  1. Hi-

We just got off the Allure NYE cruise.  Like the other ships, Royal had a balloon drop in the promenade.  They were pouring champagne at midnight.  It got crowded but not to the point where it felt overcrowded.  By 12:10 AM it started to empty out.

They also has a party going in Dazzles and Latin fiesta on the Boardwalk.  As others have shared they charged for "VIP" seating.  We thought the prices for this were outrageous.  I am attaching a photo of the flyer they had promoting this.

In addition to NYE, Royal charged crazy prices for Coco Cay Cabanas. They clearly look to charge a premium this week.

  2. We have had both Boardwalk & Central Park Balconies. By far and away Central Park is much quieter. We just got off Allure New Years cruise in a Boardwalk balcony Deck 9. There were a couple of late night Latin music parties that you could hear inside the cabin.  That said, depending upon the position of the cabin you can see some of the aqua theater shows.

  3. They will probably allow it since the kids are traveling together.  When our kids were younger, which are 2.5 years apart they allowed them to move up or down depending on timing.

I've even seen AO take siblings that are too old to be in the Voyagers and allow them in b/c they had a younger sibling.

You should go to the open house sign up and ask them to accommodate.

Whether a 6 year old will enjoy the Aquanauts will depend upon the kid's interest and maturity level.

  4. You can definitely take food out of the MDR. We've done it many times. Sometimes for kids who were in AO and other times if someone doesn't feel well.  Last year, when the Head Waiter noticed that my father-in-law did not come to the MDR he took out his phone and called my father-in-law, asked him what he wanted for dinner and sent the food to the cabin.

If you are asking if you can book for 1, pay full price to get the time you want and then use the BOGO discount the answer is yes. Might be easier to book and pay for 2.  We have paid full price to get the day and time we want and then once onboard we have used the package for the reservation and received a full refund in the form of a fully refundable OBC for the original cost.  This was done as soon as we boarded. Our Anniversary falls in the middle of the TA'S we take in Nov. and my wife always wants  a specialty dinner on that night. That being said we have never had a problem getting the days or times we asked for, we do eat at 8:30 or later. Situation could change ship to ship but we have done this on Allure, Symphony and Independence. happy cruising

    Hi-

Can you advise what you did to get the OBC refund when you got on the ship?  Did you get the credit at the restaurant? or from Guest Services?

We are doing the same thing.  Booked for 2 so we get the time we want and then want to use our D+ BOGO once we get onboard to get OBC refund.

    Thank you

    -Doug

  6. We are on the Dec 29th Allure Sailing and rec'd this from Costco which we used to book.   We were looking forward to Roatan. Been to Nassau many many times before, probably wont get off the ship since only in port til 2:30.

Due to a technical limitation on one of the ship's propulsion pods which lowers the maximum speed, resulting in slower travel, the following changes have been made to your itinerary.

Tuesday: The day at sea has been replaced with a call to Nassau, Bahamas from 7:00am to 2:30pm
Wednesday: The call to Cozumel, Mexico has been replaced with a day at sea
Thursday: The call to Costa Maya, Mexico has been replaced with a call to Cozumel, Mexico from 10:00am to 8:00pm
Friday: The call to Roatan, Honduras has been cancelled and replaced with a call to Costa May, Mexico from 8:00am to 5:00pm

If you no longer wish to sail, please call our agency by August 8th, 2019, and we'll assist you in finding a new ship and sail date to move to. Or, if you choose to cancel, Royal Caribbean will provide a full refund of any paid portion of your cruise fare to the original form of payment, including any non-refundable deposits.
  7. Hi-

This will be our first time in Roatan. Traveling with one person that needs to use a mobility scooter.  We have arranged for private vehicle equipped to transport scooter. Looking for recommendation of best beach club with handicap access.  The person cannot go onto the beach but would like to be as close to beach as possible with ability to sit in a covered area from sun and see the rest of group on the beach.     Location also needs to have paved walkways to ride the scooter on.

    Any recommendations? Thank you

  8. Sorry if this is already answered somewhere else, but can someone post what the Food Option are now on Coco Cay?

    Free? and Pay? and Locations.

Do they still have the free beach BBQ?

We will be there on the Allure this December.

    Thanks

    -Doug

  10. Hi All-

Just booked Allure Boardwalk Balcony.  Past Allure cruises we have always been on Central Park so this is first time we are getting the complimentary private  Rock Climbing session.  I have heard that this is very limited.  Can someone explain how/when/where you book this?  Is it done on the ship or in advance?  How many sessions do they have per cruise.  Don't want to miss out on this; my kids are very excited.

    Thanks

    Doug

  11. Sorry. I have not been to  the Marriott.

    I have a different question.

I want to book Day Passes to the Marriott during Xmas week but they have that week as a blackout week. Has anyone had experience getting Day Passes in advance during Xmas week or showing up at the hotel during Xmas week and buying them on the spot?

    Thanks.

  12. Hello-

We will on the Adventure of the Seas this Dec with my in-laws. My father-in-law has difficulty walking and rides a scooter. This is first time in St Kitts. Can anyone tellus how far is the distance from ship's gangway to taxi stand? Are there accessible taxis available? What recommendation for activity that is accessible friendly on the Island.

    Thank you.

  13. We've taken the water taxi direct from the pier to Columbus Cove. It's a one-way trip, you have to take the tram back.

Would you recall at approx what time the water taxi leaves from the pier? We usually get off the ship too late and have to take tram over to Columbus Cove. Thanks

  14. We have sailed on a number of Thanksgiving cruises and the menu is basically a slightly enhanced American night menu. They print the menu on a special paper and let you take it home as a souvenir, but sorry to say i never kept it.

Typically they just rearrange the night when the American dinner is served to be on Thanksgiving. If you're expecting it to be like a traditional home cooked Thanksgiving, you will be disappointed. It's a typical RCCL turkey dinner, so if you go in with those expectations and that you're thankful to be on a cruise with family and/or friends then you will have a great dinner.
