Our TA was able to get the upgrade through. It's just not showing on the App on my phone yet. and we received our medallions today. I'm assuming that will all be updated prior to embarkation. Any thoughts?

As others have said, maybe you can upgrade once onboard.
However, the premier package includes specialty dining. I imagine once all times slots are filled, they really can’t sell more of the premiere packages than there is space in the specialty restaurants without having to issue some OBC to compensate for no availability.
Maybe if they opened the specialty resultants at lunch time, they could sell more premier packages? That makes sense. Hadn’t thought about the specialty restaurant part. They must hold some, because I see I can still book (limited time slots) for the specialties.

As soon as you walk on board, there will be a stand set up very close to the gangway with a very helpful crew member who will be happy to do the upgrade for you. You can use OBC if you have any, and the upgrade goes live instantly.
Thank you for the information and advice!

They often sell out of upgrade packages. No point in stressing over it. Ask on board.
Thanks. Not a huge deal breaker, just thought it strange.

We are leaving for our cruise in two weeks and when I tried to upgrade from Princess Plus to Premier, the agent said they were sold out. Has anyone ever heard of this? Wondering if I should pursue further. Thanks!

When I am ready to book a cruise, I always check the website deck plans and choose a cabin with NO public spaces above or below me and as close to the middle of the ship as possible (much smoother ride most of the time).
The Sun is a unique small ship.
Enjoy your cruise.
Thank you. We love the aft cabins especially when it comes to areas of the world with stunning vistas and views. I know the ride may not be quite as smooth as the middle, but its worth the views. Fortunately, we have sailed on smaller ships (Oceania), so we are used to it. I didn't bother to look at the deck plans because this is the first time I've encountered the theater being at the rear of the ship and on upper levels. Lesson learned! Thank you for the wise advice of checking the deck plans BEFORE choosing a cabin. Cheers!

Just heard from our TA and she was successful in moving us to Deck 9!

I would move, it is likely to be loud until at least 11 at night, and there can be rehearsals at anytime including during the night depending on the cast’s schedule
Thank you for the advice. I’ve reached out to our TA, but we may be out of luck now. Looks like all Aft Cabins in our category are sold out. Whatever happens, we will make the best of it and have. Wonderful time. 😀

Remember that rehearses take place during the day for the various shows. Might be noticeable and might not be.
Thanks for the reminder. Having our TA check about moving, but looks like we may be stuck now. We will make the most of it whatever happens. 😀

I have another question for those who have sailed on the Norwegian Sun. We are currently booked in an aft cabin on Deck 8 that appears to be directly above the Theatre. Has anyone traveled in one of these cabins previously and can you share your experience with noise level? My research showed there may be shows in the theater at 7:30 and again at 9:30. Thanks in advance for any advice, experience or input you can provide.

We are on Deck 8 in an aft facing balcony. It looks like the theatre is just below us. Has anyone had any experience with this? Will it be noisy? I looked and there appears to be the same room type available on Deck 9. Just wondering if we need to put some space between us and the theatre.

Unless you are a large group there is no need to reserve MDR in advance, and it hasn’t been possible to do so for a while in my experience.
Larger groups may been to, but I think you need to call.
Thank you. We are only traveling with 3 other people, so total of 5. Appreciate the help.

The Sun is a very small ship. Reservations for the two Main Dining Rooms are probably not needed. Dining for both are open seating. Dining Rooms usually open about 5:30 P.M. and are open as late as necessary. There may be a line when the dining rooms open but lasts only a few minutes. One of the main dining rooms is off the ship's lobby.
The Sun is a wonderful ship.
Enjoy
Great! Thank you for the information. We are looking forward to our first time on NCL. Appreciate your response and help.

Big difference vetween NEED and SHOULD. If you are talking specialty dining, no you do not NEED to but yes you SHOULD. If you are talking the MDT, you cannot make reservations. It is first coem first served.
Thanks, I was referring to the main dining area, not specialty. I was aware we need to book in advance for those. I had just seen some chatter on another page about another NCL ship that took an hour to get seated for the Main Dining Room and several people mentioned making reservations in advance. I appreciate your input and advice! Thanks again!

Sailing on Norwegian Sun in January 2025 and wondering if we should reserve main dining in advance or just plan to show up when we are ready to have dinner. Appreciate any advice or suggestions. First time on Norwegian. Thanks!

Greetings. We will be taking our first Norwegian Cruise in January 2025 aboard the Norwegian Sun. I have seen a few stories about the long waiting periods in the main dining rooms on some ships if you fail to reserve in advance. Has anyone been on the Sun recently who can chime in with thoughts? Just trying to decide if we need to reserve in advance for the MDR. Thanks for any help or advice you can give! Cheers!

Sorry to piggyback off this thread but just wanted to clarify...
Is the 360 experience still free for suite guests?
I am trying to book through the app but it is showing that there will be an upcharge.
My cruise isn't until April 2025.
We are booked on the May 18 Western Caribbean Cruise and received an email saying they were offering this experience complimentary to suite guest (we are in a Penthouse Suite) and we could call and reserve or they would call us shortly. We did book before 12/23, however, I didn't see that mentioned in the email we received. The first time I called, the person who answered said we would have to reserve on ship at the Concierge Lounge. I called again yesterday and was able to get reservations booked. I think it may be too early for a 2025 sailing, but I would suggest you call Princess to confirm. Best of Luck to you. We have heard great things and are looking forward to the experience!

"We will be taking the train from Southampton to Paris after the cruise and our TA has advised we will need to make 2-3 transfers between Southampton and London"
Not quite. The train from Southampton to London is direct and reasonably fast. But it arrives into Waterloo station whereas Eurostar departs from St Pancras station. The transfers only come into play if you choose to use the underground to get between stations - you may prefer to do that hop (about a mile and a bit) by taxi
Thank you! This is encouraging to know.

Hi,
What is the cheapest way to travel to Southampton from London?
We are on this cruise, first time on Princess. We were advised by another traveler who lives in the UK that the National Express was a good choice. It was quite inexpensive and we paid an extra $5 each to be able to take a later coach should our plane be delayed. We are arriving a couple of days in advance, so the Princess transfer was not an option, but it seems the National Express is cheaper than their transfer.
If you book a train, be sure to check the schedule and transfers. We will be taking the train from Southampton to Paris after the cruise and our TA has advised we will need to make 2-3 transfers between Southampton and London and then a straight shot from London to Paris.

As @skynight stated, you will be able to talk with Club Class DR as well. I usually do not think about this because we have never had a Club Class booking. You will have a great time!
Thank you!

You should be able to go directly to your cabin. If not you can call from any house phone, just visit the open Club Class DR and ask assistance, visit passenger services, or maybe visit the concierge lounge if open. The Chef's Table is held one or multiple times during the cruise, not every evening. Depends on how many requests are received and the chef's schedule.
You did not ask but I offer this tip in case you are not aware. As a full suite passenger one of the best benefits is the Special Full Suite Breakfast in Sabatini's. It is way better than room service and the Club Class DR.
Thank you! Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

When your cabin is ready, yes then you can make the call. If it is not ready, you can visit a dining room and speak with the Maitre D and be put on the list. Princess does a great job of having the cabins ready in a timely manner.
Thank you again.
