  1. In the past I have not been able to figure out how to post other than a thumbnail photo. This thread got me working on it again, and by using the test threat I have finally been able to manage it. Thanks everyone for posting amazing photos.

Last year we did the spring TA on the Constellation to Amsterdam and then the following Baltic cruise. Here I am shoe shopping in Amsterdam.

  2. We were in 1118 on the Constellation last May, and we were the first to use that cabin after the Aqua Class cabins were added during the dry dock. The sitting area is closer to 1108 & 1110 than it is to 1116. It was rarely used on our cruise, but it is a nice area if you are waiting for someone. In October 2012 we were in 1118 on the Millennium and there was no furniture in that area, it was just a dead space. Not sure if they have added furniture since.

We will be in 1116 on the Constellation this fall for our B2B2B. By the time we booked, 1118 was not available for one of the cruises so we moved down a cabin as 1116 was available for all 3 cruises. We love that area of the ship and can hardly wait. Of course, as our first cruise is meant to be a Black Sea cruise, we are still waiting for Celebrity to decide if we are going to Crimea and Sochi - or somewhere else.

  3. Hi.

I know the whole worldwide weather is changing (& every year will be different) but can anyone give me an idea as to how warm it may be the end of May beginning of June?

We are on the Eclipse on 24t May (first with Celebrity) going to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersburg etc & just need to know whether to pack all jeans/trousers for day time or summer wear.

We were on the Constellation Baltic cruise that started May 20, 2013 from Amsterdam which included these same ports. For the most part my husband and I wore jeans and a light jacket. Under sunny skies it was warm, but for the most part we needed the jackets.

    Enjoy!

  4. We have done 2 B2Bs.

One was on the Solstice and all B2Bers had to leave the ship for a thorough noro cleaning and we did not have access to our cabins until almost 5PM on turnaround day. Those changing cabins brought their 'carry on' stuff to Michael's where it was kept for the day, if they did not want to lug it around during their tour.

The second was on the Constellation and we left the ship to wander Amsterdam. If I recall correctly, they closed the doors to the stairways/elevator lobbies, thus blocking access to cabins to all guests until the announcement that cabins are ready. Not sure if you can stay in your cabin, and if you would then be stuck there if you did. Anyone have experience doing this?

  5. (Disclaimer - sorry if this end up being a duplicate post, I tried posting a reply earlier but I can't see it.)

Nancy Howland-Walker and Marshall Stern were on our Panama Canal cruise on the Infinity in 2010. They led some improv classes that were fun for the passengers who participated (e.g. my hubby) and for those who just watched (e.g. me). The sessions were held on sea days and they were so much fun we petitioned the Infinity powers that be to add a couple more - and they did. Towards the end of the cruise the passengers performed an improv show. Nancy had joined our role call so we were aware before hand that they would be on board.

    DO NOT MISS THEM!

  6. We were on the Solstice in November 2012, on a B2B. The ship had been plagued with the noro virus for a few cruises in a row and between our Mediterranean cruise and the following TA all B2B passengers were provided with a free tour in Barcelona. This was to have everyone was off the ship so that they could attempt to get rid of the virus with a big clean and disinfect (it was not very successful I might add). I believe there were about 400 of us B2Bers, and we were all provided with boxed lunches.

I have never heard of boxed lunches other than this one time.

  7. The personal reason is that I would like to know because I prefer the bed on the left wall when you enter the room and that is because then the bed is closest to the bathroom and I sleep on that side of the bed. After sleeping on the same side of the bed for my entire 42 years of married life, I like to keep it that way. Sure I have had beds on the other wall, it is just a farther walk around the bed to the bathroom in the middle of the night. In my old age, I get up a lot in the night to visit the bathroom.

Right now I am in the process of picking a room for a cruise that is quite a ways out and I have a choice so I thought I would ask.

Makes sense. When traveling I also take the side of the bed closest to the bathroom. With the bed on the left I am then in my 'usual' spot. Oh well, travel is about new experiences and a change to routine and if the bed is on the right in 1116, I shall just have to adjust.

  8. I am trying to say that if you start at the end of a corridor and pair cabins e.g. 1136 & 1132, then the bed in each pair will be on the common wall between the pair. So by my reckoning the bed in 1132 will be on the right, and on the left in 1136. (The next pair along that corridor would be 1124 & 1128 and so on down to the pair of 1100 & 1102.)

The usual question is whether the bed is by bath or is by balcony, on the M class ships they are generally by the bath. On S class ships they alternate.

The OP may want to know whether they face forward or aft when in bed.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  9. I believe cabins are 'paired' and are mirror images of each other, with the beds in paired cabins on the wall between the paired cabins. Pairing cabins starting from 1101 would have 1113 and 1115 paired, so the bed would be on the right wall as you enter 1115.

I have been on 1118 on both the Millennium and the Constellation and the bed was on the left as you entered. I will be in 1116 in the fall and expect the bed to be on the right. I will watch this thread to see if someone can confirm this is how it is done.

  10. I had wondered why as well, since cruisers never specifically stated why. Since the ships of this class are basically the same, it could not be the ship itself.

We sailed on the Constellation in May 2013 and we can now also state that it is our favourite - due to the service, more specifically for us at the Captain's Club events.

We sailed on the Millennium in November 2012 and it was our first cruise at Celebrity's Elite level. We had been looking forward to the daily breakfast and daily cocktail party based on comments we had heard from others on prior sailings. However, we found the service at both events extremely poor. It was hard to capture a waiter's attention and be served. The CC host was present at the breakfasts, and discussions about the service with him were unsatisfactory.

However, it was a totally different story on the Constellation. At breakfast and in the evening we had the best service, so much so that drinks were on their way as we were seating ourselves, the wait staff quickly knew our preferences and looked after us very well.

I must say though, that service in other areas such as the main dining room, Blu and in our cabin seemed to be fine across ships.

We are looking forward to our B2B2B on the Constellation in October.

  11. We were Elite with 21 credits, so we are still Elite with 630 points. We have a B2B2B booked for next October/November. The bummer is we are in Aqua for the 3 cruises, but the first 2 are each 11 nights. That will give us 630+110=740, just 10 short of Elite + for the TA. Well, I think I will just cancel them all. Dang that mean Celebrity. Oh wait, I like Celebrity. Never mind.

  12. There is an open deck above the Aqua class cabins on deck 11. It has some loungers but no shade so it in our experience we thought it rarely used. We were in 1118 on the Connie this past summer (and in 1118 on the Millie last year) and had no noise from above. From the plans you might think the basketball court would be an issue but it is not directly over the cabins. We will be in 1116 on the Connie for our B2B2B next October. I believe it's balcony is a smidge bigger than some of the other cabins on 11. There is little shade on the balcony due to only a small overhang. We love the Aqua cabins on 11.
