  1. Thanks all for your replies[emoji3]

As you say "a Brit worried about a bit of rain"?? And a Brit who lives "up north" as well!!

It's just that it's nearly June one shouldn't really need a raincoat in the Med in summer!! [emoji299]️[emoji3]

  2. Looking at next weeks weather forecast it looks like we may need an Umbrella when on our Riviera Mediterranean cruise :(

Do Oceania have umbrellas at the gangway / in your cabin that you can use and take ashore?

I am sure they were available on the cruises we have done with Regent.

Fingers crossed we wont need one but it if they are available it means its one less item to pack!

  3. Am I going wrong somewhere?

Being a good English northerner I shop around for the best deal and this includes the price I pay for my cruises. However so far (only been on 3 ) I have never managed to get any on board credit. Is this because UK travel companies reduce the prices or should I negotiate further and push for something extra eg OBC?

All comments welcome ... Especially if it helps me get more fore my money on my next trip [emoji3]

  4. Are the Dinner menus for the main dining room and the Terrace available to view on the TV as on Regent?

We would normally review the MDR menu whilst dressing for dinner and decide what we fancied, there is always something delicious and it gave us time to really think what we would like.

  5. It's not a problem, when you first meet your room steward just ask them what you would like and then a little later they return with it. In our case a bottle of Gordon's and a bottle of jack Daniels.

Ideal for a little beverage whilst dressing for dinner!

  6. I am new to Oceania.

Have booked two of their excursions on my forthcoming cruise with them.

Will there be cards waiting for me in our state room (as on Regent) which we then exchange in the lounge the morning of the trip?

Please can an Oceania expert explain the Oceania process.

    Many thanks.

  7. Thank you everyone for your very helpful advice. We enjoy a drink or two when on Hols and much prefer to have paid up front therefore no big surprises at the end of the cruise.

Thanks particularly to Hambagahle and Travelcat2. We really have enjoyed our cruises with Regent but this year the prices really seem to have increased ( or stayed the same but for 7 nights instead of 10)!

  8. Having previously sailed with Regent (totally all inclusive) we are sailing for the first time on Riviera in June. We are really looking forward to their dining experience and having been all inclusive have purchased the Privilege Beverage Package which I am sure will meet all our drinking needs...... Both alcoholic and non alcoholic!!

Please can someone explain how the system works?

I presume when ordering a drink we hand over our room card which is swiped and thus records we have the drinks package?

    All info great fully received.

  9. Good morning from the Uk.

I have just booked 10 days on Riviera - Venetian revelations 1st June really looking forward to it!

Have previously taken 2 cruises with Regent- wonderful but their prices have increased and the number of days decreased ... Hence a move to Oceania.

Please can you tell me -

On Regent after 18:00 one had to be 'appropriately dressed' ie not in beach wear if in any of the lounges. Is this the case with Oceania?

We have booked a B4 veranda - in view of this can you advise what time we should expect to board?

We are flying out on the Saturday and making our own way to the ship.

Also anyone who has stayed in Barcelona ... Would be grateful for names of hotels relatively near the cruise terminal but also near restaurants etc for the Saturday night.

    All comments gratefully received.

  10. I too was concerned re this when we cruised the Caribbean last Feb. but as usual Regent had it sorted.

Firstly we were one of the later groups to leave the ship.

When we were given documentation re our last day/ trip home we were able to sign up for the hop on / hop off tour, This was great as we were met at the port, our luggage was labelled and then safely stowed in a van and then we're hopped on the bus! I think the tour lasted about 3 hours. It terminated at Miami marina area with shops and restaurants so were able to have a leisurely lunch and I remember sitting in the sun reading and catching the last few rays before our long flight home to the uk.

when we were ready we collected our luggage from the van and took the coach to the airport.( this was all part of the Regent package) it was very well organised and ran smoothly.
