Think the title says it all....is it safe/possible to walk the 3-4 miles?
-
That is very upsetting....was really looking forward to some bloody marys.
-
I'm glad you mentioned the spencer ambrose tour...we are doing that and didn't even think to bring our own stuff.
That was the info I needed...so don't bother bringing to Jolly Beach. :):)
-
Right now my planned beaches are
St Croix- Sand Castle Beach
St Marten- Simpson Bay or Mullet
Antigua- Jolly Beach
St Lucia- Already booked an excursion
Barbados- Suggestions?
-
I wonder if they would snag a bottle of bloody mary mix if I carried it on with me.
-
Awesome thank you, maybe I could have them add some horseradish to spice it up :)
-
Going to pack it for the cruise for sure...was just wondering if we were going to the beaches on the different islands if it's worth throwing them in our backpack or not.
-
We will be on Adventure this September sailing Southern Caribbean to St Croix, St Martin, Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados...
My question is...if we bring our mask/snorkel/flippers...which islands/beach should I carry them with me on? Don't want to lug them around if there is not much to see.
Right now I'm planning on St Croix for sure to look for Sea Glass.
-
Does anyone know what kind of bloody mary mix they use or if they make it? Can you get the mix without booze in it? I prefer spicy bloody mary mix to tomato juice in the morning.
-
Awesome. A case of water would be great. Plan on bringing wine/champagne on with me as well.
-
Thanks Drake! Appreciate the info...if you think of any others let me know, but I'm going to check that out.
-
When will you be going? Hopefully we get some response. We sail Sept 26.
-
Awesome...I'll be on there Sept 26th... Falcons game on Sunday during the day is the only one I really want to see and will be in St Croix...but if I have some $$$ on the MNF or TNF game I like to watch them :)
-
I will be on Adventure of the Seas this September and was wondering if any of the bars will be showing NFL games?
-
I will be in St Croix on Sunday 09/27 and was hoping to be able to watch the Falcons at 1pm...could anyone suggest a bar or somewhere to watch the game?

You read my mind...I've been on google maps planning my runs. We are in San Juan 3 nights before our cruise and the fort looks like an amazing place to run. We are staying at La Concha....very excited.
If it helps, we enjoy running in San Juan. Run up to the fort, and then follow the grass around the perimeter, that's a mile. Then stay along the water (past the other fort) all the way to the bridge (past the beach area and the hotels)- I think it's another mile or two, then we cross to the Condado for another mile. Back to the middle of Old San Juan through one of the main roads. It's pretty nice. Hot. But nice. It's also pretty close to the run when a half-Iron Man did an even in San Juan.

Awesome thanks for the info...I am hoping to get some good running in.
Yes, really ran. It was just under 2 miles on the shore/road to the park. Tried to run on the beach, but the sand was too steep.I think we thought about running on the other islands, but didn't.
Barbados would not be hard- you can exit the port, follow the road into the city- which is mostly along the water- just a small area with buildings. Next time we are there, we will probably run down to the beaches and back.
We've run in St. Marten before- not much space- but you can get a few miles running to town, and around to the other side of the bay and back.
We've also run in St. Lucia- kind of wandering around the city, and then on the road out of town up the hill. Again, narrow sidewalks mostly- but doable.
-
When you say you "ran" did you actually run? If so, did you run on any other islands? Any suggestions for good runs? I would like to get a few miles in on the islands.
-
Would we have an issue either carrying on or putting in our luggage some water/soda/energy drinks or a bottle of tomato juice? What has been your experience at the pier in San Juan?
-
Renting a jeep and plan to hit costco on way back from the rain forest...want to pick up some snacks, booze, and beach towels.
-
I see some rental car companies rent dune buggies, are they street legal in Antigua? Has anyone rented one and where did you go? Didn't know if there were public trails/beach that you can drive them on.
-
I will be in St Martin in September and am planning on going to Maho to watch the planes for a bit, hit the casino, then walk to either Mullet or Simpson...looking for opinions on which beach and why?
-
That was the answer I was hoping for! I love costco and love their wine/champagne prices. Very excited to hit up costco.
-
I will be in San Juan for 3 days prior to my cruise and am planning on renting a car while I am there. Has anyone been to costco? Does Costco in PR sell wine and/or liquor like in the states?
Safe to walk from La Concha to OSJ/Castillo San Felipe
in San Juan, PR

You guys answered what I was looking for....was looking to run there and back or at least one way and around the fort. Just wanted to make sure that it was possible and there were sidewalks or at least a path the of some sort and wouldn't be running in the street.
