    Hi,

I thought I’d try again to ask if your friends stayed in one of these cabins in the end.

I have 6404 booked but still can’t find anything about them. Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't see your last post.  Unfortunately our friends ended up booking another inside cabin so I don't know what they're like.  Surely someone has stayed in one.  Perhaps you might find someone who has on one of the "social" websites that has a group for Celebrity. Good luck (and be sure to post here once you get back). Happy cruising!

  2. We had 6302 (same cabin on the starboard side) on the Silhouette once and really liked it. If I recall, the balcony was a bit larger than a regular one.  The only thing I'm cautious of when choosing a cabin on deck 6 is the smoking area on deck 5.  I think you should be OK though, seeing as you're right above Blu, but maybe someone else could comment on that.

Edited to add: the smoking is on deck 5 port side only (which is why we choose starboard).

  3. They like to book midship insides and these appear to be their best option. I tried to convince them to book on the same deck we're on (several empty insides) but it's too high for them (she tends to get sea sick easily & said she does better on lower decks). There's one inside cabin available on deck 3 but the ones on deck 7 are all forward.  This is very last minute so if they cruise, they want an inside.

They were wondering if they called celebrity if someone could tell them but I said I doubted it...said I'd check here first. Members here often know more than the reps at cruise lines. 😉

Well she's telling me it's allowing her to book one for 2 people.  I just tried to do a mock booking for 2 people as well and it's definitely coming up as an option. The ones on in your link on deck 9 look different...2 of them definitely look smaller.

  5. These cabins look very different from other insides. Friends are considering joining us & are looking at these cabins. Any idea what the layout is like? They seem shorter & wider than other insides (which appear to be similar in size/layout to balcony cabins...although I assume a bit smaller? ).

If there is a particular day and time that you want to dine, then book it as soon as possible.  We have found that the prime times i.e. 7 pm can be difficult to book once onboard or, at times, even in advance.

    Thanks. I think that's what we'll do. The choices for specialty dining currently are: 6:00, 6:30, 8:00, 8:30, 9:00 & 9:30.

The 3-night package may not be worth it if you do specialty on the first night.

I've found that the first night discount essentially is the same as the "3-night discount".

Yes, for sure. We don't want to do a specialty restaurant the first night so wondering if we should just forfeit the savings for a  3 night package ($15) and book the nights we want before we get on the ship (we want to do Murano twice & Tuscan once).

No you do not need to take the 1st night booking.  As soon as you board the ship head to one of the specialty restaurants and book all 3 of your dinner reservations.  Don’t wait until mid cruise as your choice of days & times will be very limited.

Is it usually not difficult to get the times you want if you go as soon as you board the ship?  We're not super picky about times but would like some choice.  Just wondering if it's worth the discount to take the risk.  We ate at specialty restaurants 6/10 nights on our Reflection sailing last month.  With only 800 people on board, it wasn't bad at the beginning but by the end of the cruise, times were limited.

  9. I just called to change cabins for our Feb 2023 sailing on the Equinox and was told that with the new "Caribbean Sailing" promotion, we'll now get an extra $100/person onboard credit. OK 🙂

Quick question...when do the Future Cruise OBCs show up on the reservation. Right now all I see are the Elevate OBC & this new one.  Nothing for the Future Cruise. I assume it'll show up once we're on board?

  10. The pizza on the Reflection a few weeks ago was delicious. Several people we spoke with felt the same. It's not typically something we eat at the buffet, but I got one piece for my husband & I to share as I walked by the station one day at lunch and ended up going back for more. Unfortunately we discovered it late in our cruise. I'm not sure if it's the same on all Celebrity ships but I hope so.

When we were on the Reflection in November a husband and wife duo from Argentina were our favorite musical group.  I can't recall their name.

Would appreciate this information.  Also, are the currently on the Reflection.  Thank you.

We just got off the Reflection and Opalira played most evenings at the sunset bar from about 4-4:45pm and then in the Grand Foyer on a few evenings. We really enjoyed them.

I vary slightly from you about shutting down the cruise lines. If folks want to cruise - let them but if you do not want to cruise the line should refund the money and not hold folks to the FCC stuff.

I agree.  Even if they extended the deadline to use it, it would help.  Cruising in the next year or so will be more difficult for us for several reasons. We really have to cruise this winter or we may have to forfeit our FCC.

I don’t believe the ships are at full crew staffing as they haven’t been sailing full passenger capacity

Seems that with the number of passengers testing positive that the crew is also being hit by quarantines, particularly in the staff that is in constant contact with guests, waiters, bar staff, guest services, cabin stewards.  One passenger posted that they were on their 3rd Butler.

That's possible. But I've also read reports where the staff have been "falling all over" guests in an effort to keep busy. I guess it depends on the ship...and I'm sure it's changing by the moment.  I think the breakouts are much more wide-spread than we think.

  14. Thank you to all those reporting their experience being quarantined. I'm a little disappointed to hear how you're being treated.  Aren't these ships sailing at reduced capacity?  I would have thought they'd have the manpower to do more for you (and without long waits) but I'm guessing maybe there are a lot more people in quarantine than we realize.

We're due to sail in 2 weeks and after reading this thread and those on Facebook's Celebrity Captains Club, I think we're going to have to cancel.

I hope you all have a speedy recovery and a safe trip home.

There are circumstances such as those who tested positive and are sailing on Monday- 2 days away - that demand an immediate response.  Am sure neither of us would call on a holiday if there was another choice.  But. . .

Yes, very true and I thought of that as I hit Submit.  I'm sure there are many facing that predicament today. 😞
