  1. I don't know, but the coupons explicitly say "coffee delights" and it worked perfectly fine for us with different crew members. But like I said, the coffee delights are served in the Coffee bar only. So if you go elsewhere it might work the way you say.

Correct - on our Caribbean sailing coffee delights was stated on the coupons. On our Europe sailing, it was not. ONLY the lattes, cappucinos and regular coffee were allowed.

  2. We just returned from the Divina in Europe (June 10 cruise). Our coffee cuddle package only included regular coffee, cappuccino or latte. Hot or iced. I was disappointed as we had the package last March in the Caribbean and it included all the coffee delights and "froo froo" drinks. Ended up giving away 12 of the 15 coupons (we were in the YC and could get those any time).

  3. Thanks. Glad you had a great time. Were you in La Spezia on a SUNDAY??? Were shops, many restaurants, etc open on SUNDAY in Spezia?

It was Sunday, but as I mentioned, we didn't stay in La Spezia. There were not many shops open in the morning, but I did notice quite a few restaurants open on our way back - but I have no idea what is open during the day. We returned well past 9pm.

  4. We returned from our trip last week. One of our FAVORITE ports was La Spezia! We walked through town to the train station (about 15-20 minutes) and took the train to the Cinque Terre villages. They were spectacular. We went to the furthest first and took the train to each one. Great way to spend the day. Make sure you have change if you have to go to the bathroom at the train station. It costs .70 Euro.

The cruise was PHENOMENAL. The service was much improved in the YC since our trip last March in the Caribbean.

I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND Joe Banana Tour Sharing for private tours in Rome (and I believe they offer tours in other ports too). AVOID AT ALL COSTS Cruising Excursions.com

  5. There is a very long thread about them on Tripadvisor almost every comment is a complaint.

They couldn't Change the time of the excursion because they don't operate them. They are a 3rd party vendor like Viatour. Best to be avoided.

We always book our trips direct with the operator. If I was you I'd Putiit down to experience as I doubt if you will get a refund.

I doubt it too. I told them if they are going to keep my money, they are going to lose more than that amount because of my relentless social media complaints about them - FOREVER.

We have use Viator quite frequently, actually, and they have ALWAYS been more than accommodating when necessary - full refunds in some cases and switching tours, when available, in others. I have no complaints with them at all.

  6. ....we are going back down to deck 12. Even though a bit inconvenient,

NOTHING beats the gigantic double room YC2 cabins.

We had a YC3 on deck 16 & although a great cabin, we had the YC2 before & there is no comparison.

I have to disagree. We will NEVER go back to the 12th floor. We just got back from our Med Cruise in the Sofia Loren suite and it was PERFECT. Our YC suite on the 12th floor was largely ignored by the butler and staff and the lack of a balcony didn't suit us at all. The only great thing about it was the two closet areas. I much preferred 16007 and the EXCEPTIONAL, dare I say, PERFECT service. It is for this reason I'm not reviewing this cruise. No way. I'm hoping the reviews stay awful!! Shhhhhhh. :)

ALSO - I'm putting this in all my posts...

DO NOT USE Cruisingexcursions.com for ANY TOURS!!

Very poor company to deal with. Our ship changed port arrival and departure times the day before we were supposed to arrive in Cannes (this happens frequently on cruises). I notified cruisingexcursions.com immediately to ask if they are going to move the tour to an earlier time (our original tour started at 11:30am for 7 hours. Our ship was now going to leave, last tender, at 4:15pm). Obviously, we could not go on the scheduled tour. Every tour company I have ever used has always accommodated any changes quickly and without any problems. Unfortunately, these people refuse to refund ANY amount because they said the tour still went on, but was shortened to accommodate the time change. They would not answer my question when I asked if those that went on the tour got partial refunds. In any case, I'm not in Europe every day. We wanted to see the areas that we originally booked so we went on the ship's tour instead. I would not FOR ANY REASON book another tour with this company again. Lesson learned. There are far too many other reputable, easy to work with companies out there. Oh also, they say they will offer refunds if asked 14 days prior. KEEP IN MIND, this means 14 days BEFORE THE STARTING DATE OF THE CRUISE, not 14 days prior to the tour.

  8. It is only a good value if you prefer a peaceful, relaxing experience at the pool area with plenty of chairs, a dedicated restaurant where no request is too much trouble, a stocked refrigerator in your room with the drinks and snacks you like most and a key card for the elevator that bypasses all but the floor you want to go to. Yes, there are free drinks and a dedicated elevator to the spa - but you can get spa services and drink packages if you stay in a cabin anywhere on the ship too. The EXPERIENCE is what sells it for me. It's a no-brainer for us. We are sailing on Wednesday from Barcelona and this is the ONLY ship we've sailed on a second time - primarily because of the Yacht Club (and will continue to do so). After watching people stand in line for towels at the pool and barely have any space - - no thank you. It is YC for me.

  9. I'm following this thread. We're sailing June 10th and was wondering about dress code. Looks like FAQ says no jeans in the evening. I have no problem dressing up a bit for formal nights but was wondering about everything else. We have out tours booked and plan on bringing a lightweight day pack for sweaters, water and purse stuff. Looking forward to it!

I haven't seen you on our roll call yet. If you haven't secured any plans for Rome yet, we are sharing a private tour with another family and have 2 more seats left (total of 8 people max). It is an all day tour with tickets and private guides. If you're interested, let me know and I can give you all the details.

We are boarding on June 10th as well. Jeans are fine in the evening around the ship (at least they were when we were on the Divina in the Caribbean). They were everywhere.

  11. Can't wait to see your review. Were there any theme nights? I am getting ready to pack so wanted to know attire for dining room especially formal nights or theme nights.

Also, did they offer vouchers purchase for drinks? If so, when did you purchase them.

    Thank you again.

I'd like to know about the attire too. In the Caribbean, it was pretty low key. There were some very nicely dressed (formal) couples, but I noticed most of the ship was not dressed formally. I'm wondering if it will be different in the Med.

Regarding the drink vouchers - you can get them at the guest services desk when you board (or throughout the cruise). However, I suggest you call MSC and order them over the phone before your cruise. It will save you 15%.

  12. By the time we got to Barcelona for our post-cruise I was so "PARANOID" about the pick-pockets...just reading posts on this board. We've traveled all over the world and for some reason were led to believe this was the training ground for ALL of them... We just used the normal amount of caution we use anywhere and had no problem at all.

RIGHT?? I here ya! I'm going to relax and take normal precautions. ;)

  13. Sorry for your trouble, but I doubt you'll get any money back. If you had looked at a map you would have seen that it would take about 2 hours to drive from Naples to Capri. When the times are listed, they include travel time. So, you did get what you paid for - but next time be sure to research the distances. I only recently became well aware of this because when our cruise stops in La Spezia, the cruise line has a tour to Florence available. So you would think, yes I definitely want to go to Florence! Unfortunately, the drive there is just over 2 hours (over four hours of driving round trip!) NO THANK YOU. We decided we'll go to Cinque Terre and go to Florence another time if we are ever back in Europe.

  14. It's the same in Barcelona..no reason to be any more concerned than you would in the States taking the same precautions ;)

Thank you. You know when you're researching destinations you've never been to, you find SO MUCH negativity on the internet! Honestly, by the time I was done for the day I had almost decided we needed an armed guard and mini tasers. Hahaha.

  15. We just got back after a 7 day cruise (May16-23) from Rome. Overall very good impressions except a few minor details. Loved the food in the dining room!!! Lots of choices and European flavors, we had an early seating at 6.45pm and were usually finished around 8.30-8.45. We lucked out with an excellent, cheerful server. Our cabin stewart was also very efficient, kind and helpful, no communication issues whatsoever, we even got a few towel animals:)

I will write a more detailed review later. In the meantime you are welcome to ask questions.

Really? I stand corrected. I remember seeing the Divina's schedule and thinking late May before the first sailing. I'm sorry for steering the OP wrong. Glad to hear all went well!

  16. I usually purchase chips in $500.00 increments so I'm not sure if there is a max amount per transaction. I do know that once your request for the chips has been made,MSC will authorize the credit card you have on file for the additional amount which will ultimately be applied to your onboard spending account.

This is the best news I could get! Brilliant. Thank you so much.

  17. Rest,,,when you hand your S&S card to one of the dealers at any of the gaming tables, let them know you would like to purchase an "X" amount of chips. One of the pit bosses will scan your card and bring you a receipt to sign. Once you sign it,,give it to the dealer and they will in turn give you the amount of chips you requested. Easy Peasy!!:D Once you receive your chips,,play a hand or two and then cash in your chips,,,that's how you can avoid the 10% fee.

That's much easier than what I remembered! Thank you. Is there a limit to how much you can get? And when they put it on your account, you pay for it with all your other charges on your invoice at the end of the cruise?

  18. Once you do the YC you won't want to go any other way - it was fantastic and the price is incredible for what you get in service and all the amenities.

This is exactly how I felt and why, for the first time in my life, I'm re-booking a cruise on the same ship. Can't beat the YC.

Unfortunately, I see the OP didn't book a YC Cabin. His agent misrepresented it. That's NOT good business. Ouch.

  19. I wasn't going to any shows in our up coming cruise but now I might need a laugh and check it out. You have me intrigued [emoji1]
