Blu still has a better selection of appetizers than MDR or Luminae.  I actually started a list of about 10 appetizers from Blu menu that I plan to ask for when I am in Luminae in a few weeks.  None of them are soup or salad, which is basically all that is offered in MDR and Luminae for apps.

That’s unfortunate.  Suggest the one with Soba noodles. Best of all of them.

I was listening to an ad yesterday from Celebrity, talking about their “Michelin star chef”. And I was thinking to myself that this is not remotely approaching a Michelin starred dining experience.

@Stockjock I want to thank you for your review.  It reminded so much of our cruise 10 years ago to that part of the world.  Now I have Rhodes on my list and will look for an itinerary to visit less traveled islands. Thanx and have fun!

That dream is actually for the Arctic. Polar bears, not penguins. Two of my kids are teachers with overlapping school years, so they we only have a small window in northern summer during which both are available. The third is still in college, and still undecided on a career. Hopefully, he will be able to get away from whatever it ends up being for that grand adventure.

Best wishes that you make it happen.  And yes, polar bears.  But I did love the penguins in South America.

Yes, that’s the sale where you could upgrade for $9.99 pd pp. good deal.

Indeed.  We purchased it but they cancelled our cruise a few weeks ago, and won't honor repurchase at same price for replacement cruise.

This week, we just booked a Nov 7 day and decided not to book All Inclusive.

We do want to buy a wifi package and I am looking at the flash sale, however we do not need the Premium package, the Basic will do just fine. The flash sale doesn't show a Basic pkg price.

Does anyone know how much basic wifi usually is? I did some one article that said any bookings after June 1, 2023 can no longer even get basic wifi but I am not seeing that on the Celebrity website so I am not sure if that is true?

Does anyone have any tips or prices for me to use as a comparison to the Premium flash sale which is showing as $26.58 CAD/per day. TIA

It may be that flash sale prices are different on each cruise, but our Summit cruise is showing flash sale for premium wifi at $15.99, so 21.65 CAD today.

Before I cancelled I checked available times....only later times showed.  I rebooked right away after I cancelled and my 6pm time was there.  It's timing and a roll of the dice.

Last month, I repriced by calling Celebrity because the excursion was sold-out.  The rep changed the reservation for me immediately so I didn't have to worry that my computer would freeze.

Always happy to give you the straight, direct facts about air travel.  Yes, research and knowledge are your keys.

The info provided here in Cruise Air may not be the softest and fluffiest, but it's the real scoop.  Most all of us regulars are realists and will give help for those that want genuine assistance.

So if you want help with your challenge, fire away.

TY.  Any suggestions on finding one-way fares? I used to book through Choice Air and always got good one-way fares that worked well with TAs. Not finding that anymore.

This isn’t on LLP’s watch.  This is one of many changes unannounced since Laura Hodges took over.
One that hasn’t hit the boards is now if you reprice an onboard booking you lose the OBC for booking on board.  No ship, sail date, cabin category change just a price drop.

What?  That’s news to me and will make a huge difference in deciding to book anything on board since it already costs you $100 pp to change the sailing and/or ship anyway. The OBC is the only remaining benefit and it’s not much.

If this is true, I can predict that I (and others) will be booking other lines for future cruises. Often the fact that I have a booking or a Passages certificate steers me to Celebrity. Without that, I will look more closely at itineraries instead of lines.
Incredibly shortsighted and stupid on their part, IMHO.  🤦🏻‍♀️

    Sigh...

Why did they get rid of the molecular bar?

Or at least provide a tasting menu?

Was it like a pool bar where people just want sugary drinks?  Margaritas with a sugary mix?  Oh the blasphemy!  Not a real drink!

Or are they just missing a menu to give people ideas of what to order?

No pina coladas or fruit daiquiries at all.  My recollection is they were real adult drinks but with a flair.

Check The Molecular Bar by Junior Merino on YouTube. Couldn’t share it here but watching it after all these years made me smile!

I like the WCB on S class.  It is not crowded and the bartender gives you plenty of attention.  They also have all of the premium spirits.  It is good if you know what drinks to try.  Just order whatever drink you like.

You’re right.  I could order what I like but tend to always order the same thing.  That’s what I loved about the Molecular Bar (thanks for reminding me of its name @I’llGoAnywhere). It had a variety of options that were very appealing that I wouldn’t have known to order otherwise.

That bar was called the Molecular Bar. We actually sailed with Junior Merino once. He was onboard training some of the bartenders.  It was so much fun chatting with him each night. He was very protective of his "product " and wanted control over how his bar was managed. I'm not sure he was satisfied with how Celebrity reprrsented him.We loved the drinks that were created there. Definitely miss it!

That was a wonderful experience for us, too. Wonder if it was the same cruise? Both he and his wife were on board and very chatty but also very focused on the training & exacting drink proportions.  We went every single evening! I loved seeing all the fresh garnishes lined across the bar for the creative & tasty drinks. 😍

DH and I are on the Apex Baltic cruise right now and are in SV cabin 8319, which is adjacent to the suite on the port side. At the time we booked it was the only SV available. While I was hoping to snag an SV more towards the middle as the balconies appear larger, we love our cabin (and the roomy balcony) and wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

That’s great to hear. Is there room for 2 loungers?

  13. Finally decided to book a sunset veranda on Apex but have been unable to find this info. The only cabins available are immediately adjacent to the suites on decks 8, 9 and 11 (which look like the smallest balconies.) We are really looking forward to relaxing on loungers and cannot tell if they will fit in addition to chairs on those smaller balconies. Does anyone know?  Most of the pics I’ve seen show the very large verandahs in the middle staterooms where loungers seem to fit comfortably.
The only other choice we have is a sunset stateroom on 7th deck- right in the middle of the stern. I’m worried that we’ll have too much noise from shows in Eden. And not sure if the shows are just in the evening, into the early hours after midnight, or also in the afternoon.
Advice from aft cruisers on Edge or Apex would be so appreciated. Ty!

No, they're pretty much all the same---maybe 25% coverage.  You do realize that biggest factor for exposure is a combination of time of day and direction of travel?

Yes, and thank you for the 25% coverage info.
