I can answer the second part of your question. Cunard do offer post-cruise transfers from Southampton to Heathrow. Their coach transfer to Heathrow is priced at $90 per person. You can add this transfer to your existing booking by calling Cunard customer service or your travel agent. Or you can wait and book the transfer on board via a form from the Tour Office.

Very helpful.  Not inexpensive, considering it's a bus.  Can you use OBC if you book on board?

Disappointed, (not with the city as love Liverpool) but the 5 people picked hardly dressed for the occasion! Some looked like they had just come from the gym. All in all a bit of a damp squib.

I’m sure QA is lovely inside ( am booked for later this year) but at risk of offending, exterior wise I’m not keen as she looks more like a block of flats particularly forward - the Vistas and QM2 are more aesthetically pleasing. In fact is the hull was painted white she would look like a whale ! Just my opinion. I will now runaway and hide …!

I’m glad you said it!  Looks more than a little like a container ship to us.  But the inside sounds lovely, from what we’ve heard so far.

@Megabear2 thank you for the truly beautiful photos.  You’ve really captured the spirit of this haunting land.

we’ve discussed and debated the Grills Lounge many times, IMG_6151.thumb.jpeg.53f672f0cda6c8ed49943deedec9bba2.jpegIMG_6151.thumb.jpeg.53f672f0cda6c8ed49943deedec9bba2.jpegso for those who are interested, here are a couple of images

Good morning, good morning to all.  Yesterday was another truly memorable day for me....

Seriously, the "like" button isn't sufficient here.  Another wonderful post.

  5. Sounds like a design compromise, Wellness Studio against Grills Lounge.  I'm in favor of making the public areas as attractive as possible, despite traveling in the Grills on our October QA cruise.  The WS sounds like a nice place for stretches, pilates, and yoga.  Has someone posted photos? - I only remember seeing a schematic.

I wonder if the lack of canapés being rolled out across the venues of the ships isn't so much a cost cutting measure (though it helps as one) but rather an attempt to reduce waste.

I, and I'm sure many others on this forum do enjoy them. But in the past, I've seen them given to tables and be hardly touched, if at all. Even if not touched, I'd imagine the items then need be thrown away and the bowl washed.

Granted, it's not a lot of waste, but it all adds up across the fleet I'm sure!

The ones we had last year on QV were honestly not very good.  We probably left some uneaten.

  7. I wonder if the larger number of vegetarian items is meant for younger cruisers, who might be eating less meat for health and/or environmental reasons.

PS  I thought that cauliflower pithier sounded delicious, first or second night.

  8. I mind.  Every 3 days is the sweet spot between the unnecessary and the necessary.  It's more special than being at home, but only 1/3 as wasteful as every day.

    Hi all,

We are finally going on QM2 for the very first time this Sunday to Hamburg. We staying in QG (Penthouse)

As it is out first time ever cruising, Any advice or things that regular Cunard goers know that others may not know.

What we are not to miss out on in QG? I remember there were several recommendations on foods, could not remember what they were but need to look them up.

Really looking forward experiencing the Cunard magic 🙂

We will be sailing on Disney Wish this August be interesting to compare the different.

Your butler will deliver a plate of cold canapés to your room shortly before dinner.  You can ask for hot ones instead.  A nice accompaniment to your complimentary champagne.

I think it must be mainly cabin. In all our years, we’ve never had a window seat in QG on the Vistas.

Same for us.  I'm preparing for that wall-facing seat in October.  I'm hoping that at least those banquette tables are spaced far enough apart that you're not sharing your meal with the next table.

Up with the lark and  here's a little taster for those Grills folk who prefer stern suites.....

    Q5 Queen Suites I believe.

With that divider, could it be it's a Q4/penthouse?  The Q5 had a more open arrangement in a schematic I've seen.

Nope, I see the suite number is at the stern, as stated.  So it is a Q5.

I didn't mean to make light of a nightmarish situation.  It is a good TV show, but the story itself is horrifying.  I'm disappointed to hear that the wrongdoers haven't been held accountable yet.

We assumed that Mr Bates et al would prevail in the end, too.  Nothing fun in knowing now that the wronged postmasters haven't received full justice.

Not sure about ‘the fun show’ - it is a political drama which has significantly raised the profile of the hundreds of postmasters wrongly accused of ‘faulty accounting’ which people still need to be held accountable for.
