Oh, the condescension.
I suppose these sniffelers are not smart enough to use the free self tests all the provinces hand out for free? 🙄
The very last thing anyone should want is to discourage people from visiting emergency if they think they are sick enough to need it.
I think you're over estimating some people's ability to deal with some temporary discomfort and the accuracy of the test. Tests are a momentary snapshot and some will still occupy emergency room slots regardless.
Proper triage (by a Physician and not a nurse) would help reduce overcrowding but they're scared to turn people away due to liability.
I hope you feel as strongly with your final statement when you're behind the guy in the emergency room who thinks his finger is falling off due to a hang nail.

I don't understand the lack of political will. It doesn't take that much imagination to realize that the resultant increased health care costs are going to force some even more difficult political decisions in the near future.
They need to protect the healthcare system because everytime someone gets the sniffles they run to the emergency room. People use the healthcare system more than the dentist because it's free and the dentist charges. It's time to implement a small user fee to stop the frequent flyers in the emergency rooms. These days if someone coughs twice, they automatically think they have Covid and run to the hospital.

Some people just have a higher tolerance for pain than others. This site isn't like calling Princess in that the answer won't change regardless how many times you ask the same question.

Could you please elaborate on how your comments correspond to the questions raised by the OP. Or were you just posting to let us know you were on the Island Princess 3 weeks ago. 🤷♂️

There's a 30 page forum similar to what you started and I'm sure all your questions will be answered.
Happy reading. 😉

Prices are higher on board.
1-Device
$10/day versus $15/day
4-Devices
$20/day versus $25/day
Will the lower prices be available on boarding day so I can burn up some OBC?

Great questions.
This folks, is how you get to 11,000+ posts. Is there an awards program for the number of posts here? (Good question). I know on another site you eventually make it to 'Captain' status.

This is the same situation as airlines ticket pricing. If you keep checking pricing after purchase you'll just agitate yourself.
Im sure you wouldn't request to speak to a supervisor if the price went up $500. You'd be keeping a low profile. 😇

It's just a matter of time until Carnival declares prepackage chapter 11. Shares will be delisted and debt holders will take a haircut which will still be better than receiving pennies on the dollar. Royal won't be far behind them.

I had a similar situation and Princess wouldnt add the excursion OBC so I just cancelled the cruise and rebooked under the $1 deposit. I waited 5 minutes after I got off the call and my original cabin was available. Obviously this is all pre final payment.

From someone who has flown to PR more yhan i like to admit, the best options to fly to San Juan is thru JFK or Miami. Both these airports run flights almost every hour to San Juan.
Good luck

You can take a $10 cab ride to LA Concha hotel in the center of the Condado. There's a decent beach that starts behind the hotel that extends for about 1/2 miles and is free to the public.
If you're adventurous you can take the #53 bus at the bus terminal across from the port and just ask the drive to let you off at LA Concha. It costs $0.75 or $0.35 if you're over 62. It's about a 15 minute ride but the bus schedule is not dependable.

Sine the OP appears to only be concerned about service while not in port they should get the internet plan and then use 'wifi calling & texting' on their phone. Only cost would be the internet pkg.
-
This article will raise some questions regarding the viability of the cruise industry.

Cab ride from Port everglades to FLL is about $15 and there's no waiting. Just hop in and go. People spend $3000+ on a cruise and then debate the best way to the airport to save $4. 🤦♂️🤦

First, setup up your wifi calling before leaving home.
When on the ship put phone on airplane mode and then turn on wifi. Assuming you purchased wifi on the ship you'll be able to use your phone on wifi mode like you would at home. (Calls, Messaging & emails, etc)

Hop on Hop off is a rip off but you'll be in close proximity to Notre Dame Bicilica, China Town and Old Montreal which is within walking distance from the port. With some research and planning you can have a great day.

No need to jump thru hoops. Just turn off your data when roaming. Incoming text messages are always free and you only pay when you send a message. You'll also pay for outgoing and incoming call if you answer but that will be you decision.

We've done the train into Rome (Roma Termini station) a number of times and believe me, you will have many other cruisers doing the same. When you exit the train station in Rome, there are a number of hop on hop off tours that you can take. Check out the schedules on https://www.trenitalia.com. it will be twice the adventure for half the price.

It's really easy to share a connect on android.
-Go to settings
-Then click on connections
-Click on mobile Hotspot and Tethering
-Turn on Mobile Hotspot
-Tap on the words 'Mobile Hotspot' and set up your network name and password so everyone on the ship doesn't connect to your phone. (Mobile Hotspot)
-On the second phone or computer click on connections then wifi and find the network you created and enter password. That's it.
Easy peasy.
You can try it at home.

Check out Baycare Clinics as there are a number of locations in the Tampa area. Cost is $150 but you get the results in 20 minutes while you wait.
