  1. How is this possible, and is it for real? I have a transatlantic cruise booked in the spring of 2018, so I am researching one way tickets back to the USA. Looking at every airline search engine I know of, the price for business class flights back home are outrageous. Then I check on Royals Air2Sea site, the price is $6,300.00 cheaper then any other site for the exact same non stop flight. I have priced out this flight on Air2Sea site 5 or 6 times, checking everything, to make sure I am comparing apples to apples. Has anyone had any problems/issues going through Royals Air2Sea program? Thanks in advance for your responses.

  2. We are considering taking the POA, Hawaii cruise, next April or May. We have done many cruises (10+), but never on NCL. I have never seen so many mixed reviews on a ship, the food and the service. Some think it's the greatest ship, while others did not enjoy it all. But everyone loves Hawaii :D.

In any event, we usually book suites, and the question I have is most of the suites (not all) show as adjoining cabins. The deck plans seem to have the adjoining arrows out where the balcony is. Is the adjoining portion on the balcony, or actually in the room itself? If it's a balcony door that could open, that would not be to bad. If the adjoining door is inside the cabin, that I'm not crazy about. I understand the need for some adjoining cabins, but there seem to be an extra ordinary amount of adjoining cabins. Are the doors inside the cabin, or out on the balcony. I think I know the answer (inside), but looking to confirm. Thanks

  3. If they are going to let me switch from a 10 day to a 14 for the same price (Navigator, would work better for me). That is not a bad deal. I had a GS booked on the Independence, and just pricing the Navigator, it's a few thousand dollars more. Are they saying my price is locked (other then taxes) at what I was to pay for the Independence. Plus 200. OBC.

The 10 day would have been better for my schedule, but I'll work it out if I can take the Navigator for the original Independence price.

Wonder if I will lose the OBC and free gratitudes I was getting from my TA. If my price is the same, then the commission paid to my TA should not change either. Do you think I would still get the perks that my TA offered with the Independence booking? Guess I would have to pay 4 addition days gratitudes to keep everyone even.

Anyone have experience with the TA perks when a cruise is cancelled? Can not call my TA until Tuesday, because of the Monday holiday. Thanks

  4. Emailed my travel agent, the reply was "there is currently a lot of group space being held, but beyond that they could not tell me anything more, except that there are currently no notices attached to this cruise having to do with it possibly being cancelled or whatnot" she saiid they usually let them know, so no news is good news. So at this point everything still seems to be a go.

  5. Slight new twist... every web site I go to shows this cruise sold out. Except one, the one I booked with, they show lots of interior and balcony rooms, no suites, or ocean view rooms. I have book through this web site site about 7 or 8 times and have never had a problem with them. I can not call the agent today because they are closed on Sundays. but I'll certainly call tomorrow.

As far as the itinerary goes, I'm fine with all the sea days, and only the one port. Its the length of the cruise (10 days) that I like. Most TA cruises are 14 or more days, and that is hard on the vacation time. 10 days plus a couple of days in London, and a couple of days in Paris (that is the plan at this juncture). will equate to 14 days or so vacation. A 14 days plus a few days in Europe would bring the vacation time to close to 3 weeks, and I can not do that much time off work. Its the 10 day TA that sold me. A transatlantic cruise is on the bucket list, and this one fit the bill.

  6. I'm not a lawyer, nor do I know of any reason a ship could hold you against your will. It's a cruise ship, not a prison ship. If I wanted to get off the ship, I would just inform the parties in charge that I needed to get off the ship. The ships crew (management) should certainly be aware your leaving, just so they know your not missing. I do not see anyway they could refuse to let you get off and leave the cruise whenever you wanted to leave the ship. Just my two cents

  7. I had booked a GS suite on the Oasis, last year, but I really wanted the OS. After I booked the GS. I watched prices, and nothing happened on the price of the OS. As the cruise got closer, and the final payment was made, the OS did drop a couple hundred dollars. I decided I would buck up, and upgrade to the OS, so I called my TA, and instructed him to request the upgrade, and I would pay the additional money. Well when my TA called me back, he informed my that he was able to get the upgrade. I was very happy. Then the next sentence came out of his mouth, the upgrade was given for no additional money. Well I went from happy to over joyed. The moral is it's always worth a phone call. Oh and the OS suite is fabulous 👍

  8. I have stayed in the Neptune suite across from the Neptune lounge, the convenience is great. The balcony is big enough to accommodate 3 people easily. I have not stayed in an aft suite on the Eurodam, so I can not comment on the balcony size. It really depends on what is important to you. The aft view, or the convenience of the Neptune lounge. Either way you can not go wrong. Have a great trip

  9. All good suggestions thanks... Probably leaning towards staying overnight in Vancouver, Just so I don't have to deal with the headache and possible anxiety of cutting it too close to the scheduled flight time. Still in the planning stage, but there is such a great price on the cruise right now, I'm sure it will not last. so its getting close to decision time. Thanks all

  10. I am in the beginning stages of planning an April 2017 cruise. The Holland America cruise I am looking at arrives in Vancouver on Sunday morning. The best (cheapest) flights back to the East Coast of the US (Wash DC) leave way to early to make (6 AM & 7 AM). I did find a doable flight that leaves Vancouver at 10:30 AM. Would the 10:30 AM flight be cutting it to close for an international flight back to the US? What time would you recommend the earliest I look at flights heading back home (Wash DC). Thanks

  11. This whole drink package on sale thing is getting comical. My cruise is tomorrow (5/7). I have been looking constantly at the cruise calendar, and the drink package has never been on sale. This morning I look and there it is; 20% off Premium drink package ($39.20). Well that's just great. They post the sale, and the cruise is tomorrow, the ordering deadline for online purchases has past.

Ridiculous if you ask me, do you think they do this just to mess with people?

  12. The upgrade fairy is alive, I just had to wake her up. I really could not believe this happened. I was booked and had already paid in full for a GS on the Oasis, for next weeks cruise. This happened about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I was watching the prices on the OS, but just did not want to let go of another 1700. dollars. Then the price dropped so it would cost me additional 800. dollars. I thought about it and since I really wanted the OS, I justified it in my mind that it was only a little over 100 a night, 50 more per person. Yeah I know convoluted thinking, but I was trying to justify the additional money. So I called my TA, and told them I wanted to upgrade to the OS, and would pay the additional 800. Well to shorten the story, about 30 minutes later I got a phone call back from my TA, and she said I got the upgrade, and it would not cost me any additional money, same price I paid for the GS, and I got to keep my OBC, and the paid gratuities. I was floored and so very very happy, I still am! We sail next Saturday in an OS on the Oasis. Thank you upgrade fairy 😃

  13. Thanks, but I've been there. They ask you to fill out a request form, that asks for proof of membership in C&A or Captains Club or several other loyalty programs.

I maybe slow in getting it, but how do you prove membership?

I just submitted my request for matching membership.... What I did was print out the page on Royal web site that shows my status (diamond)and cruise credits..then took a picture of it, and submitted that.... I do not know if it will work or not.. The message was they will review and notify me shortly.. I just did it about an hour ago, I really do not expect to hear back over the weekend, so I am thinking I will hear back in the beginning of the week. But really have no idea... I'll let you know what happens.

  14. My thoughts on the drink package. We have diamond status and will be on the Oasis in May. I'm still trying to figure out whether to buy the drink package or not. I am leaning toward not getting the package and here is why. We have booked a suite, so we will get free drinks in the suite lounge for a few hours in early evening, also don't you get three free drinks loaded on your cards as a diamond? I also read here on the board that in the suite lounge you can get free beer from 11 to 11 every day. I believe there is a coffee machine available to get a latte, or cappuccino in the diamond lounge (might be mistaken on this). With the new suite perks now I believe we now get bottled water in our stateroom through out the cruise. Now add we are not super big drinkers, but will drink during the cruise. It seems between being a diamond member, and cruising in a suite this time, the drinks are really already covered for most of the cruise. I will say when we first get on the ship, we will usually get a couple of pina coladas, just to start out the vacation, because it's just a fun silly thing to do, the 30 bucks for these two drinks is a lot cheaper then the hundreds for the drink package when it seems there will be plenty to drink already included in the price of the cruise. Am I wrong in my thinking here? What am I missing?

  15. I can check with my TA, was just wonder how it shows up on my on board account.. It was on my confirmation from the travel site, but I do not see it listed as pre paid gratuities, on my reservation on Royal's web site. This does not surprise me though, I have booked numerous times with this on line site, and my OBC, never shows up anywhere before the start of the cruise, but has always been on my account once on board. This is the first time "free tips" have been offered (where I took advantage of them), so was interested to know how it shows up on my on board account once I'm on board.
