  1. I believe that cabin is comparable to the inside cabin that we had on the Royal Princess. Because of how it is configured, it offers a few extra square feet of space because the door opens into the middle of the cabin as opposed to opening to the "end" of the cabin, if that makes sense. We had no issues with the cabin. It was quite comfortable.
  2. Actually now that I slept on it, it's to avoid confusion. The cruise line is saying, "we are departing Tuesday NIGHT at midnight, not Wednesday night at midnight." The best way to avoid confusion is to put 11:59pm on the night of departure.
  3. You're very kind. Hope to see you again or even sail with you some day.
  4. Of course it could still be wrong. Afterall, it's still showing the Emerald getting in at midnight even though all of us know arrival time is at 8:00.
  5. It has since been updated in March as well as today 2023.pdf (sfport.com)
  6. Both of the Alaska sailings for the Miracle in May will be out of Pier 27
  7. It's an easy 5 minute walk from Pier 35. I have asked to work both of your port days. I'll let you know when the boss posts the assignments; I usually post on your roll call pages.
  8. That is not correct. Emerald is scheduled to use Pier 35
  9. If you're asking why specifically it's 11:59pm, then I agree with LynnSD. It's to avoid confusion over noon or midnight. Some of our STREET CLEANING signs are like that too.
  10. Also take into account if you are embarking on a double ship day. But an 8am arrival should be ok. You will probably be arriving at the terminal around 9:30-10.
  11. When we disembarked in January, I just saw one customs officer. It was the terminal Princess employees who guided us through the “look at the screen. {{match}}. Ok you’re good. Next.” Last week there were at least three or four customs officers, but they were just looking at us coming off the gangway. It was, once again, the terminal Princess employees guiding us through the process. In fact, the lady right outside the gangway kept telling everyone, “Nope. You don’t need bring out your passport.”
  12. Yep. That’s later in the day. A few cruises ago, there were two long lines. One to drop off luggage, and then another one to get inside the terminal. Luckily US Customs is streamlined now. Just look into a camera on an iPad screen, and if your face matches, you’re good to go. Less than 2 seconds.
  13. Wow $70! That meter must have been really ticking while sitting in traffic. That sucks.
  14. Since we booked last minute, the only choice we had was Allegro at 6:40. We were in line at guest relations and saw Claudio. Went up to him and asked if we could switch to Concerto. He said the only open times were 5:00 and 7:30. No problem. We took 5:00. Then went to the dining room for lunch and saw Sergio. Told him we wanted Alvin and Roel again. He said no problem. Didn’t even take down our cabin number. Went to dinner that night and got the same table as before.
  15. Claudio is the Director of Restaurant Operations. I prefer saying maitre d’
  16. Silvija says hi. Sergio pulled some strings and we got assigned Alvin and Roel again.
  17. October (Columbus Day weekend). I was smart enough not to work that day either. Our SFPD guys had to call two on duty patrol units to “escort” them (we bring our personal cars to work the port) off the Embarcadero
  18. They have opened the public restrooms closer to the street. They closed them for years due to the homeless abusing them. Might be the new port manager’s call.
  19. And that’s why I don’t work full turns at Pier 35!
  20. Instead of keeping the Royal here in San Francisco, they give us the Crown. We, too, love the Royal. Of course, they'd rather give SoCal the nicer newer ships (Discovery).
  21. So Silvija took over for Jackson? If you recall, was Roshawn one of the servers?
