Hello, We will be sailing out of NY on the Meraviglia in October. I have been watching numerous videos and reading up on the ship. A few answers I cannot seem to find anywhere: 1-We love to get one meal to try and one backup meal in case we don't like the 1st meal (we eat both meals). I have read/heard that MSC doesn't have a traditional Main Complimentary Restaurant, that they charge for any dinner after the 1st entree? Is there any truth to this? 2- Can you request just a table for two at dinner? 3- If the lines are as terrible and disorganized and I have heard, is there a time you can go to the meals (buffet) and the lines will be short? 4- I have read conflicting reports on complimentary drinks at meals. They all state that you can get tea, coffee and water but some also say you can get lemonade and flavored waters? 5-Are there any smaller venues to get complimentary foods? 6- Port Canaveral is one of our Ports. Does MSC have any shuttles (for a fee) to the Theme Parks. Thanks

Even if this was true, Carnival knows the "American Buffet Model" (they have it on other ships). How hard would it have been when they were renovated the ship to make it more manageable like their other ships?

This is an excellent point that I haven't seen before. Cruise lines complain about food waste and have gone as far as charging for additional entries and many complimentary Main Dining Rooms but they "encourage" people to overload plates because no one wants to wait in long lines (especially if they have to do it several times with multiple family members). I took 2 Carnival Cruises in October. No issues in the Buffet, just visited the station of food I wanted. Hopefully Carnival will get their act together by the time I sail on the Venezia this October.

Hello, We sail on this ship in October. I've heard numerous horror stories about the lines in the Buffet and seen lots of videos to support this. I guess the Buffet area/lines was designed very poorly? Has anyone who has sailed recently noticed an improvement in this situation? Thanks

We (Nancy and John) are doing a 12-day cruise on the Carnival Venezia in October. Now that several sailing have happened I have questions on these sailings: 1) What Complimentary restaurants/food are currently onboard? 2) Are the Buffet lines as bad as everyone says or have they improved? 3) What shows, activities and attractions are on board? 4) Are menus and/or the Fun Times printed anywhere online? 5) Are there any meetups or Group activities planned ? Thanks

Looking for places to stay in NY for a 2023 Carnival Cruise. -
We have sailed out of NY many times and have always booked a Park, Sleep and Shuttle Cruise package at a local hotel. Does anyone have any current deals and/or places that do this? This would be for an 12-day October Cruise out of NY on Carnival. Thanks, John

We are also on the 12-day in October so I will be following this thread closely.
