I think you're missing my point. I completely agree that the current guidelines are absolutely useless.

It's time to just plain stop the testing.

I'm just getting tired of people not using a little common sense. In fact, they are putting obstacles in their own way.

"Any at-home antigen test"   Yet someone asks about if that means no PCR test.

"How do you prove what date you took the test?"   Nowhere does it say you need to prove anything.

And ever more of the same. Ugh.

I'm waiting for the day when Celebrity  states "No testing of any kind is required to board any of our ships".

And then someone will post: "Does this mean I don't have to take a test to board the ship?"

Totally agree with what your saying.  It’s quite clear that you can use ANY at home self test.  And the 3 day thing is self explanatory.  People are driving themselves crazy by overthinking it.

I was also hoping to find an answer to this question, but I'm not sure there have been any itineraries where the self-test was in effect.  Perhaps in Europe but I'm not sure.  At least for the Caribbean, the first 10 day of longer sailing doesn't occur until September 16.  There are a couple of sailings in Europe starting on September 15.   There are other longer sailings but they involve stops in Canada so the new rules don't apply.

I'll be on the 10- night September 26 Equinox sailing, so I was hoping to get some information before I show up at the pier with my negative test strip.

We are on the 10 night sailing of the Equinox as well.  I have called X several times & was told that a screenshot of a self administered test is enough.   I’ve done the BinaxNow self test, as a practice test & it has a bar code on it.  I put the Narvac app ( Binax now) on my iphone.  Once I got the results, I scanned the code & it gave me a negative digital printout.    I’m taking screenshots of the negative tests as well.  Just to be on the safe side.

Still not able to access my luggage tags for my cruise 5 days from now.  With that, I am going to use the ones from the porters.  With that, I had previously purchased plastic luggage tag holders for the ones I was supposed to have been able to print out.  Do I need to bring these for the tags I get from the porter?

I had to call to get mine sent to me via email.  I would call as quickly as possible.  They told me it would take up to 7 business days, but I told them that I needed as quickly as possible. They sent them within the hour.

Hmm. All I read is that we need a monitored test 3 days before departure . I wonder what happened to the wording that no monitoring was necessary? Maybe X has come to their senses and realized those tests would not prove that you actually took the test yourself. Guess we'll go back to the clinic where we have gone in the past.

I called Celebrity & was told that a self administered Covid test without proctors or supervision will be allowed.  You will need a picture/screenshot of the negative test, or a printed or digital sheet.  I just tried the BinaxNow home test.  It has a code on the package that I scanned & then it scanned my results.  I took a pic & have the printout & digital results as well.  I’m going to be extra careful & bring them all.

Agreed… it doesn’t make sense.  Self tests don’t have a time stamp, so they’re meaningless in this context.

I think it’s ridiculous!  If you test positive, you could have someone else take the test for you.  Plus they aren’t requiring any testing on cruises 9 days or less.  Makes no sense.

I received this email from Celebrity today.  I think it is saying that an observed test will no longer be required on most sailings from the US.  Does anyone else interpret it this way?

    Starting with September 5th departures:

    • All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, can cruise with us on sailings departing from U.S. and Europe ports (excluding sailings that visit Canada).
    • We will begin accepting self-tests on sailings from U.S. ports that don’t visit Canada and Bermuda, and on many Europe sailings.
    • We’re easing testing protocols for U.S. cruises that don’t visit Canada or Bermuda:
      • For sailings 9 nights or less, vaccinated guests will no longer need to test to board one of our ships, where destinations allow; and will have 3 days prior to boarding to test for sailings 10 nights or more.
      • Unvaccinated guests ages 5 and older will need to test 3 days prior to boarding U.S. sailings (excluding Canada and Bermuda); and ages 12 and older for select Europe sailings.
    • The current testing protocol for cruises to Canada and Bermuda will remain in place until further notice, as well as the requirement that guests age 12 and up be fully vaccinated.
    • Some testing protocols in Europe are also easing.

We are sailing on the Equinox in about 4 weeks.  I called Celebrity twice to verify if I could use a home Covid test & was told that they can now be done at home unsupervised!  You will need a clear screenshot of the negative results, or a printout or the actual test in hand.  Can’t believe it, but it’s true.

Yes why would you think not?

We were on the Edge in August &’the a reflection in November & they were not allowing anyone to enter the terminal until their check in times.  Why not just sit at your hotel until it’s close to your check in time. Sit by the pool or in the lobby.  I’m sure they won’t mind.

I’m not sure if loophole is exactly the right word, since the instruction actually appears right on the slot machine how to do that. However, not all ships are set up to be able to do that. Apparently constellation and reflection are not. It has to do with updating the slot machines. Some ships do not have the updated machines, some do.

We were on the Reflection in November & used our OBC in the casino.  We went to the ge cashier & she loaded the credits on our cards.

Yes.  We were prepared to head to the OV for lunch, but when we got upgraded to CC, it was a pleasant surprise.  Either way, there was no fighting the crowds based on the numbers embarked.

We always book CC & we’re disappointed that they took the embankment lunch away on the last 2 cruises.  They substituted it with lunch during the week in the dining room, which is no big deal since the dining room is open for lunch on sea days.  So glad to hear it’s back!

We had an oceanview stateroom booked on Deck 3, and we got upgraded at the pier to a concierge stateroom on Deck 8.  What a pleasant surprise.  Got all the CC amenities, including embarkation lunch and champagne.  We had initially tried to bid for upgrade to FV and AQ, but bids were rejected.

One of the medical officers told me they are using the deck 3 staterooms for crew overflow.  Quarantine if needed was on Deck 2 and Deck 7.  Don't know where on the ship.  I asked out stateroom attendant how many cabins he had, and he told me just five.  They have more crew than pax.

Just curious, we were on the Edge in August & Reflection in November & the Embarkment lunch for Concierge was not on Embarkment Day, it was midweek.  Was your lunch aboard the Connie the day of Embarkment?

    I have a new question:

We have the earliest embarkation time scheduled - but it is later than usual...

Does anyone know the time the Connie has been opening for checking on the last few cruises?

We cruise in a little over 3 weeks.

    Thanks in Advance!

We sail on the Connie in March 18th.  We have a 12:00 check in.  I think that maybe one of the earlier check ins.  We were on the Reflection on Nov & had the 12:00 as well.  They are really sticking to the times they are giving.  We saw people waiting outside the terminal that got there an hour early & couldn’t go in.

They still need the original at port.  This is a new thing they have added to online check in, there is now a section where you upload the picture of your vaccine card, but it still says to bring the original with you.

Oh, thanks for the update.  We are sailing on the Reflection on Nov 6th.  But we haven’t been able to check in.  Il

Does anyone know how I can download my vaccination card on the Celebrity App?  My cruise leaves in a few days and when I go into the app, I do not see anything that allows me to download a copy of my vaccination card.  Can someone please explain to me how I can download my vaccination card on the app?

When we sailed on the Edge in August, I was told that they wouldn’t accept an electronic vaccination card.  They wanted the original card.  They needed to see the raised seal.

  14. I’m not sure if you can use OBC for transfers.  But we found it cheaper to take a taxi from the airport to the pier.  It’s $20. You don’t have to wait for the bus to fill up ( not that they are doing that because of Covid) & found it easier.

Has anyone experienced this?  Starting to get worried now that we might be cancelled.  Reflection Nov 6th.

We are on the same sailing.  I was told that the check in would be 30 days prior to sailing.  So we have 8 days to go before we can do online check in.

For our upcoming November 15 cruise, we checked in as soon as it became available - mid August I think. A couple weeks back we revised our boarding time to a better slot (11:30), and completed everything for check in. Today I looked at our booking and it says check in is unavailable and will start October 1? Has anyone else experienced this?

We have a November 6th sailing & have had the same problem.  I was told by Celebrity that check in online will be 30 days prior to sailing.  I’m praying that there isn’t a problem that day with everyone trying to check in.

Is the fresh squeezed orange juice that Celebrity charges $4 really freshly squeezed or is it like the orange juice we buy from the market. I tried the juice from Apex and it seems pretty sweet. Doesn't taste like the fresh squeeze orange juice I drink from home

We got fresh squeezed OJ every morning & it wasn’t from a carton.

First, I am not a germaphobe, but just wondered if seapass cards are still being touched by other people every time there is a transaction on the ship.

I am not afraid of staff holding or touching my cruise card- as one poster already mentioned- Covid is almost always carried on by air. I am more afraid of people no adhering to the rules- esp. wearing their masks propperly. Holding ones mask in ones hand or wearing it right UNDER  ones nose is not how it should be worn. I am still not sure is it just ignorance or plain stupidity.

We were on the Edge last month.  For the most part we were asked our cabin number when we ordered drinks or specialty coffees.  Every now & then we passed it to a crew member, but honestly it was infrequent.

Under normal conditions pre-covid, walking off the ship with your luggage, it would not be a problem.  I'm not sure what the conditions are now with covid, i.e., port clearance, testing, etc.

We got off the Edge 3 weeks ago & found the disembarkment procedures easier then before Covid.   We didn’t have to fill out a customs form.  We showed our passport, picked up our luggage & left.  Very simple.
