the room did have some vibration. But then so did the whole ship
  2. I have done Southbound cruises 3 times myself, on a different cruise line out of Seward. If she makes it to Skagway the hard part is behind her, the Gulf of Alaska can have rough seas, but once in the inside passage it is usually fairly smooth. Like another person noted check with Princess cruise line if they will allow early departure.

  3. Thank you that makes me feel better I was worried about noise, also I usually book mid ship, but was able to get these 2 rooms during a sale that was less than the mid ship quad obstructed ov room I originally booked so I made the switch. Hopefully will be smooth seas for our June Alaska trip :)

  4. There is a huge Zip Line in Icy Strait Point, and great whale watching out of Icy Strait Point as well.

There are several local whale watch vendors that you can book yourself without going through the cruise line. I think you can also do the zip line on your own as well.

  5. KyOh, we are on the same cruise you are on June 10, and doing land tours as well. We opted to just upgrade our tour to the Tundra Wilderness Tour, with Princess but we are traveling with several other people so felt it would be easier that way, we will be taking our 2 daughters ages 15 and 17 along as well as the in laws.

In, Juneau we are also doing Harv and Marv, if the tour is back in time, they do have fairly inexpensive shuttle buses out to Mendenhall, you can purchase tickets at the vendors dockside, if I am not mistaken. Also you can take Mt. Roberts tram up the mountain which offers some really pretty views and some hiking depending on weather (our girls enjoyed this last time we went).

Skagway, you will definitely need to take your passports if going into Canada, and like others have said it is a very pretty drive, you can go to Emerald Lake, Carcross and the worlds smallest desert.

I am not sure if you are on Facebook but there is a group on there called Alaskan Cruises on Princess you can join, you can get a lot of information, they are good people. :)

  6. stren003, a couple of months I was able to upgrade my NHT to the longer TWT, all I had to do was call my Princess rep and ask them to upgrade my tour it was not overly expensive for the upgrade so maybe they can upgrade you to the Kantishna Tour. We are traveling Jun 6-17.

  7. I have done 3 Alaska cruises, and have a 4th set for next summer. All have been in June, I have had both cool days and warm day.s, sunny and rainy Alaska is awesome and I am already waiting on 2018 cruises to post so I can share this wonderful place with my sister who has never been then.:)
