Thank you, my daughter is only 5'4 and thin so that may be what we opt to do.:)

I think I was worried about it blocking the bathroom. LOL

We will be on the Radiance, in stateroom 9584 in June. I was curious in this room category how the sofa bed opens up. Does it take up the whole room, or does it open like a futon not taking up as much space. Any photos would be helpful. :)

Thank you Rewind I appreciate all your input. :)

Rewind, thanks for the information, we are there 2 nights and will probably be the same just sleep, eat and go to Denali for the shuttle. any recommendations on places to eat in the area that you liked. And did you purchase sandwiches somewhere to take into the park.

Rewind, what a great review, I have actually been in that cabin 7600 on the Radiance it is a terrific location, I am booked in 9584 for next summer to Alaska. I do have a question we are also booked at the Denali Dome home for next summer, did you enjoy your stay with them, we are booked for room 1?

Anyone else having issues with their website. I have 2 computers and an IPad at home and no matter which one I use 1/2 the time I get error messages when looking at cruises or cruisetours for 2018. Kind of frustrating.

the room did have some vibration. But then so did the whole ship -
I have done Southbound cruises 3 times myself, on a different cruise line out of Seward. If she makes it to Skagway the hard part is behind her, the Gulf of Alaska can have rough seas, but once in the inside passage it is usually fairly smooth. Like another person noted check with Princess cruise line if they will allow early departure.

Cruiser Boo, if you are a member of Facebook and have not already joined there is a group labeled Alaskan Cruises on Princess, people have started posting photos from their trip, this week I do believe there were a couple of whale photos of both Orcas and Humpbacks, especially around Juneau.:)

Thank you that makes me feel better I was worried about noise, also I usually book mid ship, but was able to get these 2 rooms during a sale that was less than the mid ship quad obstructed ov room I originally booked so I made the switch. Hopefully will be smooth seas for our June Alaska trip :)

That makes me feel better.

note to self bring ear plugs then :)

Has anyone stayed in either of these two rooms. Any pros or cons, ex noise, motion smells from above. Good location or bad.
-
We also did a whale/bear watch combo and saw whales and at least 5 or 6 bears.
-
There is a huge Zip Line in Icy Strait Point, and great whale watching out of Icy Strait Point as well.
There are several local whale watch vendors that you can book yourself without going through the cruise line. I think you can also do the zip line on your own as well.

Has anyone stayed in this cabin, were there any issues with the cabin, could you hear noise from the lounge below?

KyOh, we are on the same cruise you are on June 10, and doing land tours as well. We opted to just upgrade our tour to the Tundra Wilderness Tour, with Princess but we are traveling with several other people so felt it would be easier that way, we will be taking our 2 daughters ages 15 and 17 along as well as the in laws.
In, Juneau we are also doing Harv and Marv, if the tour is back in time, they do have fairly inexpensive shuttle buses out to Mendenhall, you can purchase tickets at the vendors dockside, if I am not mistaken. Also you can take Mt. Roberts tram up the mountain which offers some really pretty views and some hiking depending on weather (our girls enjoyed this last time we went).
Skagway, you will definitely need to take your passports if going into Canada, and like others have said it is a very pretty drive, you can go to Emerald Lake, Carcross and the worlds smallest desert.
I am not sure if you are on Facebook but there is a group on there called Alaskan Cruises on Princess you can join, you can get a lot of information, they are good people. :)

stren003, a couple of months I was able to upgrade my NHT to the longer TWT, all I had to do was call my Princess rep and ask them to upgrade my tour it was not overly expensive for the upgrade so maybe they can upgrade you to the Kantishna Tour. We are traveling Jun 6-17.

Awesome thank you

We will be sailing on the Star next summer and were wondering if anyone had any thoughts over either E505 OR 507. I know they are both obstructed but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or photos of either room and how obstructed the view would be.

I have done 3 Alaska cruises, and have a 4th set for next summer. All have been in June, I have had both cool days and warm day.s, sunny and rainy Alaska is awesome and I am already waiting on 2018 cruises to post so I can share this wonderful place with my sister who has never been then.:)

Dolphin deck is uncovered, the Emerald deck has covered minis toward the aft of the ship.
