I'm looking at a Spring Break cruise for next year with my husband and my 2 teens. Our last three cruises (the only ones we've done with the kids) have been on Royal Caribbean, and we've been happy, but the prices are SO HIGH for April 2023. I started looking around at some other options and found a really fabulous itinerary on Breakaway. Prices seem lower on NCL, or at least you get more for the same price.

Anyone else switched from RCCL? Thoughts/comparisons? Also thoughts on Breakaway for teens? Seems like there is plenty to do!

    NCL is awesome. ❤️

Well, that is a nice list of caveats, but you waited until AFTER you made the declaration (based on no numbers) to provide them. It would have been clearer had you provided the relevant information up front instead of parsing it out little by little.

Besides, if you're only interested in ONE thing, it really makes no sense for you to comment on the value of the entire package at all...value in this, or any other, package comes from those who are interested in the entire package, not just one small part.

Haven’t been on here in a couple of years really but it’s clear that people are still snarky to each other. Isn’t the world situation bad enough? Be nice.

Haven't really paid attention to the current testing requirement for NCL but just booked our next 7 day cruise for this coming January.

I ordered the free covid tests provided by the US government this week. Are those tests valid to board?

Only if you are monitored by a valid 3rd party. Website has info.

I'm in the same boat. Last time in November it wasn't on option for me to bundle both Platinum Plus and 250 min perk when selecting my upgraded package online.

But I might ask this time because I was ticked... Once I upgraded my 250 min perk to unlimited, my 60 minutes went away, which I'd have given to hubby to use.

Depending on the ship you are on, some of the Internet Managers will allow you to convert all your “perk” WiFi minutes and subtract them from the cost of unlimited. That’s the way it “SHOULD” be but there are some who steadfastly refuse to do it.

No, you can't!  You can't because you're not qualified to know how the decisions came about.  You weren't there.  You don't know what happened.  You're not trained like a pilot or sailor.  You don't know what goes on up on the bridge or in the cockpit.  Who died and made you the judge of all because you don't like something?

So, no.  No you cannot be critical of something you know NOTHING about!

    Ditto !

    Hi

We also sailed on Star B2B 11/5 till 11/30.

We found Suzana to be awesome.  She was very present to us.  She actually called our suite one day when she did not see me all day to see how I was doing.  She went out of her way to get that personal relationship going.  She is super efficient, perhaps that is why she wasn't "touchy-feely"; she had an awful lot to deal with on the 11/19 cruise.  For sure she was always very friendly with us and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and more.

We think Suzana is amazing. Give a little and you get a lot in return. Pretty simple really. We wanted peanut MnMs. Ship didn’t have any so she went off the ship on her break to a store and brought us a HUGE bag.

Just back from the Breakaway TA yesterday.  Here's the list:

    Captain:  Mateo Candrlic

    Chief Engineer:  Zoran Posa

    Staff Captain:  Viktor Vranic

    Hotel Director:  Vuk Malobabic

    Asst HD:  Dia Ambida

    Cruise Director:  Dan Dan

    Food and Beverage:  Joao Gigante

    Chief Officer:  Marco Spingardi

    Executive Housekeeper:  Olden Forbes

    Executive Chef:  Kevin Green

    Guess Service Mgr:  Gina Yunzal

Concierge:  Virginia Brotherton (she was awesome)

I was in the Haven and our Butler was Choi and Room Steward was Roy, and both were excellent.

Captain is Matko, not Mateo and will probably be headed home around mid Dec.

Dia will be gone January at minimum

  9. If you pay for and upgrade, it is considered a new booking, and you will pay whatever the DSC is now for the suite. If you win a bid nothing changes.

Agreed. “Nothing changes” are the operative words. You won’t get extra perks by upgrading to Haven via bidding.
