  1. I totally agree, but feel that the passenger should tell the Butler and Concierge upfront that they don't wish to have any of their services, so that the Butler and Concierge can concentrate on those guests that do want their services.

But don’t you dare expect to get priority boarding or disembarking or priority tender tickets ;)

  2. We have the Premium All Inclusive package and all our "freebies" are listed on our booking including, water, internet, OBC ,excursions credit and Service charges.

I am confused however about the All inclusive Beverage package & coffee.

Where can I see a list of all the included drinks, including non-alcoholic ones?

Does this mean coffee with meals only or, does it including coffee at any of the bars at any time of day?

Last time I travelled with NCL I remember some ludicrous rule that I could have a Baileys coffee for free but had to pay for a plain black coffee.

I am also assuming that the drinks etc. in the cabin fridge are not part of the package.

Any clarification on this matter would be very welcome.

I don’t believe that Norwegian has added Specialty Coffees to the drink package. Though for the price, they should.

  3. You are talking about Brian Walters? I've sailed with him multiple times as well. I actually have been on an 100 cruises, over 170, but, have cruised all the major lines and spread my travels around. :) I'm almost Ambassador but not any priority with any bookings.

It's a great ride isn't it, and the bargains are out there and wonderful itineraries to enjoy. I'll see what happens with the Joy? (I just got off the POA a couple weeks ago, it's an amazing itinerary)

Yes - Armando and Brian. It is a wonderful ride. We have met some amazing people. I did 5 cruises in my past life many decades ago, 3 with Carnival, 1 with Renaissance and 1 with Radisson Diamond. :) I’m hoping that by 2021, NCL will have a nice 24-35 day cruise from LAX to Hawaii and South Pacific for my 70th birthday. Fingers crossed. :)

  4. No clue. I know there was a promo many years ago where for $1000.00, you could buy the perks. Needless to say, that promo didn’t last long.

I did the Wind in 1994, I think - that reservation is archived. I started cruising with NCL again in 2004 or 2005 and did about 5. In 2008, we were doing 8 a year, b2b2b2b, all kinds of cabins. We’ve been in all but Studio, Oceanview, Deluxe Owner’s Suite and Garden Villa. I have been on all the ships since the deployment of the Sky except for Pride of America and Joy.

We are honored to know the longest standing Hotel Director and the longest standing employee of NCL.

I am one of the original 32 Ambassadors, and David joined me 3 months after the announcement.

We are loyal to NCL and will be celebrating my 70th Cruise on the Breakaway in the Deluxe Owner’s Suite in January. :D

Though we have done TAs, our first maiden will be on the Encore, and before we settle down, we thoroughly expect to do POA and Joy. Happy Cruising !! :D

Oh Lord, did I hijack this ? Sorry mods .

  5. I have sailed on every Norwegian ship built since 1999 and the Wind, except for the POA and the Joy.

She is not the oldest ship in the fleet. She was preceded by the Sky.

The Spirit is a beautiful ship like none other and different from all the rest but shares some similarities with the Dawn Class.

We sailed on her 3 years ago and would sail her again in a heartbeat. Her staff is wonderful under the capable leadership of the longest standing Hotel Director at NCL, Armando da Silva. She was originally built for a Malaysian Princess and in today’s $$$, cost a small fortune to build as her interior is all mahoghany. And allow me to be the first to tell you that the crew work their tails off to keep her shining.

No, she is or will be, if I am not mistaken, the last to get the Norwegian Edge refurbishment (she won’t get that till just before she is redeployed to Asia in 2020).

But please, DON’T let that deter you from having a good time. Your cabin location is great but your itinerary is amazing.

Google Norwegian Spirit and read the Wikipedia highlights. Have an awesome time !! :D

  6. Great list and I believe you caught everything that I did when reviewing the deck plans side-by-side. I thought it might be helpful if you mentioned that the rooms being removed from Deck 15 meant to enlarge the Observation Lounge. It's not entirely obvious from your wording.

Also, I am not convinced they are removing the Atrium Bar entirely. If you look at the video someone posted of the Joy, there is already a Starbucks next to/attached to the Atrium Bar, like the set-up on the Escape. I would be surprised if they actually remove that bar entirely. Maybe just reconfigure it to make the Starbucks a bit larger?

On the Bliss, the Atrium Bar is quite large and is on the same side of the ship as the large screen tv. Starbucks is on other side across from a Guest Services, etc.

  7. I have been on the Epic two times - both times booked in the Deluxe Owner's Suite and received multiple e mails regarding bidding for upgrades. Funny thing is there is no room to upgrade to! So I too am perplexed at some of the wisdom of this bidding thing.

Oh Chloe that isssss funny. :')

  8. We took the inaugural Havana 4 day last May, it was an overnight in Havana. It was a boozy cruise with the required AI, never been around that many drunk people. We saw two people fall down just going to the drill, only been on board a couple of hours.

The new 7 day itinerary is arrive 10am leave at midnight, we are booked for October. We really enjoyed the 2 days in Havana, this new cruise seems like a lot of added beach days. Not really enthused about shore excursions in Belize or Costa Maya, maybe just take the snorkel boat.

I took the new one because it was a free inside cabin, just paid for the OV upgrade. I got it from a casino affinity card program.

Costa Maya has some awesome beach pass places.

  9. I agree, call NCL excursion desk and ask. There could be other reasons it has disappeared off the website. As for the Concierge helping, it is worth an ask but they can not put extra seats on buses just because they want to, so they may not be able to do anything.

Hope you get it worked out, sounds like a wonderful excursion

True, but if there are enough people to warrant another bus, I have seen that too. A boat, not so much. You can also try to book something on your own.

  10. I feel your pain...here is what i do when i want to escalate a call and am told there are no managers there or he/ she is the manager.

I say the following in the most pleasant voice I can muster..."okay...i understand you are telling me there are no managers/ supervisors available at this time...let me ask you...if you were to physically stand up on your desk right now and start screaming and waving your arms around...who would come over and tell you to get down?? let me talk to THAT person.

    its worked every time!!

    ROTFLMAO :loudcry::'):loudcry:

  11. When Joy goes to west coast Jewel will do Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific sailing from Honolulu, Papeete, Sydney, Auckland, Singapore, Hong Kong and Yokohama.

Jade will also reposition to Southeast Asia departing from Singapore and Hong Kong 2019-2020.

Prior to her arrival in China, the Spirit will receive her “Edge” bow to stern revitalization.

    Magnificent news
