  1. Trying to decide if it would be better to spend the night before in a hotel closer to the port in Pireaus, or is transportation easy from Athen to the port on the day of the cruise?

  2. I just booked an 8 night on Beyond for April of 2024.     I chose the all included option which included the classic alcohol, tips and wifi.   I can't find anything on the invoice or on my booking on line that mentions that I have the extras.  Is there an easy way to verify on the website, or on the invoice?  I booked on the phone and used a casino discount and transferred some credits from another cruise so the prices don't match up to the standard pricing.   Thanks

  3. I am trying to contact by email a Yacht Club Director and a Maitre d.   Does MSC use a standard format for ship employees?    If so, does anyone know what it may be.   I have the names, just don't know the correct format.   This would be on US based ship if it makes a difference.  Thanks!

  4. Does anyone know of a way I can contact anyone with the upgrade program?    I placed a bid for upgrade to YC from balcony.  I received an email a few days ago saying the bid was accepted, but the cc was declined.   There was a link tom provide a different mode of payment, which I did, but it's been about 3 days and I haven't heard anything back.    Everything is still showing original room and the new card hasn't been charged.   I tried the main customer service number, and they were clueless.

  5. And the fun continues.   Just spoke with a phone msc rep, who politely informed me that the cruise is going to happen with the listed itinerary.    And the reason it wasn't showing up was it was at capacity.   Just would like to know what is going on, so I can plan for it.    Such a mess.

It appears its not going to happen for us non group people.

The ship is the replacement for the Salsa dance group cruise on the Armonia that is not coming over now from Europe. They have a full ship charter with all their own big time entertainers.

I keep checking "my cruises" list and its still showing so we have not been cancelled yet.....

Per the passenger contract, if they cancel on us for something like this, they need to refund, allow you to book on any available similar cruise in the future exactly what you have now price and amenity wise with no additional cost, or down grade to another cruise with a partial refund.

So if you got a good deal, choose middle option.

So,  I got an Aurea balcony for around $1400.   Looking at the website, there isn't another 7 day Aurea under 2k.  I know that when they canceled all the Covid cruises, the best they offered was 125% on future cruise.

Then I am surprised it's hard to get tests. Walgreens and CVS have them. So do our main grocery store. And pretty much all doctor's offices and urgent cares. Plus, I recently found out that we have a county organization that organizes free testing sites every day....

I live in Tampa and not a single Walgreen or CVS has any avail appointments for Antigen test in the next 2 weeks.  Many have PCR with a timeframe listed for results at 48-72 hrs.    This is what a lot of people are running into.

  8. I booked this cruise as a 7 night while on the Meraviglia last week.  Even the future cruise person on board was dumfounded by the price.  She double checked the pricing and itinerary several times to make sure.   We got Aurea balcony with internet for 2 and $150 OBC for a little less than $1500.  Seemed like a really good deal.   Hope it stands.

Thousands? I'd like to see the math on that one. What cruise ships are running fully unvaxxed?

    OK.   3 weeks =21 days.    Assuming 1 ship a day at Nassau and 1 ship a day at private island.  2 X 21 =42.

Not counting any ships which may stop at Freeport or Bimini

Assuming avg passengers on each ship 1700.    And with minimum of 5% on each ship unvaccinated.   MSC would be more since they are not following 5% rule.   1700X42=71400.   71400 X 5%= 3,570

I'm sorry - this drives me crazy. The Bahamas are making this decision for the SAFETY of their citizens - but hey, for convenience sake, let's not make it effective for 3 more weeks. If it's an EMERGENCY to SAVE LIVES, then it should be effective today. If they really only were doing it for the safety of their citizens, it would begin TODAY and they wouldn't be worried about how it inconvenienced anyone.

I agree 100%.    Not only does the 2 week delay not make sense, by allowing thousands of unvaccinated people to come in and infect their country, but by continuing to allow unvaccinated children in who can spread the virus makes no sense.   They can claim all they want about safety but hedging the rules to minimize business/financial impact is irresponsible.

Just called MSC and the upgrade does NOT include the experience. It only includes the bigger room. I don’t know how they can keep up with that if your in that area. Not worth the extra $ for just the bigger room.

This is a screenshot from the upgrade offer page.  Looks like at least some of the Yacht club experiences are included.  See #3

They had 4200 passengers on the Mardi Gras last week.  Like you said, where do you hold all of these people while they are waiting for results?

Celebrity , MSC, and RC are doing it at the port with no issues..   Results can be had in as little as 15 minutes.    Just saying by doing this Carnival can save their customers a lot of headaches

How is it not Carnival's fault?

They were the ones that hit the panic button by implementing (badly I might add) all these new requirements on people at the last minute without any concern for what it did to their customers vacation plans.  It's their way or the highway.

Until such time they provide a reasonable explanation for not offering testing at the terminal, people have a right to complain about it.

And people certainly have the right to offer clarity on what are vague instructions on masking at best.

I agree.    Carnival could have handled this much better, especially the testing.   I am booked on a MSC cruise and they are providing the rapid testing for free at the embarkation for all passengers.   Just takes away a lot of stress for those traveling and sailing.  I'm ok with the masks, but scrambling to get a test and hoping for a quick turnaround is crazy.  .
