If it's non-refundable my go-to is to use OBC to buy Cruise Next. Makes it even more money off my next cruise.
Oh this is great idea! Thank you!

Thanks you, I will check. So only refundable OBC can be used for DSC?
-
Hi all -
I have a significant amount of OBC from my TA. We have the bev package and the dining package, and we booked our excursions outside the cruise line. Can I use my OBC to pay for the DSC? If not, how would you use the OBC? Can it be used for laundry? Purchases in the shops?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Incorrect. There is an Adults Only pool on the Escape (clearly marked) and a family pool.
Children are not allowed in the adult pool. I saw a few, notified a deck attendant, and they were removed within 5 minutes.
That's what I thought. Main Pool is adults only. The pool near (between?) the slides is all ages. But again, thought I remembered reading that the main pool was sometimes all ages depending on the demographic onboard.

* The kids in the hot tub/adult pool/adult parties! THIS is where i get annoyed. I am done raising young children, i am adult going on an adult trip with all adults that cost a lot of money and i want to hang in adult areas without children. There are areas specified for children as well as programs so adults can have time off. This is just inconsiderate .... please people with younger children, try to understand the rules are there so everyone can enjoy their vacation. NCL does not enforce this enough.... i wish they would. Just a small gripe 🙂
Do you mean kids in the main pool? I have an 11 year old and a 14 year old and am hearing conflicting reports. Some say when there are a lot of kids onboard, they make the main pool all ages. Was this the case or was the signage up indicating adults only? Also, kids are allowed in Spice after a certain time?
I am just making sure so I can tell them what to expect onboard.

Sign in to your Ncl acct then click on your cruise top left corner, then go down a couple inches till you see this line
- Then click on summary. left side of page you will see on boarding spending this is where you will see your amt.
Hmmm, all my OBC must be from TA - I don't even see anything on the summary screen that mentions onboard spending.
-
I cant remember if it was NCL or Princess, but I feel like I was previously able to see my OBC online before I cruised, but it was sort of hidden and I really had to dig for it. Anyone know if this is view-able when I log in and view my reservation? I should add that some of my OBC is from NCL and some from my TA.
TIA!

Yes, ask your TA if you are eligible to add the perk. For Bermuda you can receive the credit up to three times. On other sailings it's every port including disembarking port.
I had the pick 3 and did specialty dining, drinks and wifi. Didn't realize I could still switch one out? Will call and confirm!

This is true with the excursion perk, but not as a general rule: You book you pay.
If you accept the ShoreX credit as one of your perks then you can indeed book via phone and pay onboard. Your OBC would be applied as well as a $50 credit to the cabin account after each excursion taken.
Otherwise to use your TA provided OBC you will need a book onboard.
OK, so I do NOT have the excursion perk; it's merely TA provided OBC - so I must book onboard; got it!

Hi all -
I haven't cruised Norwegian since 2009/2010? And we'll be back in August to cruise to Bermuda aboard the Escape. I have a significant amount of OBC from my TA. If I want to use this for excursions (or anything pre-bookable, really), I have to wait until on-board to book, correct? Should worry about availability? Thank for any help you can provide!

I loved the mushroom risotto I had on the Koningsdam in November 2016. The little pancakes with butter and sugar from the Dutch cafe were divine as well!

Agree with others, request a table for 4 (whatever size your family is). We were in and out in an hour less (this was a week in Caribbean on Regal, Nov 2017). It was almost too speedy (per my husband), but better than too slow!
-
There was a service club meeting on the Regal last week. It was listed in the Patter.

We are boarding Regal today. I will assume since the ship stayed over night that our rooms will actually be ready when we board. We shall see...
I would think so. When we boarded at 11:30 on 11/5, they sent us directly to our rooms,

Comedian? We love comedy shows, what a pleasant surprise. Is this in a lounge? Theater? How often?
It was the "headliner" show that night. Two shows in the Princess Theater. It was only the one night, not sure if that's usual.

Thank you. Hope you had a wonderful cruise! Looking forward to reading all about it.
It was wonderful! Can't wait to share!

No passengers tonight in anticipation of the Ocean medallion cruise tomorrow. About two hundred from corporate on board tonight.
-
I wonder how much it is costing PCL for the security boat to hang out in the Intracoastal channel all night?
Maybe they'll take it out for a spin - a midnight cruise. Might be fun for the crew - no passengers!!
Our assistant waiter said he'd much rather have 4000 passengers than 200 bosses from corporate, lol!

Do you remember who the piano player was at Crooners?
It was Liam Stewart.

With regards to T2 @ Port Everglades... I had heard something about a remodel. Sounds like you were there last in 2015 as were we. Can you describe some of the changes? Particularly the upstairs area where early-arriving Platinums sat out in the open between the gangways and there was a separate room for Suites & Elites (a room I can imagine bursting at the seams for many cruises with high numbers of Elites).
I'm not an elite so didn't see that room. It seemed to me the physical size and configuration of rooms was pretty similar, but all new paint, carpets, chairs (and new sofas along back wall). New video monitors, showing promotional footage. It was quite nice, though it could have been a tad cooler temperature-wise, though that is a personal preference.

What did you do to the ship? It is still in port at 8;15 PM
No passengers tonight, it's staying in port, with about 200 ppl from corporate coming to check on medallion status.

Thank you. Which nights were formal?
It was the first sea day (day 2 if you count embarkation as Day 0) and the then Grand Cayman day (Day 4). Day 5 was Cozumel and we were in port until 10pm, and that day all the dining rooms were anytime dining , open seating, wear whatever, including shorts. We were able to get our usual table and waitstaff thankfully!
-
Which days was the crab shack open?
I think it was Tuesday and Saturday night for sure. Pub lunch was also offered Saturday as well as the $10 royal tea. Lots going on on the last sea day.

butter and berries status?
what about drones?
We had a table for four, four pats of butter. We didn't ask for more but I am confident that we would have been given more if needed.
I never saw berries on buffet, but Saturday morning as I was leaving the buffet I saw a few people with strawberries!
No drones to report, smuggled or otherwise.
Weekend of Aug.24-25 - 3 hot spots!

How are we feeling about Escape out of Manhattan to Bermuda tomorrow? I’m hoping we get it Bermuda ahead of it, and head back to NYC behind it, with hopefully decent weather in Bermuda. Thoughts?
