I absolutely love language! The best jokes are language or punctuation related.
And I say hot pads. I worked in a kitchen for years and that’s what everyone called them (pot holders, oven mitts, oven gloves, etc.)
What is a vest in the uk?
Also, I want to see the men in skirts 😋
A vest is what Onslow used to wear in Keeping Up Appearances...
and please never, ever, ever, refer to a kilt as a skirt !!!

What about pre booking before you come and print out tickets in advance and bring them with you ?

Are you going to cancel and rebook? I did that a while ago during another sale but my $80 credit never showed up on my account or my credit card.
I think we will just leave it as it is - if it had been $115 then that would have been different ! Still niggling though !

An excursion that we booked in May (for September) is now showing as $15 pp less than we paid.

Don't forget that you have a kettle etc in the cabin and you can bring back the green tea bags (or bring on board with you) for totally free. We have always done this. Like others have said, lattees, espressos and cappuccinos are available in the main dining rooms after meals if you would like one - they are fine, if not barista made.

Have a look at the Taj, St James Court - lovely hotel and walkable to lots of sights.
-
Have a look at Citadines - various properties around the city with kitchenette if required. Also Club Quarters St Pauls have rooms with cooking facilities and are quite roomy. We have stayed in both and they are fine.

You will also be able to have a table for two in Britannia - we always have if we have freedom dining which works well for us.

On last year's QM2 world cruise, it was cheaper for us to book two segments individually than it was to book as one trip combined. Check prices first before booking as you can sometimes make a saving.

We did Southampton - Singapore in a Deck 8 balcony and loved it. Perfect position and would recommend. We also had freedom dining but managed to get the same table each night when we wanted it and it worked really well. Not sure I would upgrade as the cabins are more or less exactly the same.

Are there any blogs to follow this year - have searched but haven't found any ?

Did anyone say anything to her ?

The sheltered balconies tend to be darker than the obstructed ones we find, We prefer the obstructed ones as they offer great value for money and you still get lots of light and a view (of sorts) but still with plenty of space to sit out. Friends of ours also had a sheltered balcony and their balcony doors were indeed smaller than the obstructed ones.

Three passengers MUST have a designated cabin for three - it isn't possible to have a cabin for two and then add a cot. It is possible to have a cabin for three (as you will be three) and then add a cot although the extra third bed will also still be there. It will be a little squashed but will still work.
A Britannia Club Balcony is generally exactly the same as a Standard Britannia Balcony in area so should work for you. If you're on the QM2 you can also request open dining for a time to suit you too which is helpful with a toddler.

Worth ringing and asking.

Earlier this year we had ours allocated the day before sailing - but it was fine and we would book one again without any hesitation.

Have done this but not in New York. They gave us a hanging trolley (whatever it is called) and the steward moved this for us. Other things we packed in suitcases.

Yes you can do this - we did one to Dubai and the the second, leaving from Dubai. We were lucky and were allocated the same cabin (after a muddle but that's another story.) The day before the 2nd cruise we were told to collect new boarding cards in advance. We didn't need to disembark but were going on an excursion anyway so used the new cards when re boarding. If you have different cabins you will need to repack most of your things in your suitcases but anything that can be hung on hangers can be transferred by luggage trolley. Your cabin steward will help with the transferring or arrange someone to do it for you.
The reception desk consistently told us incorrect information but this is how our experience worked out. You should be fine!

We did two segments earlier this year _ Southampton/Dubai and Dubai/Singapore and had internet credited each segment.
We also did a B2B Transatlantic and again had two lots of internet time credited. Perhaps we were lucky !!

Sometimes the Cunard pages work better with Chrome rather than Edge ?
-
We were credited per segment - it renewed each time. Hope this helps.

Tipping Southampton Porters
in British Isles/Western Europe

Tip for driver of private car ? We give the luggage porters a small tip if they are physically moving our luggage out of the boot of the car for us - if they give us time that is !
