I too took a flat iron and curling iron. They were unplugged and left out to cool and no one said a word about them not permitted on board.

Casual chic is all you need. No really "dressy" clothes or high heels needed at all.
For the Terrace Cafe and Waves, you can even wear shorts.

Not really, my hand carry luggage space is too valuable to waste with water bottles. I don’t need to feel good about myself and keep refilling a nasty germ ridden container all the time. I’m fine with single use bottles. Enjoy your koolaid.
The bottle doesn't have to go in your luggage. I drink a lot of water and have no problem carrying my water bottle in my hand. I like to have water to drink on the plane.
NO need for your snide Koolaid remark.

Not seeing the list, I asked for a martini. Server said it’s not on the list. He said that I couldn’t get it. What? Just bring it. I will pay for it. That was the welcome party!
We ordered martinis at the Captain's Party on Riviera in March. The waiter delivered it with no issue.

I know it says six bottles, but there are people who bring a case of wine and nothing is said about it.

I said enough loungers to satisfy demand, not one per pax. Regent seems to have enough to satisfy demand - which is far less than one per pax. They just don't have enough in the shade. Hence a shortage - hence hoarding (i.e. chair hogs). My point is you're always going to have a problem with chair hogs as long as demand exceeds supply.
That's the issue we had on Riviera. There were plenty of chairs and MANY more on the sun deck above. The problem was finding a chair in the shade.

It is not dressy.
Men don't need jackets. Just nice slacks and a shirt with sleeves.
Women can wear nice slacks and a pretty top.

No better to let the pax do it & end up in the Medical center (extra revenue) 😈
If you tell the TA or O rep when you book you want 2 single beds it usually will be set up when you arrive
do not wait until you are onboard on day 1 to ask the crew are very busy
We requested the beds be separated as soon as we booked the cruise. We were told the nightstand couldn't be moved between the beds. I doubt my back would have been able to handle moving it myself . I sent this email four months before our cruise....It also included some other requests our which I delete. We were in a Penthouse....
Hello,
I would like to make some requests for our upcoming cruise. We will be sailing on the Riviera March 2, 2023. Our booking number is
We also need the beds separated. I don't know how much furniture in the room can be moved, but if the night stands can be put in between the beds, it would be great. We'd like the beds to be as far apart as possible.
Thank you for your help with these matters.
They responded that everything would be taken care of, however......no dice.

I had asked if a nightstand could be moved between the beds, but no dice. I think they are built into the wall.
You still have your bed to yourself so no once will be stealing your covers, or rolling onto your side.

Do they not put one of the bedside tables between them?
No, there is NO space between the beds. The nightstands are on either side of the beds.

They can make them up separately but they are still RIGHT NEXT to each other. No space in between.

Just coming off Marina after a 15 day cruise in a Concierge Veranda cabin. In my opinion the weakest point is the bathroom and the miniscule shower. At least there's no way you can fall over in the shower!
We visited a vacant Penthouse Suite with a view to potentially upgrading our next cruise and was shocked to find the same miserable bathroom as our veranda stateroom though obviously the rest of the cabin is a marked improvement, particularly the walk-in closet which is a major improvement on the largely inaccessible closet in the veranda stateroom.
If the Marina rehab is anything like the Riviera rehab, the PH bathrooms will have a very large, wonderful shower.

I usually travel with my sister and when we make our reservations, we ask for shared tables. On our cruise on Riviera last March we were only seated with other people two times out of seven reservations.

Sthrngary--I also enjoy reading your posts and appreciate your knowledge about Oceania. I seem to recall a discussion about tipping. Here is the question. If you give a tip to cabin steward or bartender, do they get to keep it OR does it go into some kind of "tip pool" that is combined with the automatic gratuity?
I don't know the exact answer, but if my butler or cabin steward goes above and beyond and I give them a tip for that, I want it to go directly to them.

We did not book a specialty restaurant for our first night, but were easily able to get a reservation at the Reservations desk after we boarded.

Can you still book cruise only with no Simply More?
You can book without air, but there is no true cruise only option with Simply More.

"Oceania" is not really helpful as a source of this information. Does that mean a phone conversation? If so, apply however many grains of salt you wish. Is it in some official announcement document we can verify? I booked a cruise onboard on November 17. So presumably we have 30 days to transfer to a TA. Unless Oceania really has changed the policy effective December 1, and it intends to apply this change retroactively. So, I would be interested in tracking down the actual source of this information.
Tom & Judy
I suggest you call Oceania and get the information from them directly.

Last March we also docked at Amber Cove when Puerto Plata was listed. They said the weather and rough water is what caused the change in the docking location.
-
We too got an extra specialty reservation on embarkation day. Just go to the desk and ask.
You can also ask the maître d' at any of the restaurants for more reservations.

can honestly not remember, but are there formal nights on Oceania? We dress nicely each evening, but do not wish to dress formally. Thank you!

Interesting. I called in advance and was told NO, it will not be allowed. The referenced their contract of service which says it will be confiscated and held until disembarkation. I guess it depends on who is manning the gangway.
I know several people who have brought hard alcohol aboard O ships. I never saw them question anyone about it when boarding.

Seems we might have a mini-outbreak of Covid as we move into autumn. Like the seasonabl flu. Probably wearing a mask in airports and when boarding is a good idea? I do hope by April (when we sail) it will be history.
I don't know that it will ever "be history". It seems to be around for good.

When we sailed in March, we had no problem getting an IPad. They aren't actually IPads, but Windows tablets .
I just went down to the customer service desk and asked for one. They charged it and our butler connected it to the wifi.

We had chateaubriand in the MDR the last night of the cruise. It was wonderful!
Penthouse vs. Concierge

We prefer the Penthouse because the room is bigger and has a larger shower as well.
Having a butler is great. Ours checked in with us at least once a day to see if we needed anything. We never requested dinner in our cabin, but he did get us several extra dining reservations.
