  1. Yes I know ...I complained twice to reception but nothing was done :-(
Well that's not good enough on P&O's part. I understand how irritating it can be even as an ex smoker myself. On a cruise a couple of years ago we had a smoker next door on Ventura who would push his ashtray under the balcony onto our side when he had stubbed it out. Needless to say he didn't do it again after the second time;)

Not received it Pat, tell us more, like can you do a 21nighter for instance? Sounds a bit like the figure of eight cruises they were doing a couple of years ago on Azura in the Caribbean:cool:

  3. We were due to have two Smart, Jacket required evenings on our Adonia cruise next February. We have just had a letter from P&O saying that there will not be any Smart evenings and the rest will be Formal and Evening Casual.

Same for us on Adonia Trans-Atlantic in October. We were due 4 Jacket required but had an e-mail last week to say they were no more to help with our packing. Not been told what the replacement will be as Personaliser is only showing 3 formal. On a 3 week cruise really?

  4. We haven't heard that yet - it seems to me that customer service is now very low down on P&O's priorities. We were disappointed enough at losing some formal nights, and now the jacket required evenings are gone, too. Everything looks so special when people are dressed up a bit - we might as well book Easy Cruise. It looks as though we shall have to defect to Cunard if we want a bit of glamour.

Hoping that we will get a few more than 3 formal nights now. Can't think that we will get 18 smart casual. After all, we have enough sea days:cool:

  5. Help, please! We have been very disappointed to learn that Charleston has been omitted from Adonia's transatlantic cruise because 'Charleston have advised that a berth will no longer be available for our use'. What's this all about? The cruise timetable destination site says that there aren't any other ships in on the 3rd November, so we're at a loss - did someone forget to book us in?! We were already disappointed that there are only three formal nights on a three week cruise, and to lose one of the ports that was our reason for booking this trip in the first place is very frustrating. We know that ports of call are never guaranteed, but Port Canaveral and Miami are not good substitutes for a historic city like Charleston. Has anyone got any ideas? P&O are in serious danger of losing two very loyal passengers.

Also on this cruise and also a little disappointed about Charleston and Jacksonville as these were new ports to us. Nothing on the excursions yet so not sure what we are doing in the new ports but there is always a beach if nothing else new. Also confused by only three formal nights on this cruise as we were led to believe that Adonia was a little bit more formal than some of the family orientated ships in the P&O fleet where two formals a week is the norm.

Sue will be rather peed off if they add additional formal nights while we are on board as she will have to wear the same dress twice and will have to launder my dress shirts:eek: Never mind though we will be on holiday for 21 nights :)

  6. Thanks. Its strange they class that as obstructed at all.

Well we were pretty pleased Kevin. When I phoned P&O to book direct our Personal cruise consultant(or whatever they are called, ours changes everytime I call) actually recommended this cabin as he was familiar with it. You see they can have their uses;)

  7. We had G417 which was booked as an obstructed view and is right above the Java coffee bar. There is no lifeboat to obstruct your view but what you do get is a few pax looking up from the outside area one deck below where you can sit with a coffee You cannot see the seats from your balcony as the roof of the coffee lounge is in the way. I will have a look at Sues photos to see if there is a shot showing this and will post if I can find one (only about 500 to look through:eek:)

  8. helpthejuggler thank you for your reply.

Phil , Mohammed e-mailed me and he has invited Scott and myself to spend the day as his guests from 10am -5pm on Sunday onboard the Britannia when she is docked in Greenock. He is on duty therefore unable to leave the ship but instead we are joining him onboard. We have the opportunity to brows around the ship at our leisure and enjoy all of the facilities available. As you know we had already visited the Britanna in May for lunch and an escorted tour which was a whistle stop tour. This time we can brows about on our own at our leisure, needless to say we are very excited. In May whilst onboard I had already made enquiries regarding the seating arrangements for the Limelight Club and happy to say that as there is up till now 16 of us joining Scott and Janice on their birthday, seating arrangements are still to be finalised. Maybe by the time Nov arrives the 'Pinkies' will have taken over the Limelight Club for that evening.

Phil do you know how the booking work ?

If I reserve 6 will I get the 10% off the six bookings even though all might not be on 10% discount ? Otherwise will it be 10% off per booking or % discount according to whatever discount the others will be entitled to ?

Can Scott also reserve 6 places or is it only six per cabin ?

Otherwise can we individually book 6 each overall 12 reservations in total ?

Once you have worked that one out can you let me know [emoji106] sitting here [emoji23] away. Just had another thought will ask Mohammed when I see him on Sunday.

Wish you both were joining us. Hopefully we will be joining you next Nov in the Caribbean is it the 11th on Azura. ?

Thanks again Phil for your assistance regarding contacting Mohammed for me.

    Regards Pat x:)

Glad that Mohammed got in touch. He said he was going to and knew it was in Greenock that you were meeting up. Can't say that I know the answer to your question, maybe you need to phone P&O. I would think that you can prebook as many spaces as you want as long as you pay up front. Might see you on Azura next year then all being well. Enjoy Britannia, she really is beautiful as you already know

  9. There are 4 menus which are available on the cruise personaliser. They rotate but we did not know which was available before we went.

1 menu per night but enough choice. Everyone has the same trio of desserts.

That answers your question Pat. The answer for the next one is a maximum of 6 and they are positioned on the fringes of the limelight club. Watch out I can read your mind

  10. On B511 we saw Madeline Bell and Jaki Graham.

Madeline's Pianist was sick so she played without accompaniment or backing track (she explained she dislikes backing tracks). We enjoyed the show but there was less complete songs than we were expecting. It was short bursts and more like an audience with Madeline.

Overall very talented but we wished she had sung more songs.

Jaki Graham was our favourite night onboard. Playing with her Musical Director Andre they had us captivated.

Loads of fantastic soul classics and some funny interaction with the audience. We even stayed afterwards for a quick chat with Jaki who clearly is enjoying 'Jaki's club'.

Whoever you see it is a great venue, seats are allocated as you arrive.

Just avoid seats blocked by a couple of columns.

Food is good but is not the main reason to go.

It starts at 7.00 and lasts until around 10.30.

We were also two of the "twenty five" people in the audience for Madeline Bell on the Saturday and have to applaud here for doing her act in acapella mode instead of just cancelling the show. Guess as it was the first night of the cruise was the reason it was not well attended but the waiting staff said the second night was fully booked

Have to agree the food was very good but limited to 2 starters, 3 mains and a trio of deserts. I should also add that you can go into the limelight club at 11.00 as a casual punter after the entertainment has finished and that it would an idea to get there early to secure a good table :)

  11. Due to an emergency at home we self disembarked for the first time about 5 years ago and have done so ever since. I like it because you can keep your cases so there isn't the same pressure about when to pack and there isn't any waiting around. The early start usually prompts me to be in the buffet before the crowds too. There is usually a queue to get off but it doesn't take long once they start letting people through. You have to be able to take your own cases but we have those with a pull cord so it's not too onerous. I haven't self disembarked on Britannia yet but will be doing so in four weeks time so I will let you know if it was a smooth operation!

We are on Britannia next week and are looking to self disembark early as we have a birthday bash to get to. Can you leave your cases in your cabin while you breakfast as I seem to remember having to vacate your cabin quite early when you land back at Southampton
