  1. Super!

I knew about Hugo, Yannis, Barrington and Vik.

I didn't know if Hugo's move was public or not.

I am happy for Yannis - he will be close to home. :)

I am sad for us. :(

We were so so looking forward to seeing Yannis.

He deserves a permanent HD. We think he is great.

I thought Captain Fafalos was there and we are thrilled.

He is one of our favorite Captains.

You have filled in a lot of other blanks.

    Thank you so much.

I found out that Lorena (Asst. CD) has moved to the Epic - lucky them, sad for us.

We like her a lot also.

    Judy

So does this mean that Yannis is finally a FULL HD...no longer an Associate doing 1/2 time HD and 1/2 time F&B?

SO was anyone on this cruise.

It looks like the reviewer made up a new CC name to post it:rolleyes:

Yes I was on this cruise.

Quite honestly, this was the BEST CRUISE I HAVE EVER TAKEN!!!

The Cruise Critic group onboard was AMAZING!!!

    The entire crew was FABULOUS!!!

YES, the was a noro virus outbreak and the crew did what they had to do. I was fine while onboard but came down with it once I got home. It is what it is and I don't fault the crew or NCL ONE BIT!!!

Yes there were about 30 passengers with lost luggage but this is the fault of the airlines, NOT NCL.

Also, if folks remember, air travel ACROSS THE COUNTRY was a mess that week...in fact my father who was coming to stay with my kids while I was gone was stuck in Newark for THREE DAYS!!!!

Anyway, too bad this person had a bad experience...I thought the cruise was amazing and fabulous and the people amazing and fabulous...I could go on gushing and gushing...

And this was my THIRD time on the Star...YES she is older and she will go into dry dock next year for updating...but people...like everything else in life...IT'S ALL WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT!!!!!

  4. Yes...last year they offered and unlimited dinning package for $99 per person. You could eat in any of the specialty restaurants each night...as many times as you wanted as a matter of fact...we LOVED it and were hoping they were still doing this. At the time, the HD had stated that it was going to be rolled out fleet wide. There were some mentions of this last year here but I can't find any threads...we were just wanting to know if they were still doing it.

    Thanks!

  5. I heard from Yannis Kazalis (current HD on the Star) and he was originally supposed to be leaving the Star this coming weekend, but has been extended through October 13. He will return to the Star December 8th, probably in the role of AHD/F&BD for the first two months.

Lots of shuffling with Getaway coming out.

Actually that's not entirely correct...NCL finally got it right..Yannis Kazalis will be a FULL Hotel Director when he returns to the Star on December 8th. Congratulations to Yannis on a VERY well deserved promotion!!!

  6. We'll be in Cozumel next month, and are planning on Chankanaab for the day. Unfortunately, with our 5 kids we can't afford to pay full price for the dolphin swim or encounter. I see on the dolphin discovery site that they have a buy one get one for $1 for Norwegian passengers. (We're RCCL)

Does anyone have experience with how they verify how you got on the island? :) Do they really care? I'd be surprised if NCL was giving them a kickback -- more likely that they have agreements with all the other lines not to discount for those passengers...

I was just there on Dec. 23rd and booked the day for me and my kids directly with the park. They asked at the time of my booking how I was getting there and where I was staying. I told them we were going to be at a local resort but was unsure of the name. They never asked again, even when we checked in. It wasn't an issue at all.

  7. You can book directly with Jorge 866-393-5158 ext 123...he is great. There is also a $159 per person special to do the Dolphin Royal Swim, and swim with the sea lions and swim with the manatees....all for $159 if you book through him (his is with Dolphin Discovery). The regular price is $249. Great deal and they will take you from one to the other.!

Just called and spoke with "Jorge" his first question was, how are you getting here? I lied and told him we were staying at a resort in Cozumel. We booked the same interaction: Dolphin Royal Swim, Swim with the Sea lions and interaction with the Manatees. Price was $159 PP, just like you said!

    Can't wait...my kids will love it..and so will I!

    Regards,

    Natalie
