BTW…getting strong Verizon signal and LTE speeds in Skagway. Cruise Critic, while better, is still slower than all of the other WEB sites I visit!

Skagway is about ⅓-½ mile from the ship….maybe a 10 minute walk. So, instead of waiting for the bus, I hoofed it. Nice, brisk and chilly hike to warm the body!

Latitude Members-Gold and above I believe, we’re allowed to get an early escort off the ship. Good news/bad news…no crowds….the town doesn’t really open until 9:00! Another tip…if you can’t get the White Pass train at the time you prefer, buy it in town. They have openings. I ran back to the ship to get a refund on my 2:00 excursion. Got one leaving earlier in town. After discounts from NCL, pricing is similar. But, the schedules are available in town that NCL may not be able to get! There is netting and barriers around where the rock slide occurred.

Not sure there is any difference between pre purchase or purchase on board. The other internet sites seemed to work better than Cruise Critic. But, WiFi quality is pretty poor overall. Personal opinion….shut your phone down while on board and use whatever’s available when you dock (as I am now). Save yourself $100+!

Unfortunately, special requests for things like pics of officers are difficult to to accommodate, given how tough it is to post pics and even to log in. I’ll post other pics that y’all might find interesting, when the opportunities become available. Everyone, crew and guests, have been fantastic so far, needless to say! Sorry about the multiple posts, and to keep harping, but if you are going to chaerge me for the top internet plan, at least make it marginally workable. Took me 20 mins to post the above pics. And it took me another 15 mins just to log on to Cruise Critic. I get it. If you don’t want to host live reports, just say so! Onward…Texas Q was very good. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The sides were all quite tasty. Service was great. What more can you ask for?

Found it. Less obtrusive than on the AWAY ships!

Not sure what is going on. But, synching Cruise Critic with the ship’s WiFi seems to be the issue! I’m using Verizon LTE right now given we’re docked. LTE is slow, but at least I can post pics. Plus, I’m able to log in using LTE, which I couldn’t do earlier!

Spicy? Yes! But that’s the way I like my Mary’s!😉

So, not sure how many more pics I can post. Cruise Critic isn’t playing nice. I’m having difficulty signing in and my pics are actually disappearing once I try to post them. WiFi is relatively strong ….10mbps down and 4mbps up. Something is awry with Cruise Critic.

Great evening hanging out with new cruise friends spotting whales from the Observation Lounge while listening to a great jazz pianist/vocalist!!!!!

Side note…we missed Spring Break. Not many children/teens around…a few, but overall, pretty scarce!
