  1. So, just took another gander at the White Pass TRAIN excursion. Showed back up in my planner. Only, this time, it's for 2:00 p.m. Was worried about the other offering being late in the day (5:00 p.m.). Snagged the 2 time slot. Early for me, but snagged show reservations for SIX (4/25@7) and Jersey Boys (4/26@6:30). Probably wait until I board to look at any specialty dining. Have 5 SPDs... -LeBistro complements of AMEX -Courtesy of FAS and Latitudes...looking at Ocean Blue, Food Republic, Teppenyaki and Q Smokehouse. Things could change, but I'm thinking I'm not even going to dine in any of the MDRs this trip.
  2. I think the guest capacity is somewhere around 4,000. Going from memory.
  3. Thank you. The link is amazing. I’m so excited, I may go out and buy new skivvies for this trip.
  4. -not supposed to put decorations on your cabin door. Never seen it enforced, though. Doesn’t mean they don’t enforce it. Just, I’ve never seen it. Maybe it is enforced, and I just don’t notice it. Personally, I don’t care. -2 drinks at a time. They will ask to see your cabin card to see if you have the drink package -Rotating food items on each menu, and some that are static throughout the cruise -Once you check in, you’ll be assigned a time to do so. I don’t think it matters when you do your check in. There seems to be a formula they use for check in times. I know I’m always assigned an early check in. But, that may be because of my Latitudes level (Sapphire). IT doesn’t really matter, though. As, they don’t start boarding until around 11:30 a.m. And, they board as follows… -Ambassador Level -Diamond, Sapphire, Platinum (maybe Gold?) -Silver, Bronze -General boarding In short, unfortunately if you’re new to NCL, you’ll be one of the last groups to board, regardless of what time your check in was.
  5. I dunno? Can’t clone cash…can’t steal its identity….don’t need ID to spend it…etc!!!
  6. Spent too many years (decades) filling every little bit of my Outlook calendar every single day. When I retired, decided I was going to go the opposite way. Especially on vacation, I stay flexible. Another reason I like NCL’s Freestyle.
  7. Just a guess, but I think instead of making any of their regulations a tedious exercise in “you can do this, but not that” for security when you come on board, it’s a flat “no plants, no seeds, no animal, no fish, etc” blanket rule. I get it. I don’t know if it’s petty. Any organic virus that could be transmitted from a one of the ports, onto the ship, can be devastating. They’re just trying to eliminate as many sources as possible that could cause that.
  8. Hope that’s the case. Just saw the White Sail Pass excursion is not showing on my excursion page. That either means it’s canceled, or sold out. Did kind of want to do it again with the snow still on the ground. Maybe they can’t get it cleared?
  9. Not certain, but I thought I saw a post stating that the Bliss will be the only ship in port in at least part of the itinerary.
  10. Looks like we're going to be full. Just checked and saw the only cabins left are a few on Deck 9 and 14....all inside cabins.
  11. Spoke with NCL yesterday to clear up any confusion about my Latitudes 15% off Excursions. With the FAS $50 credit for excursions, adding the 15% off, the excursion cost aren’t the crazy cost they appear to be at first glance. Still not bargains, but with the con Venice and protection of booking through NCL, not a bad deal.
  12. That works, too. I don’t check my roll aboard or backpack. I check in later usually, and take my bags right to the cabin.
  13. Hoo-Boy….I’m an outlier. I bring well into 4 figures. But, I tend to play in Hold’Em Cash Games every night. But, as others said, if you’re not in the casino every night, probably a few hundred for cash tips to bartenders, shore personnel, etc. Ones ($100), Fives ($150) and Tens ($250) is $500. That should work. Personally, I give my cabin steward $100 of that.
  14. Luggage tags can be put on your luggage at the pier. Just tell the porter at the drop off area what your room number is. Drop him a fiver and he’ll send it on its way.
  15. NCL never sent a welcome letter…not even a welcome back post it note. LOL!
  16. Depends on if there’s something I really, really want to do in order for me to pre-book. Being on a cruise, I stay pretty loose and flexible. Depends….if it’s the Caribbean. I have favorites who I use once I disembark. So I don’t use the ship’s excursions. But, I’ve been to the Caribbean ports several times and know what to expect, and where to go. Although, I went to Alaska last year, I’m not as familiar with their offerings. So, I’ll use NCL’s excursions…..especially given there’s some questions surrounding Skagway after the rock slide.
  17. Thank you! The timing of that excursion makes more sense, now.
  18. Great review so far. And, you’re staying in one of the best and nicest cabins on the ship. You get all the Haven perks without paying the Haven price. Looking forward to the rest of the review. Thanks!
  19. So, starting to really crank up the planning. For some of you, knowing that I’m just starting to look at excursions, entertainment and dinner planning is blasphemous. But, I’m not a “planner”. I prefer to book, fly to the port, get on board, wander around a bit, and then decide what I want to do, what I want to see, and what I want to drink/eat. Anyway, looking at the White Pass Railway excursion in Skagway, it has changed times of departure to 2-ish p.m. It’s a nearly 3 hour train ride. Trying to find out when we depart Skagway, but am confounded to find that information. But, given we dock at 7:00 a.m., that means we would probably have to depart somewhere around 7:00 p.m. in order for the train excursion to have enough time. Am I thinking right?
  20. Got all my pins from the Cruise Next desk from the person. who also helped as my “concierge”!
