  1. Boarding..my “rule of thumb” still holds true. Getting to the port before about 10:30 and you’re in for a wait….in a crowded waiting area! We are on board the Haven. But, we are the first to board. Probably be another 15-20 minutes for the rest of the cabins. So, let’s call it 11:00 a.m. for the crowd to thin. Shoot for 11 to get to the pier checkin and walk on board!
  2. And….had to take the Air BnB ride to the port. Don’t like getting to the port this early. This is why. But, Air BnB to the Have waiting area…15 mins. We’re waiting to board in the Haven waiting area…
  3. More AirBnB …nice place, nice area, about 15 mins from pier! $175 incl breakfast!
  4. For this of you in the Apple ecosystem, can’t recommend this gadget enough for MagSafe enabled tools. One cord, USB-C needed. that’s it!

  6. Wanted to give a special shout out to Galveston Saltwater Moms. Small family transport run mainly by….well…a local Mom…Lori. On time, pleasant, nice vehicle, competitive pricing (albeit cash only), great communication. Highly recommended! Look them (her) up on social media!
  7. Reading comprehension is your friend. Run through the posts in order and read them. You’re Welcome! Haven (or any cabins) fares are dependent on lots of variables..is it Hurricane season for the ship sailing from FL? Is school for the youg’uns on or out? Is the ship new or older? What’s the length of the cruise? Some itineraries have generally lower fares than others. To say there’s a general rule of thumb or some sort of “sale” (regardless of what’s on the NCL front page) of you wait is not something anyone should wait for. I’ve done it….amd got burned…more than once. The only real hard and fast truism about fares were when they were being steeply discounted after the COVID restart! There are deals out there. You just have to shop hard to find them. And when you find one, don’t hesitate!
  8. The George House where I’m staying. Lots of history and the host was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the house.
  9. About an hour ride from HOU to Galveston. Traffic was not an issue. Good on you HOU!
  10. Yay!!!!!! Will see you guys tomorrow at the Whiskey Bar. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone!
  11. (sigh) That’s the actual reservation I posted. I found the fare on NCL’s web site. Booked it through a TA! Book the way you want! I’m done!
  12. Web site went haywire..This was 4 months ago…
  13. Can’t believe I dig this out. But Can’t believe I searched and dug this up. But I hate being called a liar….
  14. On the the jet to HOU. Maybe a sign of what’s to come? Upgraded me to Comfort Plus!🕺
  15. She’s really good about doing her business outside….even in the rain. Only when she gets over excited (like a house full of people) does she tend to have accidents.
  16. One leg down….2:45 layover in ATL. Should be in Galveston around 4.40-ish! Little more crowded at ATL…
  17. Therein is the issue. I don't even consider that a deal. I had a 2BR Haven Suite on Epic Mediterranean for 11 nites this past October for less than $5K ($4,800 I think was the number I recall). It was booked 5 months from final payment. If I had waited just 2 more days, same cabin type the fare doubled. $5K/cabin is my cutoff for Haven suites.
  18. I agree… Unfortunately, I am a chronic cruise fare shopper. The lat 18 months or so, I’ve had to work hard….really hard, to find Haven deals. They’re there. But you have to be open in ships, dates and itineraries!
