Some people will say yes, some will say no. There is no way of knowing until you get to the port. It’s more than you have right now, so try it! The US government says a photocopy of a birth certificate is acceptable.
- ...The birth certificate can be original, photocopy, or certified copy.
Can I please ask, where did you get this info about it being ok to have a photocopy? Can you give me the link or point me in the right direction? Thank you!!!

Is there a way to fax something to the NCL counter at the port? Just found out that the fax machine at this crappy hotel does not work!!!
-
Help! One of the people cruising with me today left her passport at home! If you can get a copy of her BC faxed to hotel, will NCL accept this??
-
Yes, that makes sense. But on the actual booking page on NCL, January 5th on the Breakaway, cabin for 4. Why do some Suite cabin categories say not available? What does this mean? There is sold out, not available and the forward facing suites show available, but no staterooms are available to select when you select that category
It may be that some of those suites do not accommodate 4 people.
-
Well folks, I don't have a clue as to what happened. But all of the Haven suites are now showing on the website again!
So, chalk this one up to NLC website issues? No, that can't be the reason! Right? RIGHT??

If you were going to try to bid for an upgrade, then no matter when you were going to do it, wouldn't you have run the risk that the Haven sold out before that?
The only way to guarantee getting what one wants is to reserve it at the start.
Bidding wouldn't have guaranteed anything for you, even if there were Haven suites still available.
So you aren't any worse off than what you chose to risk in the first place.
Yep, I understand all that.....but thanks.
That's what I said I was "hoping to try the upgrade bidding program." I did NOT say I was hoping to get a Haven cabin.
I realize there are no guarantees. But with all that is being discussed here on CC about the program, this is my first cruise since this bidding started, so I was curious to actually see it for myself. Not just read about it. I'm happy with the BA cabin I have and just wanted to see how it works.
But my original question was, how could the Haven have sold out 30+ cabins in just a day or two.
-
I have been watching my cruise almost daily for price drops. (December 3rd, Getaway)
Don't remember if it was yesterday or Saturday, but over the weekend, I checked again, and saw availability in all categories, as usual.
Now, I didn't go through and count every Haven cabin available, but the last time I did, maybe a week ago? There were SEVERAL in all categories available. I'm talking maybe 30 or more Haven cabins offered.
So, how could the Haven be completely sold out just in the last couple of days?? I was hoping to try the upgrade bidding program when it was time.
Maybe a big group got them all?? I guess there's no way to tell that is there?
Oh well, just a little disappointed. :(

My only two cruises so far with NCL, were in Owner's Suites on Dawn, thanks to the Upsell Dept! (may she rest in peace. :loudcry: )
I have a cruise booked in Dec and am currently in a mid-ship Balcony, so I'm hoping for a chance for the upgrade bidding, but we'll see.
I will admit.... If we don't upgrade, it will really be hard going back to just a balcony room. No butler, no LARGE bed and big bathrooms, free liquor, water, and soft drinks, etc... Just typing that, I got teary eyed. :o

I just started using the Montreal Steak seasoning. That's why the issue has never come up in my past 30+ years of cruising, smart ass.
OH BUUUUUUURRRRRNNNN!
But seriously, I was wondering why the snarky question myself.
-
Yes they go back into your account as long as it is within the normal cancellation period

Good to know, thank you! (y);)

Just curious...
I want to book our next cruise with our certificates, now that you can apply two for balcony, six months out.
But there is a possibility of having to cancel due to a couple of personal things on the back burners.
If I cancel (before final payment) do they just give me back my cruisenext certificates?
Thanks!

Can you apply a deposit when reserving online or do you have to call and have them apply it for you?
So............uh.........anyone? Anyone?? :o
-
You can do it on any cruise actually.......use 1 for deposit then go in to make payment and it will allow you to apply a 2nd one as payment
Can you apply a deposit when reserving online or do you have to call and have them apply it for you?

Was there any noise from the pool or other areas in your suite 12520? Considering an upsell to an Owners Suite 12502. Any problems with foggy windows. Any info would be helpful. Currently have an aft suite on deck 10. On the fence with this deal.
We were in 12502 Dec 11th 2016 sailing. Windows were not foggy or dirty. We loved the view of looking out over the bow of the ship, especially coming in to ports.

Kevin Sheehan was the boss of NCL when these venues appeared on the newer ships, starting with Epic.
Ahh........
I did not know it had to do with anyone's name. I googled this recently and the only sites I found that had that name in it were NCL sites or cruise related sites, all talking about the restaurant. I wasn't aware that there was an actual person with this name.
Thanks!

Just off Dawn on Friday.
We ate at O'Sheehan's several times. While I was there one day, I thought about this.
Is O'Sheehan's specific to NCL? Not a land based chain, right?
I just wondered if they named it that as a play on words of the word "Oceans." :o
Your thoughts? :D
-
True. But for the life of me, since we are talking real live money here, why some continue to argue.
Here are our TA OBCs for the next 5 bookings. Nothing more than plain vanilla balcony cabins (no minis, no suites). Any OBC from the cruise line would be additional (and all direct bookers would get).
$550
$100
$150.
$200
$400
For the poster who "didn't believe" that I had saved "thousands" in 65 cruises, those total $1400 in only 5 sailings.
Can I please ask two questions?
One, are the cruises you listed above 7 day cruises or maybe longer?
Two, for the larger amounts listed above, $550/400, what happens to the onboard credit from your travel agent if a portion of it goes unused? Lost? Pay out? other?
Thanks!

And where does one see this aforementioned Dawn Webcam?
-
Well, I'm on the Dawn a week from today!:D
And I have followed your review, always sitting on the edge of my.......mouse?? :p
But this is fantastic and like others have said, you made me even more excited for my upcoming cruise.
A HUGE thank you Doug! Have a safe trip home. ;)
-
Doug, is the ship decorated in any way for Christmas??
Haven't seen any that I recall of your posted pictures.

Back in the room, and meet our butler (not a fan of that term, so from now on he will simply be our "friend") - Henry. What a sweet guy.
Henry! Great guy! We had him in January of this year out of NOLA.
If I remember correctly, a bit of a "high talker" :p
Hey, TheDougOut, can I ask you, does that suite have folding walls that come out and separate the bed from the rest of the room? It looks like it has folding walls on both sides. Just wondering if that's what it does.
Thanks!
-
I know there is the phone number to call and I have that.
But can you also email them and ask about current offers and make an offer yourself?
I'm not talking about the bidding process. I'm on a ship that, thankfully, has not gone to that yet.
Does anyone have the email address? (it it exists?)
Thanks!
-
Definitely following! :D
Will be on the Dawn in two weeks!!
Soooooooo ready! ;)
HELP!!! Cruising today. One in our Party left Passport at Home!

UPDATE!!!!
She never found the BC at home through the friend looking for it. Was able to fax over pics of PP, marriage certificate and had her drivers license with her. We waited about half an hour, on pins and needles, with blood pressure rising. And finally.....
THEY ACCEPTED THOSE AND LET HER BOARD!
We’re eating a very happy lunch right now in O’Sheehans! :D
