  1. First, OP, I also would like to encourage you to go ahead an quit smoking. I did so many years ago, I've forgotten how many! and I know my life has been more enjoyable because of it.

I'd also like to say, that if more smokers had your attitude towards others, I don't think we'd ever have a problem. It's the "it's my right to smoke so you just shut up and deal with it" in your face kind of people that give smokers a bad rap.

  2. I know OP has probably gotten all the replies needed, but I'll chime in.

I have not been on Dream, but have been on 4 Carnival cruises. Then one day, I stepped on to Voyager for my first Royal cruise. I was so impressed, that while on that cruise, I booked my next Royal cruise, which was on Navigator. While on Navigator, I booked my next cruise, which leaves next Saturday on Serenade! :D

Navigator is awesome! I'm probably going to book Navigator again, while I'm on my cruise next week.

As you can see, once I stepped foot on a Royal ship, I never looked back.

I would go Navigator all the way! Especially after the dry dock upgrade she's getting now.

  3. "According to the RCL website it is a two bedroom family suite. "

" I believe that it does have a small balcony."

I have looked at three different websites and each has a different description for the room.

It's not exactly a two bedroom suite...

I've seen the FO on Navigator, and it was a very nice space. If you can live with one bathroom ...The deck plan makes it look like there is a small balcony, but the description of the cabin says nothing about a balcony

    LOL! :D:confused::eek:

See what I mean? Just a few replies in this thread and almost all of them are conflicting! :D

Does ANYONE have pics or video of this ACTUAL cabin, 1054, on Serenade?

  4. Can find little to NO info on this room! Some say it has a balcony. Some say it doesn't. It is(was?) listed on site as an "Ocean View Family" room.

On one of the sister ships (don't remember which) it's listed as a Two Bedroom SUITE. When we made reservations for it, it was listed on Serenade as OV, but the reservation on Royal's website says Two Bedroom Suite! But the price was definitely NOT Suite prices.

Does ANYONE have ANY pictures of this room on Serenade??? Does it have TWO bed ROOMS? Does it have TWO bathrooms?

    THANKS!!

  5. We are cruising in feb on The brilliance and are contemplating bringing my mom, with an aide. Mom currently lives in a nursing home as she has dementia but is alert in the moment and loves cruises. She will be in a wheel chair and needs total care. My question is, will this cruise I want to take her on be too much for her with her state of mind and lack of physical control, even with an aide?

    Thank you for your help.

I have I think what maybe a unique perspective, in that, I have cruised with my mom who had dementia. and though I cannot say to you, bring her, I'm so glad I did! I wouldn't have traded that experience for anything!

We took her on a cruise for her birthday one year in November. and she passed away the next February.

Like you mentioned, my mom loved cruising too. and while we were on the cruise, you could see it in her face, that she loved it. The staff were more than helpful. At dinner, the assistant cut her food into bite sized pieces for her, even though we did not ask her to do it.

One (funny?) thing that happened one night, though....

I awoke in the night to see light from the hall coming into our room. I looked up at the door, which was wide open. I got up to see that mom was not in the room! So, I looked down the hall and saw her walking. I ran down, got her and brought her back to the room.

Not sure if they had any child lock or something for the cabin door (didn't ask about it) but every night after that, we just pushed a heavy table in front of the door and had no further problems with that.

I have tons of pictures from that cruise and memories that are now literally priceless and I'm SO thankful we took her on that cruise.

Sure, it might have been some extra "work" to do so, but it was worth it.

    Just my 2 cents............

  6. Hmm..... this is interesting! You would think they could update the website if it went into effect today. But I just checked, and it's not updated.

Someone wrote that it was 2 bottles per cabin. So I guess a single cruiser (which I will be in December!!) would still be able to bring on two bottles???

Guess I'll have to wait until something "official" is posted to see.
