Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Next summer we will be aboard Radiance of the Sea and are considering the beverage package that includes mock cocktails, coffee, tea, fresh juice, etc. I believe it is called the Refreshment package. We are getting very conflicting information from the cruise line. At one point the website said smoothies were included. It no longer mentions them. Have they been removed from the package? When we call no one can give us a definitive answer. What beverages are included without a package? Are coffee, tea, milk (including chocolate) available at meals? Are any juices available at breakfast? If so, what? How much is bottled water, mock tails, juice, etc? We would greatly appreciate your help.

  3. Help! We are getting conflicting information on beverage packages. We are interested in the beverage package that includes mock tails, juice, bottled water, coffee, tea etc. At one time it listed smoothies as being included but they are no longer listed as included. Have they been removed for summer 2023. My daughter called but got very vague information. What is included if you don’t book a beverage package? Can you get coffee or tea with lunch or dinner? Is juice included with breakfast? If so, what kind? What about chocolate milk? How much do they charge for bottled water, juice, mock tails, coffee, tea, etc? If we book a beverage package can it be cancelled before sailing? Thank you
  4. What excursion did you do in Juneau? How was it? Who would you recommend it to? We are uncertain on what to do in Juneau. We were thinking of just doing the shuttle on our own to Mendenhall Glacier. Our friends are looking at the excursion that goes to gardens and the glacier. It looks like it is basically a bus trip. In Icy Strait Point we have booked and independent whale watching trip but will still have several hours in port. What do you suggest. Someone had mentioned there are jeeps to rent. Do those need to be booked in advance? My grandson may want to do the Zipline. I think that can only be booked through the ship. Is the zipline in I think Skagway better? In Sitka we did not book anything as it is the 4th of July and were told there will be a parade and carnival. In Skagway we booked the basic train ride but grandkids are looking at the train that includes kayaking. any suggestions are very welcome!

  7. Thank you so much for your information. It is extremely helpful. Unfortunately we are a group of 15 so Glacier Wind is not an option. I had contacted them an their 13 passenger boat in already partially booked. I have contacted Hoonah adventure tours and it looks like they can accommodate us. Has anyone used them. I also have a question about kayaking. A few of us were interested in this but they have heard because of the cold water temperatures you are very closely monitored and you see very little and you don’t really leave the shore. Is this true? On the zip line is the line extremely long? Are you ticketed by a time slot? Is it just one zip line or several? Greatly appreciate all your help!
  8. Has anyone booked the whale watching excursion in Icy Strait Point through the ship (Radiance of the Sea)? I have heard that whale watching excursions book on the ship are on very big boats that hold a lot of people. Is this true? How was it? Also, has anyone done Kayaking, fishing or the zip line in this port? How does the zip line work? Can you schedule a specific time? It appears it can only be booked through the cruise line? Any help you can give me for this port would be very much appreciated. We are a multigenerational group (78-14) with varied interests but I think almost all want to do the whale watching. Thanks for any help/suggestions you may have.
