  1. Hi all,

I'm very new to this forum & over the weekend I was reading about great price drops that people had got on their cruise ... so I looked at what price my first cruise will be compared to when I booked it .. $1400 difference (same type cabin/floor etc).

So a quick email to the TA ... resulted in a $1840 REDUCTION on our cruise! I am so amazed ! Without finding this forum I never would of even thought to compare/ask!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!! :D

That's a nice drop! These forums can definitely be helpful at times!

  2. The evening news here did a segment on the lime shortage a few weeks ago. They said the lime shortage was expected to last for several more months. I'd read about the lime issue here on CC just a few days before, otherwise I didn't even know there was a lime crisis! :D

  3. Posts like this always leave me skeptical. You booked a cruise without doing ANY research and then blame Disney for not knowing what you wanted? As already noted, if you need help planning a cruise that you are about to spend thousands of dollars on, a good local travel agent can help immensely. After 3 cruises on Disney, we've encountered none of the issues that you did.

  4. We don't spend much time in the cabin at all and much prefer to be out doing things around the ship. While we enjoy a verandah, it's not a "must" for us to cruise, especially if there is a huge cost difference between that and an ocean view room. We haven't yet done an inside but I would consider one.

We enjoy spending time on the promenade deck and other upper outside decks even when we have a verandah.

  5. Here's a good read comparing RCCL to Celebrity. I think you'll be quite impressed with you upcoming Eclipse cruise. Have a great time.

Thanks for posting this link! I've been trying to decide between RCI, Celebrity, and Princess for our next cruise and it helps to read others' thoughts and opinions. After reading this thread, I think RCI is the better fit for us.

  6. I think that's good advice but I can go one better. I scan my copies in and put in dropbox, then all I need is an internet cafe and printer and I can get copy. That's easier I think than remembering to bring a paper copy. Plus even if the whole ship sinks I don't lose my copies. I also scan in cc, DL, med insurance cards, etc.

I can even charge stuff since I have cc number and have memorized security code (I don't scan in the back of the cc.)

And best of all dropbox is free.

This is a really good idea. I will do this for future travel that requires a passport (or other documents!)

  7. I have to add a bit here.....the staterooms that are forward (just forward) of Cabanas WILL have noise, during the day from chairs being moved around and in the evenings when the crew is cleaning, and also in the early morning hours (before 7 am as mentioned) when the crew is moving chairs and cleaning.

For us, it really only took a day to get used to the noise and sleep through it. Not sure how a baby would do....depends on if he or she is a light sleeper...which would be the same for an adult, too.

The same would apply for staterooms below and to the aft of Cabanas and all of the others that run under the pool areas.

The ONLY area that would be more peaceful would be DIRECTLY beneath Cabanas, as you wouldn't have the noise of the chairs being moved around, or running feet above.

I was going to say exactly this. We had a cabin on deck 8 just forward of Cabanas (it was still Topsiders during our cruise.) We heard the occasional chair scraping overhead and feet running on the deck occasionally. It wasn't often enough or loud enough to be a nuisance. Cabins under Cabanas should be pretty quiet.
