  1. If it was a 3 or 4 day cruise it wasn't a good deal. If it was at least 7 nights then it was indeed a good deal although from a CC mini suite you already had the best suite perk of club class dining.

This is your opinion - I think $200 upgrade for a 4 day cruise is a great deal - and many agree - it's all about what the individual is willing to spend for their enjoyment -

  2. We will be on the Coral Princess on Sept. 12 and just received our cabin assignment which I'm very unhappy about as we got assigned an aft cabin:(:(. The vibration in the aft cabins ruins my sleep. I called Princess and the agent told me to ask for another cabin when we check in on the 12th but I'm concerned all the mini suites will be sold out by then. Has anyone had any luck changing cabins after it's been assigned?

I would look in your category and see what is still available and then call princess and switch - you can switch within categories with no hassles - I am surprised that the agent didn't do this unless they are sold out - you also might ask about upgrading to a higher mini category for a small charge -

  3. Seeing as it was a minimal charge - we went for it. We love any and all perks so to us some of the “fluff” is worth it as we don’t vacation as much as we’d like too.

I was shocked to get the offer because you hear about it all the time but it’s never happened until now.

For those who have done suites - what hidden perks should I make sure we use and access while on the cruise?

Breakfast in Sabatini's - access to Lotus spa - afternoon tea - you can order room service from the main dining room (but it comes all at once not per course like on Celebrity) - if you have sailed Princess before non-suite you know no real room service for breakfast but suite will get tablecloth and good menu but Sabatini Mimosa breakfast is amazing - we really like the space of the cabin the best - free laundry - mini bar set-up (if you are elite you get 2!)...you will also get to dine in Club Class dining room -

  4. I was in that suite on the Emerald 2 years ago. The loud music from Club Fusion ruined the cruise for me. I could not sleep at night. I tried to get moved to another cabin but none were available. Princess refunded me $750 as compensation for a ruined cruise. Avoid this suite and pick one up one deck. This is the worst cabin on the ship.

It’s all subjective - many posts that noise is not an issue and many many love these cabins

  5. It doesn't make a lot of difference. The problem is from when the ATD room fills up until 7:30 when the second dining room is available. I will be with a party of eight on the Caribbean Princess using Club Class dining in August. If it were not for Club Class, we would have done one of the following - which would have the same impact on other diners:

[/[*]We would have booked early TD. Then we would have taken a table of eight from 6 to 8. After 8, it doesn't matter, because there aren't any lines.

[*]Alternatively, we would have taken ATD and called and made a reservation. If we reserved a table for eight for 8:30 pm, then they could not use that table for one hour before we arrived, so it would have held the table.

    LIST]

Either of these alternatives would have had the same impact on other diners. We would have reserved a table during the period when there are lines. Our using Club Class dining will use no more resources during the 5:30 to 7:30 period when there are lines.

    Exactly!!!

  6. Perhaps people were being sent up from Symphony to fill empty tables or ones where the TD party finished early. I would expect that AT diners, seeing that only Symphony has ATD before 7:30, know to go there to check-in. Or maybe some people just figured out they could get seated faster by going to Concerto even though it wasn't AT hours yet.

Either way, the fuss and fear on cruise critic about club class seems a little over the top - if in fact Concerto is TD until 7:30 then CC really doesn't impact it all that much....in fact those eating before 7:30 in ATD are not impacted at all by CC because its in a totally different dining room -

  7. Concerto was early TD before becoming Anytime at 7:30 on our two Regal cruises last year. So the reason the OP didn't see anyone lined up for ATD early was they were all one deck below at Symphony DR.

Maybe, but then why would the hostess say "how many in your party?" "Ok, follow me?" - I thought TD you just went to your regular table -

  8. I was asking deise17311 if he knew for a fact that since there was no line that seemed to be forming at the door where the general public entered, if they were handing out beepers.

That might explain why there were no people lining up although the wait still might have been 30 minutes or more.

People in Club Class often post that there were no problems with dining waits since they're actually isolated from the regular lineup.

There were 2 doors one for CC and one for anytime - unless the other entrance on the other side was packed, our side was not - AT diners walked and were seated with no wait for our week...

  9. You know for sure that they weren't handing our beepers to those that just arrived?

From the time we were there between 5:30 and 7:00 no one waited they came up to the hostess and walked in - this was the whole cruise - all I can tell you is our experience in Concerto dining room - don;t know how it works or why and don't care - just sharing what we observed...

  10. Were you seated in Club Class or just viewing it from afar?

We were in club class and liked a table for 2 away from others that happened to be near the entrance with a direct view of those coming in for dinner - never a line, never a wait for ATD - in fact the dining room seemed quiet and organized

  11. Just off Regal and while there are lots of opinions on food, I have to share that the desserts are virtually tasteless - not all, but seriously the majority just seems flat or flavorless - the food was ok in dining room - not great, but good enough serving 3,000 people but the desserts were terrible - we tried all over the ship and got the same results...I wonder if they use dry eggs and such which inhibit flavor?

I am also aware that others may reply to this post about how the desserts were the best they have ever had - this is just my opinion and sharing my experience - it did make us pause and think to go back to Celebrity again...the food seems better overall -

  12. Great report' date=' thanks.

Did you notice if tables for two were readily available, in Club Class?

How were the special table side preparations?

    Thanks:)[/quote']

Oh and the table side was really a stagnant set up that served an additional item for one of the mains and at breakfast it made omelets:

    Prime rib got shrimp

    Filet got shrimp

    Tuna grilled one night

    Things such as this -

We were right near the entrance and so have a birds eye view and never once was there a wait for ATD - for both breakfast and dinner, never a waiter and I don;t know about other ships but on Regal it seemed like a natural fit and other diners could not even see CC and frankly were unaware of it -

  13. Great report' date=' thanks.

When we were there, there were only 3 other tables eating lots of empty tables in CC the entire trip-

  14. Hi all - just off regal in club class - in concerto dining room a small section reserved for CC - maybe because so many dining options but regular anytime dining never had a wait that we saw ( we dined from 6-7) for either breakfast or dinner - cc was very pleasant and in no way inhibited nor took away from the dining room - literally the section to the right and most people were totally unaware of it and honestly could not even see it - very well done - I reiterate that anytime dining had no lines and no wait

  15. No. There is a big difference.

Any passenger in any cabin can go to a specialty restaurant if they want to pay for it.

With club class, less than 5% of the passengers can go to Anytime dining and be sure of immediate seating.

Yes, club class mini-suite passengers get some wine in their cabin, but that does not take away from anyone else's experience. Just as the mini-bar setup for full suite passengers does not take away from anyone else's experience.

But reserving a section of tables that often remain unoccupied in a dining room does adversely affect non club class passengers. If it is an anytime dining room, there will be likely be passengers on line who cannot be seated even though tables are vacant in that special section. If it is in the dining room that is traditional and then turns into anytime, then come traditional diners may not get into the early extra traditional seating because of a lack of space for them.

I've never not seen line at ATD so I guess nothing will change -

  16. Does anyone think Princess is going to a two tier class system? I'll be writing a letter of disapproval. There is power in numbers so if you disagree too I suggest you write a letter.

How many of these posts do we need? Another post about a class system, really? I mean come on - do you fly on an airline because prices keep going up and space keeps going down as 1st and business and comfort get bigger - pay you play...

  17. diese17311,

It's done deal. We're going and we're excited about it. Thanks again to everyone for the input. We're a pretty fun-loving, upbeat, positive family, so I think we can get through it with no problems. We've found ourselves some pretty sticky and uncomfortable situations in the past and were able to make the best of it. They are now some of our favorite stories to tell. Since we can't afford a larger stateroom, an inside is our only option. I'd rather be cramped on a cruise than at sitting home because we couldn't afford a larger room. :)

You have made my day with this and thank you for opening my eyes to - you are right!!!! Have a blast!

  18. We were on the Ruby on 12/10 - first day of club class, and ate in the dining room on embarkation day (We were not in Club Class).

I also think that at this time, it's all still shaking out, and none of know how it will play out.

We normally do traditional late dining, but the friends we were with wanted anytime, so we did it.

We actually only ate in the dining room twice, as we wanted to try all the specialty restaurants. The first night formal night, there was a long line for anytime at 7:30. It went to about 2/3 of the way to the Passenger Services desk. However, that was the room that converted to anytime at 7:30 and I think we hit it wrong. The next time we went it was 8:30 and no line.

The first time a waiter took several of us to the traditional dining room, where we joined the 8:00 seating.

I observed that the CC dining area was maybe 1/6 of the room, and when I looked it was maybe 1/2 full.

We're trying Club Class on a coastal in April. If the topic is still active, I'll post my experience.

I have never NOT seen the ATD line NOT stretch all the way to PS - people keep acting like this is some new thing - every time I have been on a Princess ship the ATD line stretches - the times it doesn't are not peak times for sure - and yes I know others will debate my post
