I am wondering if anyone who was on the Quantum of The Seas for the transatlantic voyage from Southampton would be willing to share how much they paid for their cruise. I am trying to have a little bit of an idea of what price range Anthem of The Seas "might" drop to, or increase to. I realize that it is hard to compare then to now but I am trying to get a ballpark figure. I know it's a stab in the dark. I am looking for cruise price only, not how much anyone had spent on the ship. I appreciate your answers. Thanks :)

Hi ckrobyn,
We sent a request to "downline" to Royal Caribbean and it was approved. I understand that there are certain guidelines for these requests to be approved. It was all for not because the ship didn't stop in Halifax because of hurricane gust winds and we ended up having to purchase flights to Boston:(

FYI: Pay in cash and you don't worry about the conversion for credit cards :)

Thanks for doing a "Live" review, greatly appreciated. I am wondering if you have any idea of the price to play bingo? Thanks
-
WOW! Quantum Launchers you did a fantastic job on the review! I just finished reading through all the posts. My husband & I are thinking of doing the Anthem of The Seas Transatlantic in October.
I have a couple of questions:
1. We have never done a transatlantic, I am used to sandals, capris, etc, what do I need for clothes?
2. Did they play bingo on the cruise, if so, how much is it to play?
3. Is the casino open every night of a transatlantic?
4. Anything else you want to add?
We look forward to hearing from you :)

My husband and I can't wait to see "We Will Rock You"! We think it will be awesome, as they say... "The Show Must Go On"! "All Fat Bottomed Girls" will also love this show! Or for the nay sayers...maybe "Another One Will Bite The Dust" or maybe it truly will be "Radio Ga Ga".:)

Thank you! I was beginning to think nobody says Happy New Year anymore, you are the only person to reply

Happy 2015!
Hoping to cruise more this year than last year:D

Overall, imo, sounds like you had a good time. You commented that the food was good, the room was good, your stateroom attendant was good, embarkation was good, the only issue you seem to have was some of the staff, the lack of announcements, and disembarkation, where you technically could have done express walk off.
We look through the cruise compass and highlight the different activities we are interested in doing. Some of the activities get announced, some don't, but we have planned our day and know where we need to be and when. Sorry that you feel that it was a waste of money. We have cruised about 10 times, and we make our vacations fun, even if things might not be quite what we thought. We have spent the money and we make lemonade if we are handed lemons:) We also choose to express walk off. Hopefully, this experience hasn't tarnished you too badly from cruising in the future.

I haven't been on Freedom for a couple of years, but the amenities are supposed to be the same on all 3 ships in that class as indicated in the letter below. Here is a letter we received the last time we cruised on Independence of the Seas. Maybe someone that has stayed in the room recently will answer also.
As a Ben & Jerry’s Sweet guest you are offered exclusive amenities and services not available to other guests onboard Independence of the Seas. For your convenience, here is a brief summary of those services:
The perks offered in our sister ships are the same the same on Independence:
· Use of the Concierge Lounge located on Deck 10.
· Terry Robes for use onboard.
· Upgraded bathroom amenities.
· Continental breakfast served in the club daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.
· Hors d’oeuvres, petit fours and complimentary bar setup served in the Concierge Lounge every evening before and after dinner from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
· Daily menus displayed and pre-ordering for your dinner wine.
· Reservations for any of our specialty restaurants, sport activities, Explorations!, Salon and Spa appointments, etc.
· Arrangements for private parties, Free Movies
· Personalized Port & Shopping Guide advice.
· Business services such as faxes, copies, etc.
Should you have any other question prior to your arrival, please feel free to contact me.
Looking forward to see you soon in out midst.
Best Regards,
Raj Bhugwath

It's called down lining, you need written permission from the cruise line, and there are stipulations on the type of cruise that this can be done for. This was going to be our first time down lining but it didn't work out too well for us, ship didn't dock, and we had to buy tickets to board at the next port, which is Boston.
-
Aussiepaddy, my husband & I were also supposed to be boarding in Halifax, but, as you already know, the ship didn't dock in Halifax today.
I am wondering if you received notification prior to arriving at the port to board. We discovered it when we went to the port and security notified us. We still have not been notified, yet RCI corporate has known since 7am this morning! (7.5 hours later)
I am still on the phone trying to sort out what our options are.

Briitini, Could you send me the link to you tube? I searched quickly and couldn't find it. Thanks

Briitini, What room were you in, we are sailing Nov 17/14 and we are on Deck 2

We called and tried to get a price reduction or an upgrade on the BOGOHO for the 2 cruises we have booked and were told we didn't qualify, it was for new bookings only. It seems as though RCCL is starting to clamp down on pricing policies. I suggest that when you make a booking you are happy with the price that you seeing.

Has anyone had the opportunity to have a look at the new promotion from RCCL? WOW! But not in a good way! We are Platinum C&A members, soon to be Emerald, looked up a cruise we were interested in for 2016, here are the pre & post promo prices:
Pre Promo C&A and old promo pricing

Oceanview $2037
Balcony $2656
Junior Suite $4714
Grand Suite $5987
Owner's Suite $7705
Post Promo
Interior $2434
Oceanview $2624 with $400 OBC
Balcony $3516 with $200 C&A discount, no OBC
Balcony $3716 without C&A discount, $600 OBC
Junior Suite $6260 with $200 C&A discount, no OBC
Junior Suite $6460 without C&A discount, $1000 OBC
Grand Suite $7958 with $200 C&A discount, no OBC
Grand Suite $8158 without C&A discount, $1000 OBC
Owner's Suite $10248 with $200 C&A discount, no OBC

I think we will wait for a future sale, or a last minute special, especially where the sail date is so far away. We had planned on booking next week onboard.

Thanks again Matt!

We went to the Character Breakfast on 2 different ships. The first ship I took my parents (68 & 69) & my daughter (26), the second ship was my husband & I. Both times the characters came to our table, we got our pics taken with them, & the food was good, & we got what we ordered in a timely manner. It was free then, but I wouldn't pay for us to go, but I was glad that we all went:)

Thanks for the review, my DH & I will be on Majesty next month, we are doing a 4 night cruise. Is there only 1 formal night on a 4 night cruise? What is the deck party that you mentioned in your review? Thanks:)

On my screen it is on the top left side of the screen, it says change country, not sure if you have that option:)
Finally forcing me to re-think
