  1. Sailed 9/15 on the Crown and I did not notice much difference in the bed - other than no big dip in the middle.

Not enough support for me and I could only get comfortable facing one direction over the other due to previous break in.....:(

  2. JUst called AA and they suggested we wait until tomorrow or Monday . The guy I spoke to is in NC and they are expecting it Wed or Thurs. He said that if Philly and Miami are unaffected, there probably will not be waiver of change fee because, like Tati said, they can fly around it. So we wait. Is 9AM too early for a drink? LOL

    Thanks for the update!

I am glad I am not connecting through Charlotte at this point and hope Philly remains unaffected.

I will be monitoring through the weekend and watching the AA site for updates.

  3. How do you know that? If there is a storm coming why wouldn’t they waive change fees? Saw that happen during a hurricane in the Caribbean a few years ago. We can fly out earlier and will do that if there is a weather alert from AA

They will. I think you misread my post.....

  4. We had timed tickets for a 10 am hour long tour of the monumental area of Parc Guell ( and that's what you need to see if you visit the park, otherwise it's just a park with trees and a view) and then spent another hour walking around the rest of the paid area before exiting the monumental area and walked the free area (uphill mainly) ,and then west to the rock pile mount with the cross (turo de les tres Creus) and then headed to the west exit where we had lunch at noon at the sandwich shop (Guelly sandwich park) at the top of the stairs/escalators (Baixada de la Gloria) before walking down to the Vallcarca metro station. So 2 hours for us just for the park, 1 hour for lunch and the walk down to the metro station, but we were trying to make a 2:15 entry time to Sagrada Familia , which we did with lots of extra time.

Thanks for posting this. I had previously bought tickets for Sagrada Familia for 3 PM and just added the Park tickets for noon. It sounds like we will have time to travel between easily :D

  5. Last week I had to change some things about an upcoming cruise, including flights. An amazing surprise was my airfare was half the price shown on the website. Last night I had to make yet another change & the airfare was still on sale, but the great price was not visible on the website. I asked the rep if one has to call to learn about this "secret" sale. She said yes. Has anyone else experienced this? I've cruised with Princess since 2006. I had no idea about this.

So for any current EZ Air reservations we should call an ask about the "secret sale"?

  6. I was disappointed that there was no unlimited option on my recent Royal Princess cruise. When we booked the cruise it was to be a Medallion cruise with the better internet.

Since I had to keep up with some work tasks I was frustrated by the internet “by the minute” plans. I also made a critical mistake when I didn’t opt to add minutes to my loyalty allotment at the beginning of the cruise. I could have added 200 minutes for $40, but since I waited those same minutes cost me $99![emoji51] Unfortunately, that was at the end of the cruise when everyone was on and connectivity was extremely slow or nonexistent.

Princess needs to figure this out – most of their competitors have. I think connetivity is an important consideration for many people.

Cindy, we are sailing on the Crown soon and 200 minutes is being offered at a prepay rate of $99 that includes 40 bonus minutes.

If we are able to add 200 minutes at the beginning of the cruise for $40 then that is clearly the better deal. Do you remember what your prepay option was before you sailed?

  7. On Crown last week, there was an offer, but it was ONLY available on your first login of 100 minutes for $20 or 200minutes for $40 this is on top of any loyalty minutes you may have for being platinum/or elite. you could not buy more minutes at this rate once you had used them up, only REALLY expensive packages or PAYG at $0.79 minute.

Edited to say that in the last couple of days there is an end of cruise offer for 15min for $8.99 - if that helps

RCI are way ahead of Princess in terms of internet service

Anyone been on the Crown recently that can report if the same offer was available? I only get 150 minutes for Platinum level and I know I need more. If I can add 200 minutes for $40 I will be all set! The price is higher if I buy before I leave for the Med.

  8. You can lock in your EZair tickets at any time by simply calling Princess. Once you have done that though, they are considered "Restricted tickets" and you are unable to make changes. Essentially it you then have the same restrictions as if you had purchased the tickets directly from the airline.

I am 87 days from cruising and worked with Princess yesterday to "ticket" my reservations with United. Once that was done I was able to go on the United website and upgrade our seats to Economy Plus for the seven and a half hour flight to Paris.

Good to know and thanks for posting.

  9.

You should buy the TRANSMONTSERRAT ticket once at the station in Plaça Espanya in Barcelona. This ticket includes all the TRANSPORTATION tickets you're going to need (train+cable car or rack train+funiculars once in Montserrat). For more info: http://www.fgc.cat/eng/bitllets_oci_turisme.asp -check for "transmontserrat". There's another ticket called "totmontserrat", which offers a lunch/buffet but it's not worth as the restaurant included is rather bad.

I used the link to try to view more information but I can't find a place to translate to English. Am I missing something?

How much time should we plan on to tour the site? We don't arrive until 9 AM but I think a late morning or early afternoon trip to Montserrat would be a great way spend the rest of the day :D
