Thanks so much for the responses.  I did get the email, but on my previous cruises, pre-Covid, I was able to see an upgrade banner, but not this time.

Help,  I received my upgrade email and made my bid.  Now I can not figure out how to find that bid on my account.  Could someone please give me some guidance.  Thank You!

On the Bliss in January 2020 we managed to have a table to ourselves, we were 6 adults and both my adult Daughter & Son have shellfish allergies.  It took a lot of discussion before they would agree, and we had to talk to several people, the last being the assistant hotel manager, but in the end a wonderful evening was had by all.  The chef cooked and served everything else, and at the very end cooked the shrimp 🍤 for the 2 people in are party that eat them.  Also, they made us change our reservations to the first seating of the evening so that the grill was not contaminated.

We are on the same cruise as yourselves.  As we have arranged our flights thru NCL, and with the mess that the airlines are in at the moment, we are considering cancelling our flights from Montreal to NYC and having our son drive us to Albany, and take the Amtrak from Albany to NYC.  Priced it out, and at the moment it would be $36 usd each for the train.  This might be worth it to reduce the stress of wondering if we are going to make it to the ship, or will we have to join in Dominican Republic 😒.

Just got off the Bliss in NYC on the 16/02.  We had color red, which is the last color to be called.  It was slated to be called for 09h50, and they called it at 10H05.  We sat very comfortably in the Observation Lounge until it was called, then took the elavator down to Deck 7 and sat in the Local until the line thinned out.  Ended up being one of the last people off the ship and was in terminal, got luggage and thru customs before 11h00.  On of the most pleasant disembarkments that I have experienced.

Just got off a 14 day cruise on the Bliss.  We were unable to dock @ Harvest Cay, we had to be tendered.  Was told that a ship had had a collision with the pier, and there was damage underwater to the pier making us unable to dock.

I have had usually just used H2O, but on a Southern Caribbean 12 day cruise I purchased Vibe passes and did not regret spending the money.  As others have stated it is limited access adult only sundeck.  
You were always guaranteed a lounge chair with nice thick padded cushion, never had a problem getting an umbrella if needing some shade, exclusive bartender for Vibe so no wait for a drink, in fact our Bartender, Ramos, usually brought me another one even before I ordered on.  

It usually is a quiet space, on our particular cruise, the group of people would bought the passes seemed to really get along when we met and became a very animated group sitting around the covered bar, or in the hot tubs.  It is large enough though that you are able to sit away from that area for true peace and quiet.

But what I think Truly made the experience is the personalized service we received from the bar staff.  I enjoyed being greeted each morning by name, him know what I drink and knowing to bring me a large glasses of ice water with you adult beverage.  We will be sailing in 2 weeks, and it is my understanding that that bartender is onboard, and we are looking forward to seeing him again.

 PistolPete13, Will be on the Bliss in 19 days and was wondering if you could find out something for me.  Am curious if my favourite bartender is on the Bliss.  Had heard rumours that Ramos is on the Bliss n Vibe.  If he is in Vibe, it would give me a good reason to fight my way on early to get Vibe passes for my upcoming cruise.

I am 84 days out for my Feb 2nd cruise on the Bliss out of NYC, and got my upgrade email at noon today.

Thanks for that.  NCL said no to a line cutter, but think my son is going to pick up a cheap line cutter, and see if he can't get away with that.  Have you managed to get the line cutter onboard with you.  He will be diving Roatan, Ocho Rios, Cozumel, Costa Maya.  Was not able to find a dive for Belize which he is really disappointed about, he so wanted to dive the Blue Hole.  He completed his PADI Rescue Diver just to be sure he had adequate credentials for that dive and now he cant get there, to far from Harvest Cay

Having said this, the excursion folks might be helpful as I’m sure you aren’t the first person to ask about this, whether or not you are taking an NCL excursion.

Son has booked all his excursions with private dive shops and is more comfortable with his own equipment.  Was trying to avoid rental of any equipment.  Have made several frustrating calls to Excursion Desk with varied answers ranging from try and see what happens to not allowed to bring ANY scuba equipment including his own reg, dive computer, BCD.  That is why I was reaching out to the ship for a definative answer,

Thanks for the response.  Helps hearing from someone that actually tried bring equipment onboard.  I guess the knife will be left at home, don't need any trouble at the Port of Manhattan.

Because it would have to get thru port security, my hope was to get an email from Security Office outlining arrangement to avoid any misunderstandings.  The email could also come in handy if we undergo any inspection at the border as we are coming from Montreal and have to cross US/Canada border.

Just trying to do this on the up and up.

Would anyone happen to have the contact information for chief sercurity officer on the NCL Bliss.

Will be sailing on the Bliss in Feb. 2020 and need to make some arrangements for Scuba equipment, scuba knife,  that is on the banned list.  Want to surrender equipment to security upon embarkment on ship and make arrange to be able to take possession of it on each island that my son will be diving and re-surrender it to security inbetween.

I have made several calls to the NCL call center who were not able to give me any information.  Am hoping someone would have this information, or if anyone is sailing on the Bliss in the near future, would be able to get me the information.

Sailed out of NYC a few years back on Jan 6th on the Breakaway.  NYC had just had a big storm closing the highways from Albany into NYC.  Was bitterly cold for sailaway and sailing passed the Statue of Liberty and under the bridge, but by lunch the following day was able to sit with just a sweater and play cards in the covered section of the then Uptown Grill.  Same thing for the last sea day coming back, was able to sit with just a sweater.

We are going to try it again and am booked on the Bliss for Feb. 2nd, 2020.  If you have the drink package, bring a thermal cup -  Hot Chocolate with Amaretto helps ward off the chills, 😉

I would be interested in knowing what ship Ramos is on.  He was our Vibe bartender a few years back on the Getaway.

This will be the first time this upcoming Nov for a ship the size of the Breakaway to sail from New Orleans. On the Dawn and Star we boarded on Deck 7. The gangway is articulating so it should be able to adjust for boarding on Breakaway and Getaway. Everything I have read says Deck 7 at other ports where embarkation is done which is not going to going to be an Atrium entrance.

Deck 7 would be great. Brings you in at O'Sheehan's. Nothing like walking into the Grand Atruim of a DCL ship, but will still have some wow fracture. Thanks for the quick response.

Will be sailing from NOLA on my next cruise. Have sailed from Miami, NYC, and San Juan previously.

Was really disappointed when we embarked from San Juan that we entered ship by gangway onto I believe deck 2 and not directly onto deck 5/6 so that the first thing you see is the Atrium.

Can anyone tell me onto what deck you embark in NOLA.

IF it helps, we will be sailing on the Getaway.

Our adult children will be sailing with us, our son is a former cast member on DCL, and it will be anti-climatic for his first cruise as a passenger if we board down in the belly of the ship.[emoji14]

If I understand correctly, you will have your car with you at Disney World, you will have to leave your car somewhere , so why not drive it to the port (45-50 minute drive ) and park it in the secure parking at the port

On my last three cruises, that is exactly what I did. Took a double walled insulated glass with me that I had originally purchased in the gift shop if the Breakaway, and had the bartender put my frozen drinks in that. They were more than happy to accomadate. The pool wait staff would take my glass to the bar each time. It was great, kept the drinks colder much longer in the hot southern Caribbean weather

Out of Seattle, what is the best way to go in terms of a cell plan while cruising to/from Alaska, and alternating between the U.S & CDN ports? The only one is see is the extra $6 or $7 a day plan. Anyone recently return and do this?[/

This past January, I used this Bell plan for a Caribbean cruise. Used it for our three days in San Juan, St. Thomas & then Tampa. Works very well, you can call, message and plenty of data to catch up on social media/emails, you to use google maps etc.

Aren't the photographers actually Shutters employees? Not Disney CMs.

Yes, he is actually employed by a company called Image Group. They employ the photographers on Disney, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara.

But, while on Disney, he is considered and called a CM.

He follows Disney rules, and receives Disney perks the same as the other CM.

My son is a CM on the Wonder right now. I have visited him on two separate occasions in Port Canaveral. Both times he had to put in a request at least 1 week prior and provide my passport information. The day of visit he met me at the crew check point entrance, we cleared security, they kept my passport and gave me a visitors pass, then we entered the ship by the crew entrance. He had to be with me at all times, and was only allowed to show be guest areas, no backstage areas.
