  1. travelling on NCL dawn - ports st marten, st Thomas, Martinique, st Kitts, Barbados and Antigua - we want to snorkel once during the cruise

    Which island would you recommend??

Any others tips for these ports would be appreciated as well :D

We have taken the NCL excursion "Champagne Catamaran to St. John's" each time we were in St. Thomas for snorkelling, and can not say anything but wonderful things about it. We intend on doing this same excursion again when we are on the Dawn in January.

  2. We booked La Terrazza de San Juan. I can't officially recommend it, because I have never been there, but it looks cool and gets good TA reviews.

Word of warning, if at all possible, I would give them a call to very your reservation. We booked "La Terraza" thru a 3rd party site for our Dawn cruise Jan 7th, 2018.

My sister was in San Jaun this past November on another cruise and went to check out the hotel for us. When the hotel checked my reservation, they said they would not honour my reservation, and if I wanted to stay there, I would have to pay an additional $350 a night. By the way, my reservation was paid in full.

Upon further investigation, I have now read several reviews of when a person goes to check in, the hotel has either over sold their rooms and does not have any rooms for you when you try to check in, or of the hotel demanding more money, or the hotel cancelling reservations weeks prior to your arrival date.

We too thought La Terraza look amazing, but have sinced booked AC Hotel by Marriot because I would not give in to their tactic of asking for further cash.

  3. I'm booked for the Dawn again third time and looking forward to seeing her look!

I guess you call it the re-positioning cruise when they change ports from San Juan to Tampa? Now the one way tickets with connecting flights might scare me but it will all be worth it.

Hubby and I are booked on this cruise as well. Just 145 more days to go [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322]

  4. There is a car rental location in the Intercontinental hotel right beside Bayside(?) Market that is less than a 5 minute taxi back to the cruise terminal. Used them on our last cruise out of Miami and was extremely satisfied. Had picked up car @ MIA and returned it there

  5. I just came back from an all inclusive resort and saw several people using their own insulated drink mugs to have drinks filled in. Essentially it was like 20-32 oz mugs with straws, which saved them the trouble of having to have their drinks refilled 2-3 times. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these on norwegian? I have an unlimited alcohol drink package and was going to bring one of those mugs to make it easier, but didn't know if the bars would actually fill them. Thanks for any info!

On our 12 day on the Getaway, I bought one of the double walled glasses with straw in the gift shop, and the bartenders in vibe & H2O had no problem with putting my drink in it for me. I had the unlimited drink package.

  7. Crew quarters for department managers are usually on the same deck as the gangway used in port of call and the one below that for the rest of the crew. Officers quarters are scatter thru out the ship depending on their department. Officers and Managers typically have single quarters and the rest of the crew are anywhere from 2-4 per cabin. A typical crew cabin contains bunk bed, two small cupboards and a desk. The washroom contains a sink, toilet and small shower, but the shower is typically just enclosed by a curtain. You can use all three at the same time [emoji12]. I was flabbergasted when I saw my son's crew cabin as to how small a space a person lives in for 6 months at a time

  8. The PSP (private studio photographer) has just started on the Dream. All you need to do is go to shutters and request a session with him. I verified this information with my son who is a sr. photographer on the Dream. Most of the time the senior photographers do the weddings and vow renewals, so you should have no problem booking a session with the PSP

  9. I thought the same thing, that there was only one berth at Bayonne until I arrived one day for the Zenith and there was this other ship docked at the usual berth we had used for Zenith previously. The other ship was a big surprise.....not only that there was another ship, but also because it was not a Royal Caribbean or Celebrity ship.
