Hello
I have sailed on the Eurodam Dec 2017 and loved it. I have seen a cruise on the Eclipse to Hawaii which I like the look of. It sails on the 26th October 2019 for 14 days, round trip from Los Angeles. Has anyone been on a similar cruise?
I have read that the rain in Hawaii is mostly at night at this time of year with a few showers during the daytime
Is this ships quiet? Would it be full of families this time of year?
Thanks

We were naughty and took the plain blue ones you find near the lounges just in case we lost one, thankfully we didn't

Just change your Mariners adress then to the US, invent if you must.
When booking, invent that you live in the USA.
You can always change it to your real residency later-on.
If using the HAL site, do this while using a VPN that puts you in the USA.
This is totally independant from the check-in and Security/immigration procedure by the way.
Good idea, but I will have to ring them about the fcd, so I wouldn't be able to book online, it doesn't seem to give you an option for fcd on the payment page

Hello
Just to make one thing clear, I did not suggest or threaten to sue anyone. Just had a reply back from HAL
Thank youfor contacting Mr. Orlando Ashford.Mr. Ashford has reviewed your concerns and asked me to express his regret forthe disappointment you encountered.
Weunderstand that you are not pleased with our policies regarding cross-currencybookings, and we regret your discontent. Holland America Line’s InternationalSales Policy provides that guests should book through an authorized HollandAmerica Line sales agent in their geographic area, or directly with HollandAmerica Line. To be clear, the geographic area for any guest residing withinthe European Union is any country in the European Union, and this policy iscompletely consistent with European rules. Guests residing in the United Statesand Canada (North America), the European Union including the United Kingdom(the EU), and Australia will book in their local currency, although in certainareas there may be a choice of currencies. In North America, bookings may bemade in U.S. or Canadian dollars; in the EU, bookings may be made in Euros orBritish Sterling; in Australia, bookings will be made in Australian dollars.Guests residing in all other countries may book in U.S. dollars. Residency willbe determined based on a guest’s primary residence used for Mariner Societyregistration.
HollandAmerica Line and its agencies have invested significant resources and effort todevelop effective sales and marketing programs focused on consumers in thegeographic area that each agency serves. The International Sales Policy wasimplemented to ensure that the marketing and promotional activities of agencieslocated in particular geographic areas are appropriately rewarded to createincentives to continue those activities. We have licensed the use of our logos, trademarks and trade names to agencies only for use in particular geographicareas, and sales by agencies outside those geographic areas may violate HollandAmerica Line’s license. In implementing the policy, we recognize that someagencies have long-standing relationships with clients in various areas of theworld. We will honor bookings made by agencies for guests for whom they havepreviously booked Holland America Line cruises. Those agencies will need toprovide Holland America Line with evidence of such pre-existing relationshipand prior booking.
Again, please accept our apologies. We certainly hope that if you choose not to cruisewith us in the future, that no matter what cruise line you choose to sail, youexperience safe and enjoyable vacations at sea. Thank you again for taking thetime to provide us with your valuable comments.

Just had another reply from a US agent'
Thank you forcontacting me. I would love to book you on a wonderful Alaskan cruise, but Holland America is one of those cruise lines I can not help you with. Princess and Holland America have this "international law" rule thatI can not get around.

I would book with a US agent if I could find one that will book a HAL cruise for a non US or Canadian citizen. The 2 I have tried say HAL won't let them. I'll see if I can find anymore to get quotes from

Hi
I am rather peeved at the moment. I cruised on the Eurodam in Dec 2017, loved every minute. I have been researching another cruise and I have found out that there are significant differences in what a US and Canadian citizen pay and what the rest of us pay.
I priced an Alaska cruise on the Amsterdam on a number of UK TA and HALs website. I then looked at a couple of US sites where the price was significantly lower, approx £1500 ($2078.10) for the same cabin. Some cabins were even £2000 (2770.80) cheaper. I enquired and was told 'Unfortunately we are only permitted to sellHolland America and Princess cruises to residence of the USA and Canada.' apparantly this is HALs policy.
I feel this is nothing less than discrimation on HALs part. Why the hell should I pay nearly twice as much for a HAL cruise as a US or Canadian citizen. I can however book other cruise lines with these companies

Don't Celebrity have loud music playing in public areas all the while?
-
Thanks I didn't realise

Hello
I live in the UK and are researching prices for a future cruise. Has anyone used iCruise.com recently?

Thank you for all the replies. Can't make my mind up where I want to go, so many great places and ships.

We were on the Westerdam in December for a Panama Canal transit and really enjoyed it. Seeing pictures might help you decide.
My wife took a lot and made them into slide shows for her website. I'll insert a link below just in case you are interested. Scroll down the page and click on the one called "Scenes Around The Ship."
Thank you great pictures, thank you for sharing

Hi
For a cruise to Alaska which would be the better ship?
Thanks
-
Sailed on Eurodam for 2 weeks in the Caribbean in December and I found the food was very good to excellent and I am a very fussy eater. The staff were excelent in the MDR as they were in the other restaurants we ate in
-
Hi
Thanks for all the replies. I dont mind music in the bars, music venues etc, but someone posted on a HAL thread that the Celebrity ship they had sailed on had loud hip hop music playing all day.

Hello
Sailed on the Eurodam over Christmas and loved every minute, found her to be very quiet. Are any of the Celebrity ships quiet, by this I mean no loud music playing all the time ? Seen a couple of itinaries on the Infinity and Constellation I like the look of
Thank you
-
Ah, no, they are on deck 4. The MDR is on Deck 2 and 3. If they are beneath the MDR, the ship is in a very undesirable position.
Must need new glasses,on the website where I got the information from it just says they are under a restaurant

Mudslide and Cosomopolitan

Hi
Sailed on the Eurodam in December and docked at Havensight
-
Hello DuWayne
They are all beneath the MDR
-
The 'really loud hip hop music constantly' is enough to put me off Celebrity
-
Great review. We loved the Eurodam, lovely ship

Hello
Thanks for the replies. I think I need new spectacles. Is there anything after October?
-
Hello
Does anyone know why there are no cruises for the Eurodam after September?
Thanks
