  1. There are a number of versions of the Yukon adventures. May is a bit early as you don't want to get to Denali until the park road is fully open most likely the first week of June. Another thing to keep in mind is that you should have 2 nights in Denali.

I have not done this itinerary since they are doing the flights from Dawson City to Fairbanks. I would also want two nights in Dawson City.

Everything lisTed on the itinerary will be included, hotels, flight, luggage handling, etc. You will be responsible for most meals on the land part.

The cruise first gives you three days on the ship. The land first includes four days on the ship and probably Glacier Bay. I recommend land first but in June.

Do you have to do May? Do more research on this as something doesn't sound quite right. What is the hAL tour #?

Thanks for the info. We are pretty much locked into May due to vacations. The reason I chose the cruise first on the 23rd is there is almost a $1400+ difference in price! There are two nights in Denali but only one night in Dawson City. The HAL Tour # is R5C....Roundtrip Seattle....

  2. Looking at booking the 10 Day Alaska Land Tour that is round trip from Seattle in May of next year on MS Noordam. Would like some info from those who may have made this trip.

I have a million questions, but would limit it to just a few here.

Looks like only four days at sea, with one sea day and Tracy Arm/Juneau and Skagway as the ports. Are there any formal nights, and are MDR menu's available anywhere?

Does this itinerary include all transfers and/or transportation. I. E. - White Pass train to Frazier from Skagway and onward to Whitehorse? Flight from Dawson City to Fairbanks? McKinley Explorer to Anchorage? Flight from Anchorage to Seattle? Are all accommodations included? Hotel in Seattle last night included.

Any help, suggestions, recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  3. These are not from the Ryndam but represent HAL 7-day Caribbean menus for the 2013/1014 season with excellent readability:

If you want menus, other than MDR, this link will give you menus in PDF format:

Thanks so much. This is exactly what I was looking for. Is there anyway to know which series (A or B) will be our cruise (Jan 18th, 2015, 7 Day Western Caribb)?

  4. Can someone point me to a location that lists the MDR menus. Specifically we will be on the Ryndam in January and would like to know what the menus are. I went to HALfacts, but they are almost impossible to read even after selecting them. (Old eyes maybe!) plus they are well over a year old, so I am assuming they are out of date.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  5. Booked the January 18th cruise last week. Very surprised to see that all Suites and Verandah's are sold out already. Perhaps because of the itinerary.

Looking forward to our first HAL cruise. Can anyone tell me if the Digital Workshop and Culinary Arts Center have charges associated with them.

Also, I am wondering about children onboard. Is there an adults only area like the Carnival Serenity Areas? Thanks in advance.

  6. Looking at Jan 18th 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on MS Ryndam from Tampa. The itinerary is as follows: Key West; Banana Coast, Honduras; Santo Tomas, Guatamala; Costa Maya, Mexico ; Tampa. This appears to be a much smaller ship than we have cruised on before. Anyone have any comments regarding this itinerary or this ship in particular. TIA!

  7. Carnival just changed itinerary for the Miracle and has deleted Skagway and substituted Sitka. A lot of people are frustrated because Carnival has not posted any shore excursions. Understandable since the schedule just changed.

If you have been to Sitka can you recommend any excursions? There are a lot of folks that would like to know. Thanks for any and all help!

  8. We just reserved this tour for the second time. We first did it first in 2011, and just had to go back because of the breath-taking scenery. When you make reservations with them, the form provides for a selection of the BBQ Chicken lunch or a Vegitarian lunch. Your choice. Hope this helps!

  9. In the picture of the asst waiter (female) dancing on the table top in the "ruffles" - The guy in the background with the yellow shirt and camera stuck in his face is me.

We really enjoyed visiting the Islands and had a great time in the MDR. Our wait staff was I Wayan (Headwaiter) I Gede, (Team Waiter) and Daniel (Asst Team Waiter). One of the best teams we have enjoyed in 8 cruises!

  10. Okay all you folks with Victory Experience. We will be on the December 9th sailing. This will be our 8th Carnival cruise. Looking forward to this one as I visited a lot of these ports while in submarines with the US Navy, but that was a "few" years ago. DW and I are from Florida and have booked a balcony on the Panorama Deck (1031 - nose bleed section). Have never been on one of the "bigger" Carnivial ships, however, we will complete a cruise on the Glory in September. Anyone with any experience on the Panorama Deck?

Here is what we have scheduled so far, and a lot is based on what I have read from the reviews on CC.

We will probably arrive in San Juan two days prior to the cruise (Dec 7th). Any suggestions for a hotel during that time. Will probably try and fly out the day the ship returns.

Based on CC recommendations have booked the following excursions so far:

St Lucia - COSOL Island Tour

St Kitts - Royston Island Tour

If you have any info on SR 1031 or the Panorama deck would appreciate it. Also, Any good suggestions regarding St. Thomas, Barbados, or St Maarten excusions would be great. Not into a lot of "water sports" - mostly just sightseeing and shopping. Age has a way of slowing you down!

Also - feel free to share anything you have learned that will be a help to us and others that read this board. Thanks in advance.

  11. I think April 25th, 2011 will be the last time you will see the Fascination heading out on a cruise From Jacksonville. Goodbye Jacksonville.

Sure hope not -- We have a family cruise booked Oct 29th, 2011. Since this is July 9, 2011, don't think we have to worry! This will be our second cruise on Fascination. Great ship and great crew!:)

I live in JAX, and it would be nice to see a new cruise terminal in Mayport. Probably would bring more cruise ships into the area. :D
