which Conquest sailing in March are you on?
March 25th 6 night.

Clean dry hair was $50 + tip. Just a simple twist but nice job and quick. In/out under 30mins.
Okay, thanks. Probably a bit much for what we need.
Thanks,
Janet

My friend and I are taking our granddaughters on a spring break cruise in March on the Conquest. Does anyone have any experience with getting young girls hair done for formal night? Thinking of a simple updo of some sort. The girls will be 9.
Thanks,
Janet

My friend and I are taking a couple of granddaughters on the Conquest March 25th for our spring break. We have done similar cruises with other grandkids during the same time period. Lot's of kids!!!

We had M107 last January. We enjoyed the balcony a lot! However, the first day was chilly, rainy, and windy. The wind whistled through our cabin door like crazy! Amazingly annoying! The rest of the trip, we sunned out there and enjoyed amazing views of the ports.
We have L108 booked for next year. Remember, the cabins themselves are bigger than the average mini. They are truly 2 separate rooms. (check out you tube)Views from the actual cabin are very nice. I don't think I would pay a huge amount over a regular mini, but both years we have gotten a "deal" emailed to us, so we took it! We enjoy Club Class, but wouldn't pay a huge amount for it either. Personally, I wouldn't book these cabins for the balcony, especially in cooler weather. But I would book them for the cabin itself!

Hi all!
It's been a little while since my last Carnival cruise. We are looking to book some grandkids next spring on the Carnival Conquest. If I remember right, there used to be a website that gave info on various cabins, and whether they connected with the cabin next door (the balcony could open, etc) Is there such a website I could go to? Is there any other way to know which balconies can open to each other?
Thanks,
Janet

Am I correct in assuming that there will be no wine package on the Regal 14 day, since this is actually two 7 day cruises? (although booked as a 14 day cruise) We have enjoyed the wine packages on the Royal the past 3-4 years. We were hoping there was a chance it would be available on the Regal.

I am a seasoned cruiser on both Carnival and Princess. (18 Carnival, 25 Princess) Carnival seemed a good fit when I was in my 30's. Party until late, lot's of pool activities, good food, and fun in the dining room! What's not to like?
We are now in our 60's and 70's. Princess is our cruiseline of choice. We are now in a season of life where we like to spend more time in our cabin. (therefore a nice cabin is a must) We love to rise early, have a variety of activities, have quiet time in our cabin, as well as quiet time in a chair catching a few rays. We catch many indoor activities during the day. We do not need to be on the go every minute, and we do not care where the late night party is held.
That being said, we have grandkids that we take from time to time. Carnival is a great fit, as those cruises are about THEM. Loud, busy, towel animals, kids, kids, kids! Can't beat it for them.
Lastly, what I don't like about some Princess cruises is the complaining. I am going out on a limb here. Older passengers who feel the world revolves around them. They don't think they should wait. They don't like the food. They just plain take for granted the fact that they are amazingly lucky to be able to travel and even be able to afford a cruise. They have spent $50K-$100K in their lifetime on cruises. They seem negative. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS, PLEASE. Not everyone, but I see this on some of the 10+ day cruises.
Carnival vs Princess...... two great lines for different sets of people. Apples and Oranges...all fruit! ;)

We have yet to take an Alaskan cruise. 2018 is our 30th anniversary, and we may look into doing just that! However, I would love to hear which Alaskan cruise is the best (your favorite), especially for someone who will probably only take just one such cruise. What are the "must sees" and "must dos?"
Thanks,

The Elite mini bar - please don't change. It is a great source of entertainment for me. Mom is elite but really doesn't drink. But for some reason loves those little bottles. Before the drink package I might drink the 2 beers. But more often than not she packed up the beers along with the little bottles. One time I picked up her carryon to put in the car and a beer bottle fell out. So embarrassing.
She is stressed lately and tonight I made her a drink. The little bottle probably was from a cruise 3 years ago . She wanted a highball. I had whiskey (hot toddy left overs) but she wanted the little bottle.
Mom is about to turn 83 has dementia. She loves the elite mini bar setup!
Thank you for this story. Made me smile!

Being elite, we enjoy the benefit of having a minibar setup. As we very much appreciate this perk, as well as the fact that we can call to make changes, I wonder about the man hours involved in doing it this way. Why can't we request what we prefer prior to the cruise in the personalizer?
With the present system, someone first originates the initial setup. Someone delivers it to the cabin. I then sit down and write out what I REALLY want. I call and the person in room service has to take my new order. They in turn, give it to someone who makes the new setup. Someone else then has to deliver it to the cabin (most often the next day). They take back what we didn't want, and so on. Seems like wasted time to me. Am I missing something?
Just an observation.:o Maybe the new Ocean medallion will change this?

Also ready to sail on the Royal on March 20th! This will be third time on her. Excited to read your review. Different islands for the most part. Thanks for the review!

Horizon court is perfect for us! Just glad to be on and want a quick bite before we unpack.

My understanding was that the new beds were in the Club Class minis to start with. That is what the Princess sight indicates. Club class just started 4-5 weeks ago on the Royal. Maybe this isn't so????? Maybe someone who recently sailed in a club class cabin on the Royal can chime in.

If you are in a suite, I understand you can order from the MDR breakfast menu. Can you write that order on the breakfast card or must we call room service with the order?
In a suite, you can do it either way.

On little tip for M107/108, there is a two prong european plugin under the bed closer to the far night stand.
The lamp uses that plug but I use it with the adapter for a charging station in the open shelve of the night stand.
Is this kind of adapter readily available? Could a small travel fan be plugged in there?

MSW.Delafield,
Did you find out anything different on your recent cruise? (regarding M107, etc)

Love, love, love the food pictures! Question; how was the veal? It looks delicious for something different. I usually have the filet at the Crown Grill.

I was reading this very early this morning. I thought, "well, I better check ours!" I signed in and sure enough, a $520 reduction in our club class mini on the Royal. I was really pleased, but then I realized later that they not only refunded $520, but threw in our gratuities!;p Another $290!! So, THANKS for posting this!!
