Thanks for the response on the other thread too. I will post once I hear back from CURRENT Oasis sailors as to exactly how Izumi on Oasis is being treated. Hope ur right and it is treated just as the Chops, Park, etc. ESPECIALLY for lunch, as that's when my two HUNGRY boys would be going!

I hope ur right and I read from someone on Oasis less than a month ago that it still was the ala carte. I put a thread asking CURRENT sailers and hope I get the same answer you just emphasized as that would be fine for the boys. Is that for lunch too as that is really when they would go to Izumi?

I think your right and that is so frustrating!

If they now include it the same as the others, like Chops or Park or... that would be great as then they cover everything! No one at RCL has even suggested that so far??????

What are the current arrangements for Izumi. I have the UDP and the $35 credit I bought it with (back in Sept) seems now to be ONLY $20 and thats a big impack for my kids. Any current insights would be greatly appreciated!

My luck... they are BOTH wrong. I am going to try one more time today to get someone ON OASIS now to see what the story is.

On Oasis, ONLY Playmakers and Port Side Barb were $20, all other ala carte were $35. As to Oasis and Izumi, I keep getting different responses about that pre-set meal but three have confirmed that the rolls only get $20 and I know they got $35 a few months ago. My main point is if you buy something, they should not be able to reduce it's value after the fact!

I bought the UDP for a cruise back in Sept ($1K) and it had the gratuity attached then? I thought they always add the 18% onto it? Now they are changing the 'credit' for ala carte resteraunts, from the previous $35 down now to a $20... even if you bought it when it was $35! That absolutely sticks!!!! ... and they say NCL 'nickles and dimes' you!

Just called RCL twice and given different info each time! Once told that ALL ala carte, including Izumi, only get a credit of $20. Second call, Izumi is treated as a normal specialty restraunt and fully covered. Why can't they train there staff. I think I am cancelling the UDP

Thks... maybe they are in fact changing Izumi to a NON-ala carte. Again all of u are veterans, I have only been on 3 RCL cruises... the first was Song of America back in the early 80's so I will keep seeing the various responses. To be honest, personally I don't eat much so the MDR would have been fine for me but my DW and hungry sons.... that's a whole different story!

The point is still they only said 'Playmakers' and 'Portside' were $20 credit.... ALL OTHER ala carte (including Solarium and others) were $35 credit. I will check about the Izumi as that is listed on their site, even today, as ale carte!

I have a TA and asked her to follow up on this as well. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing in the fine print, or commercial law as I understand it, that allows then to change the 'value' of a purchased item. That would be like you buying sneakers 'pre-release' that list white laces then sending you sneakers without laces and saying you can always get a refund. Yeah, while they have had $1k since September? That stinks and this may be indicative of future actions on their part. I have heard many saying NCL 'nickles and dimes' you but NCL never pulled this type of thing on us in the past?

I just googled it.... Wonderland DaDong is only found on Spectrum of the Seas.

I may be stupid but what is Dadong? I didn't see that listed on Oasis anywhere? Solarium is also an ala carte and I know that was $35 before and now $20???

I hope RCL is not trying the ol 'two step' just to make a few $$$$$. That UDP was over a grand and thats alot when both boys are in college and Im retired!

Again, since they went from 45% off (when I got it in Sept) to 50% off (on site today)... a savings of $16 or so per person per day.... I want what I paid for and wondering if anyone else ever had this problem. The current site says NOTHING about Izumi being $35, it says "For restaurants with a la carte pricing, you'll receive a $20 food credit"

Bought the UDP in Sept 2021 for a sailing on 8/5/22. The UDP then said: “For restaurants with a la carte pricing, you'll receive a $35 food credit” (I did a screenshot) My Boys like sushi so they will use every dollar!!!! Going on my RCL today, when I pressed 'view details' on my reserved UDP it says: “For restaurants with a la carte pricing, you'll receive a $20 food credit” The overall price of the UDP went down a couple bucks since September BUT not to equate to a drop of $15 per visit at ALL a la carte specialty places? They can't do this can they... after again they took my money way back in September????

So it sounds like risk being a bit late (if the port is like 'Aspiring Cindy' said: it's a S*#t show! I) or get there a bit early so I'm done parking by 9:30 but then sit out in the heat on wooden benches waiting until 10am?
