I agree,,there are lots of whisky to suit most people,,.personally I don’t like peaty Scotch whiskey so quite happy with Irish whiskey.
Im still waiting for those who are railing about taking away the bottle of spirits to say why they don’t just order a bottle from room service,,,they are cheap enough.
Take your pick of whisky or whiskey.
You can even buy whiskey flights to find one you want.the only thing that disappoints me with P&O spirits is the mean 25ml measure,,,I sail Celebrity as well as P&O,,,on Celebrity it’s US measures and a bit more.
As stated in the original post this is from 2019 and is now much reduced

Having not cruised with P&O before I’ll just take your word for that one but for me, personally, there seems to be a lot of decent offerings and a lot of reasonable substitutions should I drink them dry of pink gin 😂

Definitely not solely blaming the newbies, as many have said before, they take their own drinks because they cannot get what they want on board.
I had never noticed it so blatant before, but this time I did and it wasn't being discouraged.
Andy
It seems that if they reintroduced more selection of drinks as in previous times it could rectify the unhappiness.

But we found Princess’s food quality in the MDRs much better overall and more variety, although we slightly prefer P&O’s speciality restaurants.
Agree.

That's my point, it used to be the odd few, now it seemed commonplace.
I don't doubt you are right about the baseline etc, but was just surprised how many were blatantly doing it now.
As has also been said before, if we don't like it, we can go elsewhere.
With all the ships sailing at capacity, there seems to be a stream of people willing to replace us, despite the cuts.
Andy
Are you saying it’s the newbies replacing us that are bringing their own drinks to the bars. Seems this is what P&O wanted and now they’re cracking down.

Cabins
Clean and modern. Great bathroom storage. Huge sofa in the balcony cabins. The cabins are definitely narrower on Iona. Lack of drawers is a pain. I asked for face cloths and 2 were provided every morning. Also asked for body lotion (I do take my own - this was for research purposes) and this was again provided. We don’t miss turndown, but we do miss having fresh towels after our evening shower.
Agree with this. We spend a lot of time in our cabin and they are very narrow. We had the larger cabin which is longer so you have a turn around space in the middle. The sofa is hard and the covering not nice. Lack of drawers and the ability to put small things out of sight annoying.
Loved the windows in the atrium so you could see out but the size made it very noisy.- 1

Im looking for next summer and seems to be so expensive for a 2yr old.
We've been lucky, done Azura in Jan and didnt pay for him, and doing MSC this summer and not paying for him. It's just a bit of a sickener when all of a sudden you the have to pay £900 or something for him 🤣
On the link I put above it says kids places from £199 a little way down in 2024.
MORE kids’ places from £199

I remember a few years ago a 3rd or 4th passenger would either be free or maybe £49 or £99 each on most cruiselines. There seems to be very little sight of this now - is it a thing of the past?

That's odd, because I had several frozen cocktails on Iona on my last cruise and watched them being made in front of me as I was sitting at the bar.
Just to confirm, this was each ingredient being put in separately, ice added and then mixed. Or was it one ingredient, ice added and then mixed.

Last time we went on Princess we could order a drink any where on the ship and it would be delivered fairly promptly but I think you to paya one off charge of £2.50 to enable that, is that correct?
Not if you are on Plus or Premium. And I think the extra only applies in respect for drinks to your room under Standard fare.
https://www.princess.com/en-uk/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages
Under standard fare
A one-time access fee of $14.99 per person per voyage will apply for OceanNow® delivery and a $5 room service fee will apply for each order placed by stateroom phone. OceanNow delivery refers to orders placed through the app that are delivered to wherever you are, including your stateroom.- 1

I think that the bigger issue is that since the restart the selection of drinks onboard has been drastically reduced and if one's favourite tipple is not available then that creates a problem. P&O need to reinstate the pre Covid drinks/wine menus if they are bringing in draconian rules.

Unfortunately this is not correct for Britannia.
We had Karl Shepherd last week, who was replaced on Friday by his deputy, I think his name was Denis?

Doesn’t surprise me

Hopefully the next Moments magazine will have the next list.

It seems a little tragic that some are thinking of smuggling on something because P&O don’t sell it too, just drink something that they do sell or if it’s that important cruise with a line that sells what you want.
The cocktails and liqueurs that P&O now have are very limited. Gins however are in abundance.

We did see lots of people with hip flasks
As P&O have restricted drinks so much now and no longer have Chambord in the bars we are tempted to take it in a hip flask to add to Prosecco to create Kir Royale. They also no longer do many cocktails including French Martini.

Thankfully this wouldn’t affect us as the drinks packages wouldn’t be cost effective for us even before the price increase, and we never take alcohol on board with us. However, I note that spirits cannot be taken on board during embarkation, so presumably those who like a tipple in their cabin could buy a bottle at the first port?
You can buy a bottle of spirits from room service to drink in your cabin. It is not terrifically more expensive than supermarkets.

Did you do this independently or with P&O? Glad you had a great time even with mishaps.

Okay thanks. We were on 18 months ago and you had to use the myholiday. We will need a table for 4
Sorry should have said. We were on Ventura a couple of weeks ago.

Do you still have to use the myholiday for dinner on Ventura or is it just turn up now like Arcadia?
You just turn up on Ventura. If you want a table for two and they are full they will issue a pager and you can sit in a lounge or bar and wait.

Good morning, just a quick question. Do CPS open parking places up again for paying customers if not all complimentary spaces are taken.
Booked on Arcadia for Iceland in June and the difference between select and saver was £1200. We chose saver as we have obstructed sea view which are all on the same deck.
Looked at parking for cruises but some reviews were worrying.
Thank you
Yes CPS can be booked without the free parking. Just go to the website to get a quote.

You're assuming that any OBC also equates to an equal amount of extra pricing,
This always seems to happen a few weeks after the cruises come on sale. A year or two later not sure.
Drinks package/policy changes?

They don’t, the list is from 2019. Much reduced now.
