  1. I really like the huevos rancheros. I haven't tried much else at the brunch because I always get it. I plan on trying the steak and eggs this upcoming trip. I've seen the Pork Chop and it looks delicious! We just never go there for lunch so I've never ordered it. (not really into pork chops for breakfast lol)

  2. In my opinion what you want to do is unethical; others will disagree. So I will let them answer.

    How is it unethical? :')

I called Carnival to switch people around so we could do this exact thing and told them exactly why we were doing it and they were like, okay sure, not a problem. If Carnival doesn't care, why should you?

  3. Am I the only one who thought this was going to be about bread and butter?

Anyway, It seems as though many first time cruisers start out with Carnival and then eventually venture off to try other lines. It probably has to do with price and convenience. I agree that first time cruisers probably on average spend more money on board than experienced cruisers. I've only been on 5 cruises so far, and I think I have definitely spent less money on each one. It makes sense that you would want to experience everything on your first cruise.

  4. My very first cruise was a back to back. On my first cruise I received a blue card (as I expected) and on my second cruise I received a blue card again. They said the system wasn't updated before my card printed and told me I could come back later and get my gold card (as it was then). I never did, cause I didn't really care, just letting you know my experience. I also didn't receive an invitation to the past guest party (as gold cards did back then), so I guess the system never did update. :) This was 5 years ago though, so it could be different now.

  5. I did that on two sets of cabins on our upcoming cruise. We were able to do it with no penalty. Some of the rooms were booked on early saver, and some were not (this was before final payment). I told her exactly why we were doing it too. Hopefully you have the same experience!

  6. more power to the people who enjoy them....but I never understood the love of the line dancing sail away thing....not really a cruising thing to me. and I'm a DJ who leads these dances on a weekendly basis! ;)

I've never joined in on any of our cruises to date, but I think some of the newbies we are bringing next month might enjoy them, so I want them to be prepared.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I will tell them to start learning!

  7. We've only taken one cruise to date where we didn't visit Disney as well. We live in Canada, and flights are very expensive, so it only makes sense to combine the two into one trip. There's a reason I've mostly sailed out of Port Canaveral. :)

We've done both shuttles and car rentals and it really depends on the situation and how many people we have with us. Car rentals are usually cheaper, especially if you have a family of 4 for example. Shuttles drop you off right at the port though, which is nice, so there's that to consider too. I would just choose whichever is cheaper, or if you want the convenience of having a car while at WDW (we hate the buses and like to do things off property as well, like shop!), get a car.

  8. I sincerely hope they don't roll this out to all the ships. Because that would suck. Sometimes we don't always KNOW we want to go to a show until about 15 min or so before and if we don't get a good seat, then that's on us because we didn't get there 30-45 min ahead of time. I noticed (and they may have done it on other ships, IDK) that on the Breeze once a comedy show was over, you got kicked out of the lounge and were made to go stand in a line that went from the door of the comedy lounge, through the piano bar and three quarters of the way down the promenade. If you went to show #1 and wanted to attend show #2, there was absolutely NO chance of getting a half decent seat. Period. If you're in the lounge and you want to stay for the second show, they shouldn't kick you out. You showed up early, you got a good seat and you shouldn't have to give it up. It's not like you're chair hogging on the Lido..your butt is in that seat.

So people with late dining shouldn't be allowed to see any comedy shows? It would not be possible for them if they allowed the first show guests to just sit there all night. (which, I'm sure, if why they do this).

  9. Great review Patricia! I'm happy to see another review from you, I've always enjoyed yours. I'm glad you mentioned in your last post that your parents will be platinum next cruise. I was surprised and a bit confused to see your Dad wearing a Gold card on his lanyard in one of the pics, I thought for sure they must be platinum by now! Do you ever travel with your Goddaughter any more?

  10. The videos I've seen make it clear that the Southern dining room has more windows, and it is more likely that you'll have a nicer view from your table. However, the videos made clear that once it gets dark that doesn't afford much of a benefit.

Yes, we've had window tables before and they are kind of pointless since it's dark out when we're at dinner and you can't see anything anyway.

  11. Out of the 28 cruises we have taken-we have only had one suitcase delayed due to luggage tag being torn off. We have been using the plastic tags sold on Cruise Critic for years-and haven't had any mia suitcases. Just to be on the safe side I do put a copy of our luggage tag on the inside of our cases-just in case.

We use the plastic holders from amazon and we also put a copy in our suit case. Never can be too prepared! Not receiving luggage on a cruise is a nightmare I do not wish to experience.

  12. I apologize if this is somewhat hijacking your thread, but this a related question. Does Carnival teach the line dances they do at the sail away party and other parties or are you just expected to know them or pick them up by watching? I've never actually participated in any of these but I think my family of newbies that are joining us next cruise would enjoy joining in.

  13. They sell apple cider vinegar capsules?? [emoji33][emoji33] I'm going on Amazon right now!! Thanks

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

You're welcome, glad to help! I got them on Amazon too. The best part is, you don't have to drink vinegar. :D

  14. I don't think you should have to tip extra either. However, I will bring some extra tip money and tip as I feel appropriate. If I find a great bartender who is super friendly and/or makes extra special drinks for example, yes I will tip extra. If some surly jerk pops open a beer for me, a tip is not gonna happen!
