  1. I just tried to log into my latitudes account and it said my credentials were wrong. I had to click on forgot password and it emailed me with a weird user name and password reset link. I was able to get into my account but my profile was showing as first time cruiser with no history - so clearly there is a glitch.

has anyone else had this problem recently?

  2. So, what do we not currently know as of yet?

    Food:

    - Is there a main dining room?

    - Is there a buffet or is the Indulge Food Hall taking its place?

    - Is there a casual walk up style food offering near the pools (I suspect The Local or Food Hall)

    - Will The Local be 24 hours like on other ships?

    - Will there be other specialty restaurants besides Onda and Los Lobos? (i.e. Le Bistro, Cagney's).

    Ocean Boulevard:

    - Are the infinity pools on both sides of the ship adults only, aka the new Spice H20? or are they an extra charge, aka the new Vibe?

    - Is the Indulge Outdoor Lounge open to everyone or does require an extra charge?

    Top Deck:

    - will there be the rumored go-kart track around the funnel?

    - will there be a "main pool" in the traditional sense?

    - what else is going up there?

    Entertainment:

    - we know nothing! 🙂

    what else did I forget?

If you scroll through there is some concept art that some great Cruise Critic detectives found for us, but this mostly is from very early on.

Comparing the the timelines for the Breakaway and Breakaway+ Class ships, we should have official name, deck plans and itineraries at this point, but all we are left with are these small clues people have pieced together.

It’s quite remarkable that NCL has kept this so secretive for so long. But at the same time, it’s comical when people on here locate info and share it...just to have NCL make official statements down the road.

YES! Especially when you have Royal, Disney and Celebrity all revealing detials about their new ships, within days of one another....Disney had a very glitz and well produced "virtual" unveiling / tour of their new Disney Magic ship today (coincidentally being built at Meyer Werft, which has built mostly all of the current NCL fleet)

At first I thought NCL was being sensitive with COVID and not wanting to "promote" a new ship, but clearly there must be other reasons, if multiple other cruise lines aren't stopping...

Breaking news from my travel agent: the announcement & booking date have been pushed forward to May 12. No word on whether any deck plans or other info will be released before then.

Four more weeks of speculation, hurray.

bummer, but really not surprised at all...I bet they push it back to June, my prediction

  5. That name is surely a departure from all the other ship names. I bet this is part of FDR's strategy of "upgrading" the public's perception of NCL and therefore can justify the higher prices across the board.

Personally, I am not a fan. It makes me think of an Italian cruise line like Costa or the AIDA ships. But, any news is good news I guess, at this point

TRAVEL ALERTUpdated: April 6, 2021 - Suspended Cruises

In conjunction with our return to service announcement, we have extended our voluntary temporary suspension through August 31, 2021 for the following ships; Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Sky, Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Star and Norwegian Sun. In addition, Norwegian Epic through Sept. 1, 2021; and Norwegian Pearl through Nov. 7, 2021 have also been suspended.

Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem now boast new homeports in Greece and the Caribbean for three new and exciting itineraries sailing in July. Book them now!

No changes have been made to the July and August cruises on Norwegian Bliss and Pride of America.

We are committed to taking all appropriate actions to combat the spread of COVID-19 and are working closely and in partnership with local, state, federal and global agencies. Our teams are working around the clock to do what is right by our guests and travel partners and will keep them informed of the latest happenings.

I don't see the Encore mentioned, could they be saving another "surprise" itinerary for her, or was it a simple mistake in leaving her off the list?

On topic; we're 6 weeks out from the moment Leonardo 1 goes on sale. We surely must get some news from NCL in the coming weeks....?

i would agree, under normal circumstances, we'd most certainly would've heard a lot more by now...however, I think NCL is waiting until the last possible moment to make any announcements given everything else going on, so as to not appear insensitive or whatever...aka they don't want "bad" PR

  8. I don't think we will hear much about Leo 1 for several weeks, if not months, due to the new administration and the obvious focus on the vaccine and getting the existing ships back into service. I am super excited about this ship and will likely book her - so I want to know all the details, too! I just think we're going to have a wait longer than expected/hoped.

    Hopefully I am wrong!

  9. There are rumors that NCL was going to build a pier and add some more attractions (slides, lazy river, etc.) but that was pre-COVID, so not sure if any new upgrades will actually happen, likely not for several years at this point.

"NCL is embarking on design and construction of Phase III at Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. Facilities include a new pier which can accommodate two passenger ships simultaneously, water attractions, pools, a lazy river and new beaches. A new Bahamian Village will be constructed with food and beverage venues for guests as well as dormitories for service staff along with supporting infrastructure for water, sewer, and power systems."

  10. Was just googling about and came across this description of future GSC improvements from the construction company that did the previous improvements at GSC and is currently buidling the new terminal in Miami. I wonder if COVID has cancelled any of these plans and what may be actually coming:

I saw an inside cruiser segment today that said they expect a big NCL Leonardo announcement in January or February.  Its hard to believe but we are just over 1.5 years away from launch 😲

exciting and hopefully it's somewhat revealing given everything else going on in the world...is "inside cruiser" another website or forum? I'd like to check it out if possible.

  12. I am scheduled to be in St. Thomas on Thursday, 2/18/21 from 10am to 7pm via the NCL Bliss. Looks like the next available ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay isn't until 12noon. Is that too late to truly enjoy Trunk Bay? Would I be better off doing a ship excursion?

  13. Scheduled to visit this new port/dock via the NCL Bliss in February 2021. I had read that there was going to be a water park of some kind with slides/lazy river, etc. Is that still happening?

Looks like a popular excursion in the general area are the waterfalls? Also heard something about a cable car that goes to the top of a mountain?

We are due to sail towards the end of April, but we are holding out and hoping they cancel so we can just get our money back. We did not pay several thousand dollars to go on a ship that has all of the activities shut down, a port that we possibly may not be able to stop at, or the possibility of being quarantined for up to 2 weeks.  That is certainly not what we paid for when we booked this back in the fall.

BINGO! We are in the exact same boat and totally aligned/on the same page

Our cruise is the 4 day NYC to Bermuda on the Encore from April 22-26...
