Thanks so much for the quick response. I guess I better clue them in on this. The other option offered by "X" was on deck 10 or 11 aft. Not an aft balcony, just way, way back. They want to feel as little motion as possible, so the obstructed view seemed like a better location. Funny, they didn't want a balcony due to height issues; an obstruction will help that issue. But, I would think that once they board and sail away, they will want the view.
Thanks again.

My in-laws are about to take their first cruise. They may be booking cabin 6191 or 6192; how bad is the obstruction? Does anyone have photos for either of these cabins?
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi. Our sail date is 4/12/15, didnt realize we could book already. Is that possible for us lowly platinums? Thanks, c
We booked our 4/12/15 dining last week. The first rep couldn't get into my 12/01/14 reservation and suggested that we do the 4/12, instead. While she was trying to get in, we were disconnected after 34 minutes. When she didn't call back, I called the department and spoke to another rep. After 82 minutes her "assist desk" person was able to book nights 2-12. She then told me that there were no reservations open for any venue on night 1. Mind you, the requested early reservations we got are for as "early" as 8:45!!
The kicker is that we don't know what we will have to reserve in the way of show offerings. Probably will negate all this effort and render our reservations useless. This is the case with our 12/01 booking. We will either have to skip our reservations or miss the booked shows.
I don't know how long my stock is going to climb when they have to hire and train all the new personnel to sit on the phone with 1 person for an hour or more at one time.
Sorry for the rant; I didn't even mention the linked solo traveler joining us on the 12/01 cruise who they cannot include on our reservations. I'm sure she will enjoy her table for one on the nights they can't match us up.
Sorry.....:mad::o:(

Lol no it is not pronounced "chick"..... I would of had to politely correct her. The correct pronunciation is "sheek"....

Maybe the rep was right, after all, this whole mess did lay an egg, BIG time.

Depending on your departure port, you may pay local sales tax if you buy before you are in open seas. This is the case in Cape Liberty. With that in mind, we purchase our soda packages online before we sail. We avoid the 7% sales tax and are able to get our beverages as soon as we board. You won't have your "souvenir" cup until after 1 PM, when you are able to access your cabin, but you can still get a soda with your buffet lunch, from a waiter.
Have a great cruise.

Thanks everyone. My problem is that I stopped looking at the decks before I got to 14. Oops. :o
A dear friend just said she would be coming along on this cruise, as she is Diamond, we would have found out the secret, anyway! ;)
See you at the Diamond!

We had 2 beverage makers in our Grandeur JS last month. Unfortunately, we never used them, so I can't help you. We kept popping into the Diamond Lounge to get cappuccino and espresso. You can run the machine twice to get a full cup. Not as convenient as having it in your cabin, but very tasty!I was thinking the same thing -- we are booked in a Jr Suite on the Grandeur (our first one) and I read there was a coffee/tea maker. It would be great to have more details so I can bring the right caffeine supplies. -
Hi,
I know that the deck plan information online is small, but I can't find the location of the Diamond Lounge on the Liberty. I found the D+/Concierge Lounge on Deck 10, but the Diamond Lounge is hiding from me.
Would someone please be so kind as to divulge its hiding place?
Thanks.

we were in all the same venues, plus the Disney House of Horrors. AKA, our JS. We never cared that the balcony doors didn't lock, until Wednesday. They kept opening and slamming shut. However, they were on a different rhythm than our closet doors, mirrored doors, and dresser drawers. We were laughing so hard we couldn't get any good pictures. We are on the Grandeur NOW and waiting for our second half of our B2B to begin.I just read all the speculation in this thread...interesting speculation.
Yes, we had rough seas.
Yes, we had some waves larger than others.
Yes, there is some damage to deck 10.
Yes, that is the canvas ceiling cover.
NO, that is NOT seaweed.
We spent that day both before and after the damage sitting in the Concierge Lounge, dining room, Diamond Lounge, etc. watching the beautiful rough sea. It was pretty much a normal rough day at sea for all of us both before and AFTER the OP's post's photo was taken.
We are expecting to sail on time this afternoon.
We are driving home now and I can't seem to find a way to post a photo.
We were told they would do a major repair when the spend time in Bermuda.

Not only did we do that and receive a positive response on our last cruise, but we were offered a discount on our next cruise aboard that ship as we were sailing her a few months later. :DFinally, if you do dine at a specialty restaurant and want to eat there again, ask the maitre d' if he would give you a discount if you ate there again. Answer is almost always yes.

We are often cruising when the new Caribbean itineraries are scheduled to come out. It always seems to come through about a week after we disembark. I sure hope they are on time, this year, as we will be cruising that week and would love to book early.
Thanks for the heads-up.

I'll bump up the post, as I would like to know, as well.

I'm with you on the Century; thanks for the links. I was glad to get a peek at the 2 beaches that have been recommended on the threads.
-
We'll be there in a couple of weeks and appreciate the information posted here. I haven't checked the ship excursions yet, do they typically have something for St Barths? That may be our best bet. Three of us will be touring and one has mobility issued.
-
We're sailing with friends who have never seen him; bummer, we had them really psyched up. I'm sure we'll be well entertained, no matter who is CD.
-
We're actually at the BW Plus in Dania. They had the best deal for us. Still pretty close to the airport and pier.
-
I am not sure why a taxi wouldn't be the better choice, in cost and ease of arranging.
Thank you both for your suggestion. There are a couple of concerns; the first is the amount of luggage (and a walker) we will have, the other is that my DH has some mobility issues and a standard size vehicle may be difficult to manage.
-
Why don't you just take a cab? The port is very close to town.
Or last year, I phoned the hotel and asked what they'd suggest, we ended up sharing a van (from hotel to port) with a fellow CC'er.
Thanks for the response. We have luggage concerns regarding traveling in a standard size vehicle. I would love to share a vehicle, however, this is for a post cruise stay. I will check on my roll call; although I did post this there, as well.

Hi Everyone.
I have been working on getting hotels for a couple of days, both before and after our cruises. I am running into a problem with transfers from Port Everglades back to the hotel I plan on booking. Just found a website, fortlauderdale transfers dot com; they have a deal that would work for us.
Has anyone heard of this company, or have one to recommend? Your help is appreciated. Once I get all this stuff done, I can concentrate on catching up and finding out who our fellow cruisers are. ;)
Thanks!

I've spent hours last night and today looking into hotels in FLL. When I called this hotel, they said they did not have transportation back to the hotel after the cruise. Bummer. This hotel seemed like our best bet.
We are flying into FLL, staying 2 nights and boarding the ship. Upon return, we are staying 2 nights again, then flying home.
I can't seem to find anything that does both air and cruise, RT.
Does anyone know anything about getting transportation back to the hotel?
Thanks.

Saw Richard on the Explorer last November and again on the Freedom in May. He is certifiable; that's why we love him!!
At least he will be on 1 of our QOS cruises; so happy. :D

I will also, under these same terms, volunteer to give some of my time each day to help create a successful new program.Okay, let's end this. Here's what they should do: Invite me and my DW along with 9 other selected cruisers and spouses or significant other to be their guests on a cruise. The group will meet with high ranking decision makers from Celebrity and be charged with creating new loyalty program. The meetings can be held in my gratis PH Suite to ensure privacy. Figure that this will take 10 to 11 days to complete our work since we should be meeting for about an hour each day. Celebrity's loyalty program questions will be finally answered and they can always use the group as the defense for any attacks.LMAO!

We have taken a case of water on trips from Cape Liberty and Port of Baltimore with just a luggage tag. We did reinforce with duct tape, so it would arrive dry. No problems. One Florida port, we had to carry it ourselves, but I don't remember if it was Port Canaveral or Port Everglades.
We get a soda card, so never bothered to bring any on board.
