Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We will be sailing Oasis this Sunday to the Bahamas...hoping Lee stays out to sea!
  2. This!!! Many ppl are going up for 2nds and 3rds after eating with their hands....not to mention all the utensils with the handles that are literally laying in the food.... I seriously have to not think about it too much! Lol And I do love a good buffet!
  3. Our Sept cruise on Oasis will be our first with the "new menus" and "new once a day state room service". I'm thinking we will be fine w the once a day service, because it never fails we come back to our room when they are there, or ours is next in line. Its awkward and inconvenient. Picking a time in the evening would work out great for us. Extra towels would be a must. And I have always wished an empty cart would be available somewhere along the hallway to dispose of dirty dishes. In my opinion the entire dining experience has declined since our very first cruise in 2008. Selections and quality in the dining room and Windjammer are not as good. We still have had very nice meals and excellent service, and plenty of food available, but not fine dining. And I do miss seeing everyone dressed up πŸ™‚The extra charge dining options have more than doubled in price and we only choose them for a special occasion. Food is the big one for me... I'm no foodie...but I need good food! πŸ™‚ All of that being said...the overall cost of a cruise has not changed that much in 15 years. (not counting the deal of the century covid cruises lol). We have enjoyed all of our cruises, and so far we still find them to be of good value.
  4. Once a day service would be fine w us. We are night owls, and late risers on a cruise, so we always have to put out the "do not disturb sign"...I would be more concerned we would miss the rounds lol. ... extra towels would be a must for sure!
  5. We went on our first cruise 15 years ago, and have cruised almost every year since, exclusively on RC. There have been many changes since we started cruising, but it is still our preferred vacation. We are paying almost $1000 more this year than we did last year...for the exact same sailing! - Oasis out of NJ in Sept. For us, I am less apt to give them even more $$ for specialty restaurants. I can honestly say we have never had a bad cruise and have never went to bed hungry. Lol
  6. We have never tried the Chefs Table. Are you able to choose the night? Is it held on more than one night, and does it normally sell out? TIA
  7. And...we cruise Sept 4th! Dang! Been holding off on setting up the proctored tests hoping we wouldn't have to do it. Maybe we can get some OBC for our unfortunate timing. Lol πŸ˜†πŸ€”πŸ˜‰
  8. The price of lobster has finally come down here (soft shell $6.99/lb), and I actually prefer soft shell for the ease of cracking, but need two lobsters πŸ˜‰ We ventured into Bar Harbor yesterday and played tourist...the "lobster experience" was $55. I'm thinking the lobster I had was barely over the cutoff for the min size limit!
  9. We sail Oasis on Sept 4th, also first time as Diamond, and the first time on Oasis since the amplification. Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures Twangster! We are very excited for this sailing!
  10. We sail our first cruise as Diamond on Oasis next month. We have always purchased the DBP, but will not this time. Our plan is to bring two bottles of wine, bring bottled water to have in our cabin, drink coffee from Diamond lounge, use our four drink coupons each, and purchase drinks above and beyond that. Expecting to purchase 2-3 additional drinks each per day (using coupons for $13 drinks, and buying a beer or two). We should/could save around $350.
