  1. I think the title says it all. :D

DH and I just upgraded to a suite on our Allure cruise next month, which will be our first time on Royal with access to the Concierge Lounge.

Before the upgrade, DH was thinking of getting the soda package, and I was considering the $20/day non-alcohol package (Royal Replenish?).

Does the CL have cans of soda? Mixed drinks (pina coladas and the like)? Good hot chocolate? Also, presuming there's a mini-fridge in the room (we'll be in a crown loft suite), are the drinks in there complementary? The only time we've sailed concierge was on Disney, and there everything in your mini-fridge was included, but Royal's perks seem pretty different than Disney's.

    Thanks for any info!

  2. Try going the back way to 'before you board' as suggested by Clarea, but then go to pre cruise planner or countdown to cruise, then once logged in through there, go to your documentation. This worked for me.

I've been locked out of my January Allure reservation for almost 2 weeks at this point. Royal customer service can unlock it, but when I try to access it again it just re-locks and won't let me in, and gives me various error messages. I tried the "countdown to cruise" back way in and it's the only thing that worked for me - I was able to print my set sail pass and see my luggage tags. All of the other "back doors" that were working for others weren't working for my reservation - that "countdown to cruise" link saved my bacon. :D So, maybe start there?

I think this is the direct link:

  3. This also happened to us when we upgraded and we had to have the porter write out tags for us at the pier. It was fine though and really only took a minute or 2

Oh, that's good to know, thanks! Our last cruise on Royal was right before they discontinued sending tags, so we've always had them. I'm fine with it getting done at the port if need be. :)

  4. Try using this link Countdown to Cruise

Thank you so much for this link! I've been locked out of my upcoming Allure cruise reservation for almost 2 weeks. The customer service reps keep trying to "back door" me in, but none of the other back doors has worked. This is the first one that's been successful.

We've been nervous because we upgraded and also linked our reservations with some friends', and hadn't been able to check that it was all done correctly, and also hadn't been able to print our Set Sail Pass. I was able to get in with this link and do all of that, finally! :) The only issue is that our luggage tags are still showing our old, pre-upgrade room number, but I'm hoping we'll get sent the correct tags since we upgraded to a suite. Now at least I can rest easy knowing all our changes went through ok.

  5. The only thing I would change is to have a NON-Alcoholic frozen drink package. That's it...seriously. Just that tiny little thing. (Who's with me???)

It looks like the new $20/night drink package starting soon will include non-alcoholic cocktails (frozen and not), soda, juice, and gourmet coffee and tea. The description just says "cocktails", but customer service seems to be telling people it would include frozen things like virgin margaritas, virgin coladas, etc. There is a thread about it on this board somewhere.

Sorry to hear about your mom and other family members. I hope for the best for you all.

  6. I think I've mentioned this before, but I wish the MDR was open on embarkation day for lunch. NCL does this and it was so nice to walk onto our NCL ship and sit and have a relaxing meal w/o having to drag our carryon all over the place. (And for the record, I think RCCL beats the pants off NCL in almost every other way, but that MDR lunch was great.) We're going on Allure in a couple of months and made lunch reservations at Giovanni's Table for embarkation day so we don't have to do the Windjammer obstacle course.

Totally agree re the pool towels - what a pain! - and would love to have a lemonade/iced tea station available 24 hours somewhere like the promenade cafe or pool deck.

  7. Same with my Jan 2015 cruise. 20% too. Glad I booked the day it opened up.

My cabin type (D-1) has only gone up $100/pp for the same cruise. I booked the day after reservations opened for C&A members. Oh well. Still cheaper than the D-1's on my upcoming Allure cruise, so I feel like I'm getting a bargain on Quantum. :p

  8. I got really excited when I saw the junior suite room plans had two bathrooms, but I looked on the RCCL site and the room description only says one bathroom.

Finally figured out, the regular junior suites have one bath, and the "family" junior suites have the extra half bath.

I'm currently booked in a balcony, not a junior suite, but thought i'd mention it and save someone the time in case they were trying to figure it out, too. would love to be in a jr suite but we've got one coming up on allure and the $$$ is  , so i think we'll be sticking with the balcony for quantum.

shaun07, thanks for starting this thread! it's got a lot more pictures than i've seen before, and it's handy to have all the info in one place. only 570-something more days of reading before we sail.... :D
