  1. I seem to be the only person who had their points added on the 14th.  They showed in my points history and my total was also updated on the same day.  I posted that a few days back but I think people didn't believe me but everybody is getting points added now and mine are still at what was added on Saturday so I really did get them on the 14th, I thought maybe I was mistaken about my total but I have a picture from the last time PUPS were added and 5 more were added on Saturday.  So weird.  BUT I'm glad those of you who were waiting for the points to get ELITE before a cruise this month have now got them!  Enjoy!

I don't think anyone's had them added to their total points yet

I have received my points as of yesterday.  They show in my history AND my total is now 5 points higher!  This was all showing yesterday morning for me.  I hope those of you needing them for an upcoming cruise this month get them.  If not I'd be calling and asking them to manually add them, but normally everyone does get them by the 15th.

I saw earlier that in Jan 2025 the Summit offered a 10 day cruise to the ABC Islands from San Juan.  Now on the Celebrity Website the month of January for the Summit is blank.  Anyone know what is going on with the Summit.

There was a 10 day cruise on January 29th, we were booked on it at a GREAT rate right when it came out, BUT Celebrity cancelled it and offered nothing to replace it nor any price protection on a new cruise so we booked with Princess.  Summit will now go out of FLL and has charters.  They moved around  a few different ships all starting January 2025, so lots of sailings cancelled and changed.

Based on what you've written, it sounds like this is true for the most part, but it also sounds like you had a very, very poor waiter. Thanks for your review and I hope you feel better.

    Thanks

I think he was probably a good waiter but working without an assistant most of the time and serving 3 larger tables, he was doomed to failure.  There was no way he could do all the running, serving etc and have things hot.  He seemed very experienced and very apologetic when  we brought the cold soup to his attention.  Maybe it came from the kitchen that way, who knows.  He did seem to know his stuff, just was overworked.  But I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt so I could be too lenient as well.  But the food offerings were a big issue too.  Definitely noticeable cutbacks.

  5. I was on this Silhouette sailing as well.  I LOVE Celebrity.  I cruised 4 times in 2022, 3 of them with Celebrity.  I was just on the Equinox in November.  So I feel I can give a good unbiased comparison.  I was in and inside room on both cruises.

The Silhouette sailing was .... disappointing.   We were 3 couples ALL who have sailed many times.  We did all have a good time because, it's a cruise, but there were some disappointing things.

The Silhouette at times was a hot mess.  I have over 36 cruises and not once have I ever had a cruise run out of towels.  Everyday... everywhere for hours.   There would be no pool towels ANYwhere including the solarium for hours.  They actually started giving us times when more towels would be available.  Near the end of the cruise they started adding the yellow beach towels to the towel rotation since it was 2 days at sea on the end and the beach towels weren't needed.

Most of the issues I will comment on seem to be a staffing issue.  The staff we did interact with were polite and hardworking, the problem, I think, was there was not enough of them.  I will list a few points I noticed

VERY little drink orders being taken, especially in the solarium after day 1.

Dirty cups and food plates would stack up on the marble half wall in the solarium.  When staff went by they would clear it but staff rarely went by.

There was really only 1 girl working on cleaning and mopping water in the solarium and she did NOT stop.  She was constantly working, she needed help.

The Oceanview cafe was SO chaotic.  Never a chair anywhere.  We had to wait until someone left, stand at that table and wait until a staff member could get over to clean it, this often happens on a full ship but there was not enough staff to clean off tables so people were waiting alot.

Funny thing, my hubby LOVES feta and it was available for the first 5 days or so at the salad area, then disappeared.  They second last day, the lunch theme in the buffet was Greek:  salad, baklava, moussaka, etc but not ONE spec of feta anywhere.  Not on the greek salads or any of the greek food.  I guess they ran out early. lol  Just weird not to hold some back for the actual Greek theme.

The dining room... ooohhh  the dining room, perhaps where the most evident lack of staffing was.  Our waiter and assistant tried SO hard but just couldn't keep up.  We had room temperature french onion soup, with the cheese on top not even grilled, we had escargots that were again barely room temperature.  I had a medium steak, that was raw and decided to give it another go on night and that night ordered medium and it was completely cooked.  We could never understand why the assistant would pour water and disappear leaving the waiter to literally run the rest of the meal.  Then we noticed she was near the railing above us (we were 6 pm set dining) and above was anytime and she was up there clearing and resetting tables.  Obviously they were short staffed and she was helping up there but that left us with barely any warm food at all.  We asked for extra butter 3 nights in a row since they only gave us 2 when we were 3 couples, we finally got it on the 4th night but promptly was forgotten again.  We did tell the server that the french onion soup was cold, very gently as we was trying really hard and we didn't want to overburden him.   On the meal where my steak was overcooked, I swear the potatoes came right out of the fridge.  It was odd that they weren't just luke warm but actually felt as if they were refrigerated.  So odd.

My party all drink wine, the sommelier was also running and often glasses were empty waiting for a refill.  He was wonderful just overworked.   I like cocktails with dinner, well good luck with that,  I waited over 30 minutes the first 2 nights to get one.  The 3rd night my sister asked the server to just put 2 of my cocktails at my place setting before we even got there so I would at least have a drink.  The next 2 nights, no cocktail, but he swears he put it there an someone must have taken them.

I'm honestly not a complainer and did NOT complain about these things, just asked again or reminded the server but you can bet I filled out my questionairre with all these things.  I made sure to say that the staff were wonderful and trying really hard but it was a short staffing problem, not a poor staff problem.

Also another thing to note is dinner is now Very boring.  Nothing unusual or exiting at all.  2 salads and 2 soups most nights as starters, thats it.  Once there was a spring roll and once or twice one other thing.  But tuna poke, spinach turnover, beef carpaccio, among many other favorties are all gone.

Dinner choices (other than the every night things which remain the same)  A fish,  a chicken, a pork or beef (not usually both) and a vegetarian.  That's it, no prime rib, no ribs, no beef cheeks, lots of old favorites gone.

So that's my comparison, there is actually alot more I could say but I will leave it at that.  Also just wanted to note that I did not have any of these complaints on the Equinox in November, not one, so I'm not just a complainer or want perfection.  Im just comparing the 2 cruises and they were complete opposites.  Our cruise in April on the Millennium was fantastic but I'm not using it to compare because there was only 800 people on board and it wouldn't be a fair comparison.  Our cruise in June to Bermuda on Summit was also good, just wasn't happy with all the pre cruise itinerary changes due to Bermuda testing but the onboard experience was good.  I love the smaller ships.

OHHHH and for one final piece of info.  I have since tested positive for Covid.  I managed to avoid it for almost 3 years and 4 cruises in 2022 and as of Friday I am positive.  My symptoms are fairly mild, a bad cold with sinus congestion and I think its already getting better.  There was ALOT of coughing near the end and almost no masks at the start and a bunch of people wearing them by the last day.

Will I sail Celebrity again?  YES, I have a few booked and hope things improve but we are also looking at other lines like RCCL since our Elite status is reciprocal and we will get 4 daily drinks and not have to buy a drink package.  One disappointing cruise hasn't put me off.  Happy Cruising ALL!!

  6. We rented a Boston Whaler and had a great day. We went to the sunken ship wreck and snorkeled  and then a deserted beach where we anchored and had a picnic lunch.   We went  all around the area in the little Boston Whaler and had a fantastic day.

They also rent large Pontoon boats.  If you knew there was a group of you, the cost of the Pontoon boat split between couples would be an awesome day!

What a fantastic gift from your kids.  You will have a great time in Bermuda.  Having the full 3 days there is awesome!  Enjoy!

This happened to me too.  Did you ever get it resolved and if so how.

    Hi

I did not get it resolved with the website or by emailing (there is no contact phone #)  I tried many times.  I eventually opened a dispute with my Visa and did a charge back.  Visa investigated and I was credited the full amount back to my credit card.

This took over 3 weeks so in the meantime, I reordered online entry tickets but NOT with the official Greece website.  I ordered them through Get Your Guide who I have used before and had another excursion booked through.  I know they are a good legit company.

I have their app on my phone and once you buy tickets they have everything on the app.  The entry code that you scan to go in is saved offline on your phone so you don't need data or anything to access them.

Get Your Guide also has some different options of audio guides or other guides.  We booked the "combo" ticket because we went to the  Ancient Agora as well.

We were at the Dionysus Theater entrance before 8 am and were the first 10 people in, very nice, by the time we were on our way down, it was getting very busy up there.  Also if you want to wait to purchase your tickets at 8 am the line was only about 15 people at the DionysusTheater entrance and this was the 25th of August so it was probably busier than shoulder season will be.   I hear the main entrance is much busier.  Plus the climb is a little less steep at the beginning at that entrance.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted out.  But definitely don't miss the Acropolis, it is fantastic.  It was my 3rd time up there and still as wonderful as seeing it all the first time.

Maybe try a different credit card - VISA or MC.  Good luck.

Well I paid with Visa already and no email with tickets and code.  So I'm definitely not trying again with a different credit card.  If I don't get this resolved I'm out 120 Euro.  So far no tickets, not in spam folder and no response to my email.  I'll give it until mid week next week then if nothing, I'll do a visa charge back.  I'm still hopeful, it's early yet.

Thanks. Since Reykjavik is a transition day, maybe Celebrity will develop a short 2 hour excursion for the B2B'ers so we can see the "fissure" developments as well as briefly check out the Blue Lagoon. Unfortunately, our time will be limited on that day, but one can hope!

We were supposed to do a B2B on the Jewel of the Seas to Norway then Iceland/Ireland in June but had to switch for work timing reasons but I set up alot of tours for the group, there are a few private operators and if you could get a group interested I bet you could get someone to take you.

Saga tours is a great tour operator out of Reykjavik.

I'll be following along and living vicariously through you since we had to cancel and put Iceland back on our bucket list.  🙂

For those interested we are getting ready to board the Celebrity Summit, a revolutionized M-Class ship, on Sunday for a 24 day B2B from NJ to Canada, Greenland and Iceland and then back to Boston. We will be in an aft-facing Aqua cabin, which we are so looking forward to, and will be posting both our onboard experiences as well as our adventures ashore to my following thread. As we had so much fun on our recent Med cruise on the Regal, it will be interesting to compare experiences as they are still very clear in our minds.

I followed your live Regal thread as we sail on the 27th of this month, this is only our 2nd Princess cruise.  Our usual line is Celebrity.  We were just on the Summit to Bermuda in June, so I will be following along on your Summit Cruise.  I love your live thread.  Looking forward to it.

I am sorry that this is happening to you.  I hope that you'll be able to resolve it successfully.  Follow up with them, be persistent, and it will most likely be resolved in your favor.

Things get better and better each year, but still, many things just don't work in Greece as smoothly as they do in Canada or other parts of Europe.  You cannot always expect that once you send money to Greece that you'll get what you paid for.  Not because Greeks are somehow dishonest, but because of things just not always working.  I'd very hesitant sending money to Greece (like to most of the world) except for airline tickets, unless there is a really huge advantage to buying your services up front over when you are there.  The headache wondering if you'll lose your money is not worth it.

Thanks for the info.  I emailed so hopefully it will get sorted out.  It is the official site for Acropolis tickets so I'm sure millions have used it.  I read reviews of people pre purchasing from there and then just scanning at the machines so I'm sure its legit, now to get it all sorted out. lol   Good thing I have 3 weeks to do it.

The information provided by @marazulin this post is correct. We bought our tickets on this site (the day before), skipped the line and went straight to the machines to scan our passes.

Here is the official website.  It's kind of clunky, but it works.

    https://etickets.tap.gr/webengines/tap_b2c/english/tap.exe?PM=P1

    The region is ATTICA

The site is ACROPOLIS AND SLOPES

    Pick the date

Pick a time. The time is for statistical purposes only, but the ticket gives you the right to enter without waiting in line whenever you show up that day.

    Pick the number of persons.

Pick "single use" or "combined" which gives you access to other sites.

    Checkout.

It was very hot, even though we were there very early. And crowded, with many groups just jamming the way.

I have a question.  I just ordered 4 combined 'general admission" tickets on this website and have not received anything by email other than an auto reply saying our order by credit card order was accepted but nowhere on the receipt does it mention for what??? No mention of Athens or the Acropolis or anything.

Did it take a day or so to get your email with the tickets to scan?  I'm just hoping it takes a few hours or a day for the visa payment or something before I get the email with the actual tickets to scan.

    Thanks for any info.

  13. There are 2 entrances to Oceanview Cafe from the pool area.  The one on the left has the ice cream area as soon as you come in.

They have 4 or 5 kinds flavors of hard scoop.  Things like dulce de leche,  vanilla, chocolate, Mint chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter etc.  Different flavors everyday.  They also have the soft serve machines here, vanilla and chocolate.  They also have a couple of jars of cookies and usually chocolate macaroons or coconut cranberry one.  They usually have a gluten free dessert here too.

We always enter the Oceanview on the right but make sure we check out the ice cream flavors for dessert on our way out on the other side.  😉

Has anyone had success emailing or calling and getting missing points? As some others mentioned, I did not get the points for the Turkey Webinar, but did get two points for other activities.   That leaves me two points away from Elite and our cruise is on April 9!

If you were successful, where did you call or email?

    Thanks!

I was missing points last summer and I called the Captains club directly.  They added the points.  I would explain that you are just the 2 points away from Elite and you didn't receive the 5 for the Webinar and that you'd like them added asap.  I do remember my points weren't added until the next month.  I hope they can add yours before your cruise.   Here are some captain club phone numbers.
