Looks like I have the same option to do it this way for our September Mardi Gras cruise.

    Yes, through my Carnival PVP.

Thank you, I believe because I booked though travel agent, so I can’t open the

the page like you did. Thanks again!

I was just able to pay our gratuities for our 4/14 cruise using 3 AARP gift cards.

From Booking & Order Details, I clicked on View Invoice Details, then next to Prepaid Gratuities, I clicked on Add which took me to the payment screen showing the Gift Card option.

Did you book your cruise directly with the cruise line?

Your Cruise Line is not being upfront with you - or perhaps they do not yet have a berth assignment this far out from the cruise date.

There are 6 International Cruise Ports in the Tokyo Area:

2 in Yokohama and 4 in Metro Tokyo

All 6 ports are called  - at one time or another - a Tokyo Cruise Port.

If you Google Tokyo Cruise Port, you can find schedules for ship calls at all of these ports.

To narrow it down a bit, 3 of the International Terminals are located in Tokyo Bay, where any ship calling there must pass under the Rainbow Bridge. This bridge is quite low, so only small ships can access those Terminals. If your ship carries more than around 1000 pax, it will not fit under the bridge.

To narrow it down further -  2 of the Downtown Tokyo Terminals are used almost exclusively for Bay, River, and Dinner Cruises. Your ship most likely will not go there.

If your ship is small enough, it could call at Harumi Terminal in Downtown Tokyo - a very desirable and convenient place.

Your ship will most likely call at the new Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, located just South of the Rainbow Bridge and just North of Haneda Airport.

If it does not call there, the other 2 options are Osanbashi Terminal in Yokohama, or (if Osanbashi Terminal is full) or (if your ship is too large to fit under the Yokohama Bay Bridge), Daikoku Container Terminal in Yokohama Bay.

Tokyo Tours are offered from all 6 Tokyo Cruise Ports.

Hi, we are leaving on a cruise from Daikoku Terminal in April, and our hotel is near Yokohama train Station (besides taking taxi to the Daikoku Terminal) can you recommend any other ways of getting to the terminal? Thank you so very much.

We didn't get it either.  In fact, we booked a 2026 cruise mid-December.  Then I read the promo thread here 3 days later.  I sent an email to my Viking agent and asked for the promo.  We received a new invoice with $1000 off the previous invoice.

Wow! I need to get the name of your Viking agent, please send it to mingr at comcast dot net thanks!

  5. I didn’t get the letter either, when I was booking my cruise my V agent asked me (did I receive the promo letter?), so I’m out of luck since I didn’t get it,

We  too  book a new cruise  and rescheduled an upcoming cruise from 2025 to 2026. Kept all my onboard discounts when I originally booked this cruise.

Got the promo price and also discount stated in  the letter  from Viking ( had to have a booking before Nov 21) for a new booking for 2025.

     I am a happy  camper.

But neither of these cruises are in 2024. ☹️So maybe I will find a last minute deal  next year and book something.

What kinds of offers did you get? Special promo code? Thanks for sharing.

We will be staying at The Hyatt Regency Yokohama before boarding Royal Princess on April 27 with a cruise from Yokohama to Anchorage.  Does anyone know of a tour guide that will pick us up in a car at hotel and take us on a one day tour of Tokyo and one day to Mt. Fuji.

we have contacted the hotel and they will not arrange any private tours.

    thanks.

We’re on the same cruise I believe (Royal Prince 4/27/2024), we’ll be in Yokohama on 4/23, I have looked in to local guides, didn’t decide anything, if you find something interesting please let us know, ( minrittatgmail) and I’ll do the same. Thanks !

Can't log into the personalizer on the website any more for my husband, doesn't recognize his password. For me, sometimes I can log in, today also says password  incorrect.

I have given up. Will just do it through booking number. However if I want to see anything else,

history, Future Cruise credits etc, can't do it right now.

I have the same issue, I changed password and do it again and again, same issue.

  9. We have a happy ending to the missing suitcase drama. We thank Viking Customer Service for resolving our issue with having to pay UPS to get our bag.  It turns out that the nearly $100 we paid is just a brokerage fee and about 1/4 of what it cost to get our bag from Berlin (the bus company paid the rest). We hadn't heard of air tags or luggage RFID tags until this incident and we very much agree with the people who recommended them. Ours are on order. I have to reflect on how much wasted time and grief we could have saved had we used these tags. We will still maintain higher vigilance with the loading and unloading of our bags. Hopefully the air tags will make this a simpler task.    Dave

  10. We recently enjoyed a wonderful Viking river cruise - the Elegant Elbe.  The luggage problem occurred when we checked into our hotel in Berlin - one of our bags didn't arrive with us. It turned out 4 bags were missing altogether. After a couple of weeks the bus company found the bags in a "never used" compartment. After nearly 2 more weeks we received our missing suitcase, all intact, but we were charged nearly $100 by UPS for the shipping. We have appealed to our Viking Customer service rep and let the bus company know about our unhappiness with having to pay. The costly lesson for us is that no one admitted any mistake or role in the mishap and, therefore, it is, by default, our fault.  One of the wonderful things about these cruises is having the cruise line handle transfers for you. We will still enjoy that, I guess, but we will make every attempt to watch our luggage get loaded and unloaded on/off any bus or van - since we appear to be responsible, if not culpable.

Matt and Jimmy, I apologize for not getting your contact info.  I you're reading this please contact Dave at lyrytsar@gmail.com

Not all luggage fits through the scanners. Standardsized suit cases, like the ones we check in for a flight, will not go through. Tried it a few times and was sent to the back of the line.

The tipping at USA ports is one more reson I prefer leaving from Southampton UK.

    Dacy

Do you tip them at Southampton port?

     Thanks

I'd caution you about doing this at Heathrow. When we departed Heathrow terminal 2 last Monday it was chaos. Took us three hours to check in and there were queues going everywhere. I noticed the testing centre signs but I would do as least as possible at Heathrow. Probably the worst airport I have been through and locals in the queue with us said there had been stories about short staffing for quite a while.

What day of the week and time of the day were  you there ? Thanks!

tracie17 - I too ordered the tests for reentry to the US through Princess for our cruise a few weeks ago.  However, I did not need them because Princess offered free testing on the ship for those passengers returning to the US after disembarkation.

The cabin steward took swabs the morning before the end of our cruise and printed reports were sent

    our cabin in the evening.

    What ship are you on?
