  1. We were on the August 8th sailing of Allure.  (first revenue cruise on the ship).  We week prior we were in Disney when the new rules were announced that we needed a Covid test. RC sent text and email reminders multiple times a day to let us know.  We were in 'Covid central' (Florida) and were able to get our tests done very easily at CVS and had the results 28 hours later.  Our insurance covered it.  There were laces that offered the 15 minute results that insurance would not cover and that was our plan B.

So even with the surge of Delta, getting the test done in time is very possible.

I just realized that what I thought was guacamole in Graham’s picture of the fish and chips may have been mushy peas- I had never seen them before!

h2oskibum, your pictures are great! I just read a Jacqueline Winspear novel that takes place in Gibraltar, just before WW2.  Your photos make me think that more leg work is needed before a trip there.

I was wondering what the green stuff was too.

Since I didn’t race back to Pennsylvania last night to get that free beer, we had a more leisurely pace today.  Whenever we drive to and from the south, we always cross the New River Gorge Bridge.  Never bothered to stop there until today.

We took the wood stairs down to the overlook.

This is one of the longest and tallest arch bridges in the northern hemisphere.  A view from the lower platform

Once a year, in October, they close the bridge for a day and have a festival on the bridge. Many from across the country come in to do BASE jumps from the bridge or to rappel from it.

Found one of these for a lunch stop

Their jerk chicken is not bad.

When I saw the stairs the first thing that came to my mind was "Oh no, you wil have to climb back up all those stairs."

    Great pictures.

My wife is from Buffalo area so we visit the area often, our first trip to Seneca I hit for 750 on a 5 dollar slot we were with friends so that paid for a great dinner for the four of us. Do prefer view from Canadian side.

I prefer the Canadian side as well.  The views are better and there is more to do if you are going for a day or two. We stayed at the Hyatt Place the view was not nearly as good as staying at the Sheraton on the Canadian side.

This is our spring break and this was definitely not the water I was planning on seeing this week, but we made the best of it.  Our cabin on the Allure would of been much nicer.

  5. Took a quick trip to Niagara Falls yesterday.   It was a balmy 38 degrees and windy.   I love how they light up the falls at night.   Things that were different for us... no car line ups at the border and seeing the Maid of the Mist area with no people.   The Maid of the Mist are the boats that take folks on the river close to the falls- they run from the US and Canadian sides.   In the last picture, that area is normally packed with people.

When I was in my early teens, I had good friends that lived in Niagara Falls.   We would walk across the Rainbow Bridge to play mini golf and the walk back.  Even before Covid, kids would not be able to do that now.   If I want to drive through Ontario to get to Detroit with my kids(it’s quicker than going south around the Great Lakes), I need a notarized letter from my husband giving permission and their passports.

So no more beach pictures for me today.  We flew back to Pennsylvania last night, so we are looking at rain all day.  Today, I am backing up iPhones and getting ready to activate the new ones.  Will probably wait until the new cases get here before doing that.  I was shocked at how much of a trade in they gave for our old 6S models.  Such a savings, I opted for the 12 Pro model for me, while the others all got the 12.

Where did you buy them from that that gave you a good trade in price?   Your carrier? Apple?
