Thanks -- I'm glad I have been able to upload some to this site, but someone else will have to take over in a few weeks because we recently had a family situation arise back home, so we will have to leave the ship in Dubai and head home, and we won't get to finish the world cruise.  We hope to be able to plan a future cruise that will sail through the Suez Canal, and we'd like to also see the Norwegian fjords and other things that we'll be missing now.  Maybe Royal Caribbean will offer another world cruise in a few years and we can book that.  🙂

Sorry to hear you have to leave the cruise unexpectedly.  I really enjoyed reading your posts.

Love it....   My first browser was Netscape 1.0     It came with a book explaining what a browser was.   Only problem at 1.44 MBPS it tool about 5 minutes for a webpage to to open.   Known as click on a link and grab a cup of coffee.

Oh My - Netscape!  Haven't heard that word in years. Thanks for reminding us of what used to be. 😃

  3. Played pickeball on the Summit in May 2023.  It is on the sports court.  They have certain times for pickleball each day as they use the court for other sports as well.  They provide paddles if you don't want to bring your own.  At times we had up to maybe 12 people, so you waited your turn.  One day the activities staff even coordinated a pickleball tournament. It can be windy but the sports court has the net all around it. I enjoyed playing against people I never met before.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge, further down the bay, that ships would also have to pass under, is only 186 feet high, or the same as the Key bridge, so raising the Key bridge would do nothing.

Once again, thank you for chiming in with your expertise and technical knowledge about this incident.

I am standing in our junior suite cabin, looking into the hallway, and the door to the deck eight is directly in front of me. You can see the lock door to the right, and our daughter’s door to the left.

This is working perfectly for us plenty of privacy, but also plenty of space for both of us. We keep the door propped open like this whenever we’re all in the cabin and closed when we are gone or sleeping.

It is a narrow hallway, DH walker just fits through.

Thanks so much for posting the entry way pic.

Speaking of cabins.  Here are our cabins.  We hoped to open our JS door and create a small apartment for the three of us.  that is working very well.  The cabin attendant let us use his door stop.  We close all the doors when we leave and at night.  However, all of the other time our door is open.  This would work well for a family.

There is another door that opens onto the hall.  There is a key slot on that door.  It can connect to make the "family suite larger." but the attendant needs to unlock this door with his key.  So, they can not open the door to our hall on this cruise.

    Here is our cabin

Here is the studio. It is very "cozy."  😉

It has a virtual balcony--which is a nice feature.

That's great to hear, because I have thought of doing that with my family.  Can you post a picture of the hallway area between your two cabins showing the door/entryway?

  7. I followed your live blog.  Wasn't your husband supposed to go but then became a no show?  I seem to recall issues at home with your dog.  If he was a no show, they won't give you the extra solo points.  This happened to me last year as my friend ended up in the hospital a few days before sailing.  I never got the extra solo points as she was a no show.

Here is a pic I downloaded to show my SIL what B1 cabins were available at the time we booked.  Should give you a little idea of the depth of each deck.

    On Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore, the size order is 9, 12, 15, 14, 11, 10, 13 from deepest to least deep.

Thank you so so much!  Just what I was looking for.

It was through Celebrity and we paid $118.99 per person a month before the cruise. It was slim pickings when I booked and this was the only tour available at the time that went to Nevis. I would highly recommend it! Although it didn’t include lunch we stopped at the same spot as @hcat and were able to purchase drinks and appetizers. When we arrived at the volcanic hot springs and I thought this is going to be lame. I almost didn’t get off the bus but I’m glad I did as it felt really good. We had taken another cruise the week before this one and of all the excursions we did over the 2 weeks the Two Island Triple Play was our favorite.

Thank you so much for that description. Sounds perfect for me.  With some dietary restrictions, I try to do excursions without lunch when possible.

We are just off the Ascent yesterday and did a different excursion to Nevis called Two Island Triple Play. We also stopped at the volcanic hot springs and did get in the water, up to our knees. We loved it! I suffer from leg and foot pain and had no pain for the rest of the day. Made for a very enjoyable excursion. The water was hot, 112 degrees. We also visited the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton (reason we booked the excursion) and wish we had time to go in the museum. Our tour stopped at Lime as well but didn’t include lunch, we just ordered a very strong drink and a couple appetizers. The other main difference was our ride to Nevis was a 45 minute ride on a catamaran which was very enjoyable and not over crowded as yours was. I would also recommend this tour to anyone wanting to go to Nevis. We would like to go back to Nevis in the future and spend a week at the Four Seasons (our excursion didn’t stop there).

Was your "Two Island Triple Play" Nevis tour through Celebrity or private?  Sounds nice too.

St Kitts / Nevis. We have been to St Kitts many times and decided to do something different. That was a very good idea as it was one of the best days of this cruise..Highly rec. this trip!

    We pre booked with Celebrity:

" A DAY TRIP TO NEVIS WITH LUNCH...".

hcat - Can you breakdown the time spent on The Day Trip to Nevis.  How long was ferry ride, how much time at beach, how much time touring the island, and then how much time for lunch, and what was lunch.  I was looking at doing this for an upcoming cruise and would appreciate it.
