Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, below the restaurant is not an option as there are no cabins available

It's amazing how quickly posts can get buried!! Anyone have an answer for me?

HAs anyone been in an SY suite on Deck 8 under the Lido deck, specifically the pool area? Concerned about the noise level early in the morning when they wash the deck and move all of the chairs.
Thanks!

OlsSalt, have you ever been under the pool deck section?
-
This is our first time for sailing on HAL so we have no "status". We have a guarantee SY category suite but the only cabins available are on Deck 8 below the pool (none available below the restaurant). I am a fairly light sleeper - any experience with the noise levels from the moving of pool furniture in the morning? What time do they usually start cleaning and moving it around?
Any thoughts on the odds of 2 cabins being upgraded to a better suite? I know there are no guarantees but I'm just asking opinions.
Thanks

Thanks! Do you know if there is a "drink of the day" like on RCL?

http://www.cruisewithgambee.com/norwegian-drink-lists/
The prices on this list are from 2014. Can anyone comment on the current prices for most average drinks like gin & tonic, bloody mary, etc.?
Thanks

Can anyone answer the question about the free shuttle?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info!
We are on the NCL Epic, if that helps anyone know which dock we may be coming in at.

Does the HoHo bus have a stop very close to the cruise ship terminal? I was confused when reading the posts whether we have to catch a city bus in to town to get on the HoHo.
Thanks
-
I'm also curious as to whether the free shuttle is operating and will be in April. Where does one catch it and how do you identify the shuttle?
Anyone???
Thanks

I think we've decided not to take a chance and will leave the backpack in the hotel room.

Will they allow a regular sized backpack and purses in to the Colosseum? I couldn't figure out the rules from the website.
Thanks in advance

Can anyone tell me the cost of the drink of the day on the Caribbean Princess? Thanks

Thanks so much for taking the time to post all of the Patters, etc.
Can you tell me how much the drink of the day was?

I got the Marriott Stella for more than some have paid, but less than they wanted (got it for $175) and I got the Sheraton OSJ for Priceline's posted price of $219 which was better than I could get calling the hotel directly (even though I am a member of their club, whatever it is called). We really wanted to stay right in the heart of Old SJ, and I didn't know how to bid to get that specific hotel. At least I was able to save some money!
Thanks for the hints and comments OhioJeff - helped put my mind at ease!

I have 2 different hotels booked in San Juan (1 pre-cruise and 1 post-cruise). Has anyone ever had any problems with a Priceline booked room? My husband wanted to just pay the full price, but Priceline saved us >$100 total - that will buy a lot of fruity drinks on the cruise ship!!! Well, maybe several....
I'm just praying nothing goes wrong with the reservations to allow him to say "I told you"....
-
Thanks Ihatesnow (by the way, I LOVE snow but never get to see it!).
I did not know that about Priceline. Fortunately, there are only 2 of us.
-
It worked! I just bid $175 for the resort in San Juan and got the Marriott - same place I reserved at $267/night!
Now I'm brave! I might try to get a better rate for the Sheraton Old San Juan if I can figure that one out.
-
Gotcha! Thanks for the tip. My hubby was on my case to make a reservation, so I made one at the Marriott - the lowest rate I could get was $267/night + all of the taxes and resort fees which add up to 26%!!!! That puts the room <$300/night!! I guess I could keep trying to use Priceline and then cancel our original reservation? Same thing with our post-cruise stay at the Sheraton Old San Juan - the rate is tolerable, but the taxes and fees put the rate way more than I want to spend for a night that I'm not even going to be in the room very much.....
-
I tried bidding $110 for "resorts" in the San Juan area for 4/11/08, but the bid was rejected. Is the Dorado area a good area?

Anyone cruise on the MArch 1999 and 2000 (I think?) Enchanted Isle when the celtic bands were playing? It was a great time! I miss that ship!

Thanks for the thoughts on the outside edges. Moving to deck 6 is an option for more money but we are considering it.
